    Hey fellow Golfspies!
I’m Jon from Texas, but I’ve been living abroad in Germany for the last 14 years now.  I started playing golf from a young age, but I developed a Baseball problem and Golf took a back seat from about 16 years old, up until about 2.5 years ago. Never worried about a handicap until these last couple years, started in the 30’s and have worked it down to an 8.1
I love golf for the people you meet and the relationships you can build while navigating your way around 18 holes. Part of the allure is no matter how good you become, you can always improve.
I came to MGS fairly recently, I believe the golf ball test was the net that reeled me in.
I have been living in Bonn, Germany for the last 14 years, initially came over here to play baseball, toward the end of the baseball career I started a business here, sold the business after 10 years, and now I’m starting an apprenticeship to become a fully qualified PGA teaching professional.
Looking forward to diving more into the forums here and meeting you all!

Would have loved to play a winter or two in Puerto Rico!! One of my Indy teammates was Puerto Rican and he spoke very highly of winter ball there.

Baseball was also top of the list for me as well, but the “baseball problem” that I alluded to was the high school coach who “convinced” me that if I was serious about baseball, then I needed to lay off golf. He’d said the golf and baseball swings, though similar, couldn’t coexist, and that I’d have to choose.
I ended up playing D1 baseball, and several years in Indy Ball before journeying over to Germany. I also finally spit the bit so to speak and stopped playing baseball competitively around 36. My ol’ catcher bones had a small part to play in that decision haha.

Hello - Has anyone been playing this driver?  My Qi10(Std) just came in. Was playing the Stealth OG but never really got along.  Went in wanting to buy the TSR2,(hzrdus red) but the numbers don't lie.  Qi (Ventus TR blue) was 8-9 yards longer and much tighter dispersion.  And as for Callaway havent been a fan since the 1st gen Rogue.
Cant wait to hear what others have to say...

    Testers Announced!

The TaylorMade Qi10 drivers were one of our most requested products for member testing. It is no surprise to see why, either, with several PGA Tour pros putting them into their bags immediately from launch, and even Colin Morikawa finally replacing his original TaylorMade SIM in favor of the new TaylorMade Qi10 Max. Yes, that’s correct—a tour player using the Max head.
    About The TaylorMade Qi10 Series
The series of drivers consists of three models: the Qi10 Max, Qi10 LS (low spin), and Qi10 Standard. Each has slightly different weight placements, but only the LS model includes a moveable weight.
The big story for these drivers is forgiveness. TaylorMade has created its first driver with 10k MOI points. To read all the finer details of why this matters, you can see our full overview here: TaylorMade Qi10 Drivers First Look
The shorter version is TaylorMade has leveraged a multi-material design, relocated mass, and improved shapes to achieve maximum forgiveness within each model while claiming to still retain all the speed (and therefore distance) characteristics.
Other big changes to the driver include the face and crown. Where previous versions for years had a clear distinction between where the titanium support met the carbon crown, the Qi10 features a clean glossy black crown with a new blue carbon face. The blue replaces the red of the Stealth models and is their third generation of carbon driver face.

Please welcome and congratulate our 6 testers!

How is who you know important?
This is all about getting a wide variety of ppl to test products to be more relatable to more golfers.
Who you know truly doesn't make any difference to us. If anything it could cause various bias that could make a review lean one way or another.

Originally I imagined I’d be playing the Minzuno RB Tour X. Our Club Pro seemed to be guiding me towards using it, due to its higher compression and likely because he uses a majority of Minzuno gear himself. I took the RB Tour X out for a few rounds, but found that I didn't have a good feel for it with the irons, particularly my mid irons.
After sifting through the MGS 2023 ball review, I’d decided to give the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash a Spin. Loved it. The distance gaps between my woods and irons stepped down very nicely, and felt more true. Still had some feel around the green and was still able to shape the shot a bit. Which I didn’t expect.
All this to say, my ball this year has to be Titleist Pro V1x Left dash!! Well worth the extra few bucks.

Are you buying a new driver? The option of keeping the same shaft is possible!
Stay within the project X family. They now how Lz versions but in iron shafts.
RDX Smoke Red or Blue could be possible options (I'm a big fan of the blue personally).
It is also possible with a different head there will be different feels or similar feels with the same shaft profile. If possible be sure to test and bring your driver in to compare!

    Hello all!
I started golf last year somewhere around April (bought some used clubs from my friend). I have quite many friends playing and I thought that why won't I give it a chance as well! I have a strong ball game background (e.g. Floorball) which has helped me quite a much with the game. My first round ever was in May and got my first birdie on the fourth hole (short par 4, nice 1st shot on the green) on that round. Thought that this isn't that hard but understood the reality of the sport quite quickly as the round ended up being 126 shots or something. In Finland the summer is short so there are only few months when you can actually play. My handicap is 26 after the first summer and looking forward to get on the course after few months. While waiting, I have been quite active on going to Trackman simulator (Trackman HCP is now 4.6)
I really find the game addicting as you don't need to play perfect round of golf to enjoy it: Sometimes it is enough just to play a good hole or one good single shot. As there is always room for improvement, it brings me back every time.
MyGolfSpy is quite new thing for me, but as I have been quite interested on the gear, this seems a good place for getting some honest reviews and information about the clubs etc. From that set that I bought from my friend, there is left only a driver and hybrid left
I am located in Tampere, Finland and a member of Nokia River Golf. (Sami Välimäki, the first Finnish player on PGA tour is also from NRG). The club has two courses which is really nice. Short season is Finland is not so cool.
To finance the hobby, I am doing data analytics related stuff for living. I haven't yet started to use data to improve my game too much, just try to get my swing consistent before that 😄
To the end, here is an image from my beautiful home course
