slash25rc
Has anyone ever read the book, Unf#ck Your Golf Swing by Cameron Strachan? I will start by recognizing most of these books or self-teaching guides are 95% gimmicky, and that nothing supersedes traditional lessons and coaching, but I am curious about the content in regards to swing thoughts and the mental side of playing the game. I tend to get super technical and end up screwing up my swing more than helping, so I didn't know if anyone has been exposed to this book yet or not. For $27 for an online copy, there's not much risk compared to these $100+ online guides that I always get ads for. There's a couple Reddit threads saying the concept of "throwing the club" towards a target and hitting a ball in the middle of it makes sense (gives me Marooch vibes). Just curious if anyone has read it, or have any advice on apps or podcasts similar that has helped their mental game and practice? tony@CIC
I've given up on books and most youtube 'lessons' and prefer to spend my $$ with an instructor. But I'm a visual learner so it's important for me to see what I'm doing wrong and my instructor's fix. It's money well spent as my package lessons come out to only $60 (times 5 for the lesson package). My instructor who is a PGA Master instructor and a TPI certified guy uses both Mevo and video. Much better than trying to guess what's wrong and potentially fixing the 'thing' you were doing right. cnosil, cksurfdude, Shankster and 1 other 4 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300
Hacker60521
I’m a bit like @tony@CIC. I enjoy reading certain golf books, and have read maybe 12 or so. I tend to avoid videos, as they are trying to solve an issue, such as slicing, by assuming certain swing errors. But my slice might be caused something else. This season I’ve taken a few lessons which have helped me much more than a book or video. tony@CIC, cksurfdude and slash25rc 3 Quote Driver: Stealth2 3W: Stealth2 4H: Stealth 2 Irons 4I-9I: T200 Wedges P, 48: T200 Wedges 54, 58: Vokey SM9 Putter: O Works #1 Black
slash25rc
@tony@CIC @Hacker60521 Oh yes, I agree 100%--lessons have helped big time but with my work schedule now and have an 18 month old, it's hard to take advantage of them as often as I should. It's definitely the best thing for one's swing, but wanted to try and give my brain a lesson or two as well cksurfdude and tony@CIC 2 Quote Paradym Ai Smoke Max 10.5 Driver; Graphite Design Tour AD-VF 6 S/ IZ 5 S Paradym Ai Smoke Max 3HL 16.5: Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 65 S G430 7w: Ping Chrome 75 S Gen 2 0811 4H: Fujikura Pro 85 S TSR2 5H: Project X HZRDS Red 85 S 0211 DC 6-G: KBS TGI 80 S CBX 54: Rotex Wedge; CBX2 Zipcore 58: Project X Catalyst Spinner 80 M.Craft OMOI Type 06 ProV1x ; Linksmaster Bag
cnosil
I haven’t read the book, but I do believe that books and videos can help aspects of your game. The Dan Grieve book and his videos have done wonders for my short game. As for the book referenced, never heard of it and when i went to the site, the presentation reminded me of those snake oil sales pitches thati I would typically avoid. If it is only $27 I don’t see the harm as long as you are committed to implementing the presented swing system. cksurfdude, slash25rc and tony@CIC 3 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: Paradym AI Smoke Max HL 16.5* w/MCA TENSEI AV Series Blue Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Render w/VA Composites Baddazz Backup Putters: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe, Milled Collection RSX 2 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

Shankster
The title demands respect, I will say that. Like @tony@CIC I learn by seeing things. I should probably go see his coach. sirchunksalot, cksurfdude and tony@CIC

I neglected to mention/admit that is a genre of golf books that I read and will continue to do so - it's about the mental side of the game. Something I need to focus on and much cheaper than a golf therapist. cksurfdude 1 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300
