  1. So speaking of swing changes... Whether we term it "change" or "tweak" or "adjustment" or whatever else ... I've been learning practicing rehearsing new things I've been shown in a series of lessons stretched out over the past year, and which will be continuing into the new year... My swing - and concomitant ball striking capabilities - are evolving and .. happy to say .. improving! But, as I alluded to, for me to see improvement I really have to work work work at it and practice practice practice. I'd even say it took me several years of playing golf to get the point where I could well understand the What of everything the instructor is trying to hammer into my thick skull (heck I even make him repeat lessons sometimes!).
  2. Three simple steps... on the video look for the "Share" link and touch/click on it .. "Copy" .. go back into the MGS post editor and "Paste". Fyi .. note the editor gives you an extra option to display as a text link instead.
  3. Totally!! I've tried a bunch of different brands over the years, and most likely will try even more in the future - especially with the rise of more DTC names like Sub70.
  4. Congrats on finding your new bomber! Someday I hope to be as happy with a driver... Separately... my only comment about Club Champion - while they do have good fitters who do good work - is the insistence on the Pure'ing ... admittedly I'm no fitter nor shaft expert, but .. it does seem superfluous to me especially with a high end "exotic" shaft which you'd think should be tightly quality-controlled. ...plus .. as soon as you change the hosel setting you've rotated the shaft so it's no longer Pure'ed......
  5. Ha we're totally hijacking Shankster's thread! (Sorry Shankster The Logician) Rick my wife is also a Consul - sociable, organizes events for friends, ....
  6. OK. I must've, ummm, answered a bunch of the questions wrong as this was a totally unexpected surprise... But seriously this seems different vs how I'd describe myself. So.... Is this why I struggle with the game of golf....
  7. If you don't already have a detailed practice schedule, I think you can find sample practice plans online .. eg. from college coaches or Adam Young, etc. May help give you some ideas..??
  8. Just catching up on this thread and was gonna say something similar to cnosil. I'm short, about 5' 6 and 1/2", so two paces for me is also about 5 feet. I don't always pace of my putts but when I do, it's before the putt to give myself a better indication of the length. I wish I had my putting distance control calibrated down to where I need a finer level of detail!!!
  9. I've been working on my short game since I started playing 10-11 years ago - and I still suck! .. oops I mean: and I've been making good improvement, especially this year with my putting. I'd started a series of full swing lessons a year ago, and have been making improvements there - so now chipping has become a (kinda glaring) weak spot in my game.... So switched it up to a short game lesson. But what @El Chivo opened with... .. that's the real keyword = Confidence.
  10. I _do_ like physics and math - or at least I used to many many many years ago - but I'm thinking your best conversation partner for this stuff is Bryson!
  11. Hah!! *If* she had an instructor.... Her last lessons were last Summer when we were at a Nancy Lopez clinic. She's not necessarily a great athlete but does have this freaky great eye-hand coordination!!!
  12. Nice! I was kinda thinking about .. but only *thinking about* .. so I guess this comment belongs in that other thread .. a Mavrik 4W. Let us know how (well) it worked for you!
  13. Oh oh. Hate when that happens! That's why I don't carry a driver But actually the last few rounds I've been doing better, and have been more consistent, with my 4W so just sticking with that for now while I continue to work on the full swing. I'll take the driver to the range a few times over the Winter and .. who knows? .. maybe next Spring.....
  14. Had a decent range session today; tested a new club .. love it .. and a few older clubs that have been sitting in the garage to see if they might get a spot in the bag .. they're going back into the garage Then did some putting, working on distance control .. and some chipping, working on a technique my pro showed me in our lesson yesterday. My chipping seems to have become the weak spot in my game lately so really need to keep working on it......
  15. I didn't "need" it .. of course! .. I still really like my XR 4H and get a lotta good use out of it, but .. that one's getting on like 5+years old now ya know But I've seen several pretty favorable reviews and comments about the Super Hybrid. I just hit it with the stock settings so far, and it really is easy to launch and wanted to send the ball high and straight Next range sesh may experiment with the settings and also hit side by side vs the XR.
  16. So, uhhhh, this happened... Yep that's a (well, another one posted in this thread) Cally Super Hybrid. And yep - CPO BF deal. This one's a 23° and I picked one with a Project X Catalyst shaft in it, knowing I don't have the swing speed for the Tensei CK Pro Orange. It's a 5.0 flex, though - I'd usually play 5.5 - but thought it might pair well for me with this head. But.. just in case.. there was a Recoil 780 hybrid F3 shaft .. at the same playing length .. at what seemed a silly low price so grabbed it as a backup (and knowing that I like Recoils). This may be the first CPO club I bought that was not "Like New" .. ...there are some light marks on the face and one small chip where the face meets the crown, but otherwise in great shape and they graded it fairly. And, no surprise - took it to the range this afternoon. And, in a bit of a surprise to me .. not knowing what to expect .. I LOVE IT!!!
  17. FYI for V3 users - if you didn't see it yet, ShotScope announced a firmware update.
  18. I keep a pet hair pickup brush next to the mat .. as an important accessory!
  19. Yes, definitely .. I'd agree that's true anywhere, with any pro... But sorry to hear about your negative experience. My initial hesitation going there was I thought they'd be too "formulaic" .. and it sounds like your pro was rigidly by the book. Maybe (if you still have the patience) try... Going on to your location's website and check out the other instructors at your center; then.. Schedule a time with the coach that looks better to you. If that doesn't work, find out who the center's manager is and *call* to speak with them. If that doesn't work, maybe try to contact GolfTec HQ (in Colorado, I think?) Or - see if you can convert the remaining lessons into Practice time (if that interests you). Too bad that instructor was not more receptive to your input! The student is supposed to be able to tell the instructor what he/she wants to work on.
  20. You know after you hit a tee shot OB .. and re-tee .. and then absolutely nail the next one..? Well in this case the saying is... "Golf is eeeasy .. just hit your second shot, first."
  21. Good stuff!!! Easy to see you've been working hard What club / distance you working on in the "After" vid? I have another lesson scheduled for tomorrow and plan on asking my coach to look at some short game action .. my chipping last several rounds has been waaaay weak......
