GolfSpy TCB
With his win at the Houston Open this past weekend, Tony Finau has 3 wins in his last 7 starts. Adding to his wins earlier this year in the 3M and Rocket Mortgage, Finau has added the Cadence Bank Houston Open trophy to his display case. How do you think he will fare at the Masters or the other majors in '23. Which is best suited for his game? Confidence goes a long way, and he certainly has confidence right now!! tdroma98 1 Quote Titleist TSR3 9* (A2 setting) Driver - Graphite Design Tour AD UB-5 R1 Titleist TSR2+ 3 Wood - Graphite Design Tour AD UB-5 R1 Srixon ZX 5W Callaway Paradym 4-PW Titleist Vokey SM9 50-08, 54-10 & 58-08 Scotty Cameron Super Select Newport 2.5 2023 Titleist ProV1

I think the Masters lines up well for him. It will be curious to see what goes on with the LIV players in majors, because I really like Tony, be he has risen to the top once some of the competition went away. I think he will win a major either way as he has the game for sure, but the 2nd tier guys on the PGA are finding a lot more wins all of the sudden. I'd consider Finau somewhat top tier either way, but his path on the PGA has been much easier for sure. GolfSpy TCB

I get what you are saying, but sometimes players get on a heater... could be the case with Tony, and others. I'm not in hurry to put an asterisk next to his name, the guy is playing great golf, and I, for one, don't consider him a 2nd Tier player. But that is just my humble opinion. I like Finau in the PGA Championship next year... I like Finau in the PGA Championship next year... I've always thought he was right on the cusp of breaking through, just a few hiccups along the way, but he is for sure a top guy. Love his demeanor as well and honestly hope he wins multiple majors. Not a knock on him, but I couldn't name 5 guys on the front page of the most recent final leaderboard. GolfSpy TCB
True, not the strongest field when considering some of the other events throughout the year... but I think that has little to do with LIV. To your point about strength of field - there were only 3 guys in the top 20 of the World Golf Rankings playing in the Houston Open this year and one of them won it. Kenny B
Tony seems to have found something with his putting... he was phenomenal! If he continues to putt well, he will definitely win more and will contend in majors! I like it!! Finau certainly has learned how to win. He has the Iron & Wood game for Augusta, but does he have the consistent putting? He proved at Houston he can drop a 62 on you and putt lights out. Augusta will have a tad faster greens, LOL. Finau is a different player today, he can play under pressure & win. Having that experience taking a 1 or 2 shot lead coming to holes 17 & 18 at the Masters is huge! Two years ago, I wouldn't give him a chance of closing the door, but he's certainly matured since then!
