New member of the 7 wood club. 

Never was interested until this year when I struggled with 3/4 irons.   This will replace my long irons and way more forgiving.  They go high and hold a green better than a hybrid for most people. 

I’ve always been fascinated by 7 woods. What is the intended use for high lofted fairway woods? I’ve only ever gamed a 3 wood and a 3 hybrid so genuinely curious what people use them for. 

Well, I’ll say that’s a good start!!🤪😜 I’m ashamed to admit how many putters are kicking around my house (and now my son’s house)!!  I will say that the L.A.B. MEZZ.1 MAX has really tamed my ‘wandering eye!’  But, my pro did just get a Jailbird Cruiser in and I pick it up every time I’m in the shop!!  The thing is sweet!

I have a PXG 0311 7 wood and absolutely love it. One of the best clubs in my bag whether I’m hitting it off of the tee or in the fairway. Gives me a lot of birdie opportunities on par 5s and such. I can’t see myself not having a 7 wood in the bag.

I picked up a Wilson D9 7-wood last season and I have to say that I love it. Reasonably priced, good looking at address and very easy for me to hit with confidence. Check it out if you are still looking.

It is not you.  7 woods have generally been for players that needed a little help getting the ball in the air so the ones that are most often stocked have softer flex shafts.
Finding one with a stiff or x-stiff shaft can be difficult.
Even if you find a stiff shaft it tends to be a little light.  
I’ve had to reshaft my current 7 wood and the previous one to get a heavier and stiffer shaft with less torque.  With the stock shafts I tended to hit high hooks with them.
Once properly shafted they are like having a cheat code.  Easy to hit high & straight.

Currently have a Callaway Rogue ST Max 7W (21*). It's a stiff shaft and I could do with XS, so I'll replace it when funds allow. Not sure what I'd go for, but the TSR2 is high on the list.
