Middler
I was surprised to learn how many courses you can buy green books for. It’s my understanding the green reading portion of apps like GolfLogix + Putt Line aren’t legal, but the books are (correct me if I’m wrong). GolfLogix is $40. I’m tempted to buy one out of curiousity but I don’t think I’d use it regularly - I’m not that serious and it seems over the top for anyone beyond a touring pro. I’ve never played with anyone who had one. https://strackaline.com/courses/store https://store.golflogix.com Quote Titleist TSR2 11° HZRDUS Red CB 50 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Titleist TSR2 16.5º HZRDUS Red 60 CB 6.0 & TSR2 21º HZRDUS Black 4G 70 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Mizuno JPX923 HMP 4-GW, T22 54.12WS, T22 58.04DC w Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid Midsize Evnroll EV5.3 Maxfli Tour & ProV1 Ping Pioneer - MGI Zip Navigator AT Payntr X 002 LE, Ecco Biom C4, Payntr X 001 F (Mesh)
palvord
I like the idea of a green book for a course I have never played before. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to purchase one, but if it was available at the pro shop for a reasonable fee, I would consider it for the day. Having one for the courses that I play often wouldn't be any extra advantage since the greens are slow and not super tricky at the municipal courses I play. PlaidJacket
I don't see any need to use one on any of the courses I play regularly or occasionally. People like us complain often about slow play. Now imagine more amateurs starting to whip out their book on the green. Geesh. Ridiculus if you axe me. But what do I know... perhaps it might help a guy get from a 24 hcp down to a 23. palvord and Middler 2 Quote My Sun Mountain bag currently includes: 771CSI 5i - PW and PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges EXS 10.5*, 929-HS FW4 16.5* Willimette w/GolfPride Contour
DiscipleofPenick
That's pretty cool, but a bit over the top. I'm just trying to put it on the green, not worrying about hitting the right slope. My regular course doesn’t have any simple flattish greens and there are even a few locations on some that I’ve read completely wrong. But it’s only been my regular course for about 30 rounds, and I assume I’ll figure out all the breaks eventually. FWIW I appreciate that every green is a challenge. And I’m not going to buy a green book even though they are available. The Putt Line feature in the GolfLogix app is fascinating, it actually shows you the putt - but it’s illegal, and should be IMO. tony@CIC 1 Quote Titleist TSR2 11° HZRDUS Red CB 50 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Titleist TSR2 16.5º HZRDUS Red 60 CB 6.0 & TSR2 21º HZRDUS Black 4G 70 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Mizuno JPX923 HMP 4-GW, T22 54.12WS, T22 58.04DC w Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid Midsize Evnroll EV5.3 Maxfli Tour & ProV1 Ping Pioneer - MGI Zip Navigator AT Payntr X 002 LE, Ecco Biom C4, Payntr X 001 F (Mesh)
beelzeberto
I would buy a yardage book for a club I've never played if it's reasonably priced. Looks like SL is $47 a book, not terrible i guess. I would really be buying it as like a keepsake from the club, more for memory purposes. Quote Sim / M2 / MG Z785 Brandon Matthews No2 - Not Made for the Tour "buy the ticket, take the ride..."
