  1. What ^he^ said!! Crazy beautiful day here (Sunday, 12/13) - then dropping into the 30s tonight and staying there all week - with a possible blizzard on Weds Got out for 9 and .. after the first hole disaster .. hit some decent golf shots and played fairly well, but .. .. I'm not scoring any better (in fact a little worse than average today).... But hey the swing and the short game are showing some improvements and I'll keep taking lessons and practicing through the Winter.
  2. Another donation made, Foz. Good cause and what a good guy he was!
  3. But you're playing on the "right side" of the grass!! Hang in there, Foz .. work your way back slowly....
  4. Oh, do have a question for whenever testing gets underway... If you got the chipping basket, how do you find that works?
  5. Very nice!! Hope the testers get some good use out of it and put it through its paces. I'd received one as a gift from my honey earlier this year and....... oooops no spoilers!!!
  6. What didn't I practice today.. nor yesterday... Kinda funny story - yesterday drive towards the range .. one, then two, then a third large work truck on the side of the road partially blocking traffic .. get a little further and .. yep: road work. One lane backed up. Turn around, come home. Today - ha ha I'm smart, I'm going to the range in the opposite direction! Get there .. everything appears strangely quiet .. pull in .. yep: range closed. Drive to the other side of the lot - practice green closed. Turn around, come home.
  7. I'm not gonna use this so anyone who wants it.... Just reply that it has been used so others know.
  8. omg oh yeah............ Now we get back to the good ole-fashioned scams, shams and flim-flams. Well, all that plus a dozen new ones every other week............... Side note: most of the wireless carriers are starting to implement a partial screening service where they'll at least flag a call as "Suspected Spam"; in other cases they'll provide a "Report" option when you go to block a number.
  9. Good stuff, thx. In a happy coincidence, all the lessons I've been taking are essentially all geared towards initially getting me to move better so that I can start to learn to get into a better impact position. (also happen to have a DST trainer .. although it has been sitting idle in the garage for a while...)
  10. "Dance with the one you brought" (..olde timey saying..) Or: "It's not how ... it's how many"
  11. Any short game practice is good practice! Check out "Almost Golf" balls - soft foam but very life-like.
  12. Didn't actually buy but got some freebies since I'd purchased enough stuff in the past ... got emails from... 1. Global Golf - $30 credit I used for a nice pink warmup top for my honey; and 2. Callaway Golf - lotta rewards points I redeemed for 1 dz Chrome Soft Triple Track plus 1 dz Truvis These are 2020s so hopefully they're the updated & fully QC'ed ones!
  13. I also finished the season being disappointed in my chipping... Problems with distance control, both short and long, and was 2-chipping too often..... Had my second lesson yesterday where we focused just on chipping - using just a very simple almost putting like stroke - and then the instructor set up the sim to place me (well, the virtual me) into various greenside situations. Was having much more success getting the ball just onto the green and rolling out to reasonably near the hole. So I will be practicing chipping A LOT over the Winter!
  14. That sounds like great practice! But... are you using foam golf balls?
  15. Hmmmm, I have one of those doodads somewhere .. have kinda forgotten about it.... For tempo training I have the Tour Tempo tones; also have a Blast Motion sensor but so far have only used it with putting. Anyway, good luck MPR on your continuing - and always interesting! - journey to "better"!
  16. I'm thinking when you're at Bandon.. especially with perfect weather .. a score may be the absolute least important thing....... ENJOY and send us some more of those golf "porn" pics!!
  17. Hmmmmmmm..... Aha, I've got it! Let's make our clubs watch all the YT drill & training videos!!!
  18. ...and ^THIS^ is why those misbehaving clubs need to be replaced! (c'mon amiright @dlow206 )
  19. So speaking of swing changes... Whether we term it "change" or "tweak" or "adjustment" or whatever else ... I've been learning practicing rehearsing new things I've been shown in a series of lessons stretched out over the past year, and which will be continuing into the new year... My swing - and concomitant ball striking capabilities - are evolving and .. happy to say .. improving! But, as I alluded to, for me to see improvement I really have to work work work at it and practice practice practice. I'd even say it took me several years of playing golf to get the point where I could well understand the What of everything the instructor is trying to hammer into my thick skull (heck I even make him repeat lessons sometimes!).
  20. Three simple steps... on the video look for the "Share" link and touch/click on it .. "Copy" .. go back into the MGS post editor and "Paste". Fyi .. note the editor gives you an extra option to display as a text link instead.
  21. Totally!! I've tried a bunch of different brands over the years, and most likely will try even more in the future - especially with the rise of more DTC names like Sub70.
  22. Congrats on finding your new bomber! Someday I hope to be as happy with a driver... Separately... my only comment about Club Champion - while they do have good fitters who do good work - is the insistence on the Pure'ing ... admittedly I'm no fitter nor shaft expert, but .. it does seem superfluous to me especially with a high end "exotic" shaft which you'd think should be tightly quality-controlled. ...plus .. as soon as you change the hosel setting you've rotated the shaft so it's no longer Pure'ed......
  23. Ha we're totally hijacking Shankster's thread! (Sorry Shankster The Logician) Rick my wife is also a Consul - sociable, organizes events for friends, ....
