Full time walker.  Love the exercise, the pace.  The course I play most in our area offers a walking membership that is hundreds of dollars a year less than their full membership.  Clicgear four wheeler makes it a breeze.  Have walked 36 holes in a day twice this spring, and regularly walk 27.

Another walker here! I much prefer walking to a cart. Not really sure why other then it's nice to get the exercise and enjoy seeing the course at a bit of a slower pace. The click gear cart has made a world of a difference in enjoying walking that much more.

I walk 90% of the time I play. And like you, I always feel like I play better when I walk. I don't know if it's because it gives me more time to think about what I'm going to do or what. But, I enjoy walking.

I always prefer to walk. It's way cheaper and that allows me to play more rounds in a year. I actually just ordered a seat for the clicgear as it seems in our normal group that mainly walks always catches up to foursomes and threesomes in carts.

Just wondering if there any walkers left. I recently returned to the joys of walking the course. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the idea of leaving the cart behind and playing in a much more relaxed state of mind. Also, it seems to me that I play better when walking. Anyone else enjoy putting one foot in front of the other when playing?

Hoping to get out tomorrow after work if the rain isn’t torrential (I’ve played 5x this spring in pretty steady rain - you can only get SO wet - rain beyond that l doesn’t add much).
Played terribly last Friday - same pattern as the previous two rounds: rush to the course with little to no warm up (except maybe 10 quick putts and a chip or two to judge the green speed) before we get called by the starter, struggle to get in tempo and find some touch, dig into a hole with a few bogeys and maybe a double from stiff incomplete swings, then somewhere around #5, 6, or 7, find a glimmer of my feels, make adjustments, make a few pars and if I’m lucky a birdie on #8 or 9, and by the time I’m getting in a groove and starting to make shots, it’s too dark to play anymore, usually by #12, even earlier if the course is packed.
starting to wonder if I would get more out of spending that same amount of time on the range and practice greens, so when I get to play on the weekends with a normal warm up, I’ll get more out of it.  Sometimes feels like these rushed around 12 holes are hurting more than helping.  But I’ll keep plugging away because even the bad days I still love this game!

Penn National is great - the two courses couldn’t be more different, and both test your game in different ways.  Staying on the property is good.  Wish there was more to do in the immediate area.
It would be great to gather in Frederick though - no end to good food, drinks, and golf!

Dan Yates reacted to funkyjudge in Seven wood anyone?
I have played a Callaway Epic Flash 7-wood, shafted with an Accra Tour Z LS 85-S shaft, for more than 5 years. The carbon fiber crown cracked on this club nearly 3 years ago, and I repaired the cracked crown using high impact epoxy about a month later; however, that repair started to fail last year and I switched to using a Sub 70 949-X adjustable 7-wood.
I have gotten decent, but less consistent, results from the Sub 70 fairway wood (shafted with a UST Mamiya ProForce Black 85-S shaft, which is as close I could find to the no longer available Accra shaft that is in my Epic Flash 7-wood). I can’t say that I am dissatisfied with the Sub 70 7-wood, but it’s just not nearly as consistent and predictable as the Callaway 7-wood has always been. Every so often, I search Callaway Preowned and ebay to see if there is an Epic Flash 7-wood available for sale. However, the few of them that I have seen have been in horrible condition, so I have stayed with what I have.
I’m getting a new Maltby KE4 TC Pro adjustable 7-wood head from Golfworks, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Once I get it built up to my specifications, this 7-wood will get a thorough tryout and if it passes its audition this is likely to become my new gamer in the 7-wood slot.

Then we would have had 3 AutoFlex Dream 7 testers!
The thing about this group if the previous two outings are any indication, night life isn't really a need and not something Iooked at when selecting a location.   Everyone mostly wants to just hang out at a Fire Pit, large patio or some gathering spot to just shoot the shit.   After getting to know so many members on the forum over the years when you finally get to meet in person, it's like catching up with a friend you haven't' seen in years.
The main thing  I look  for in a location is on site cottage, villa or condo lodging, as it makes it much easier to do that than everyone going back to a their on hotel rooms.
We have done one a year, but this year there has been talk of maybe doing a fall one as well.  But that remains to be seen.  So keep on the lookout.
