  3. Was a great video. Really excited for these irons. Thanks for posting!
  4. Yes, I should have mentioned we are hoping to get 4 Divisions each of which would be after a certain mod or member who are helping run this as well as the PGA Tour threads. Any guesses? Other than the obvious Tim and myself?
  5. In coordination with our PGA Tour threads that will be coming out this year we are going to run a pick'em series once again. However we are running it slightly different to last year and will hopefully get more full time engagement on these! We are triple confirming the platform we will use, however believe we have one set up. The Pick'em league site we are looking at using is free, however only up to 15 people. So we are going to make several divisions with the same settings. Depending on how many we get involved will depend on the divisions. When will it start? We are looking at a kickoff for Pebble Beach in a few weeks time to allow us to get everything settled sorted and organized. How does it work? Each week go in set your lineup of 5 golfers who are playing in the field. The standings works by money earned totals. The Catch? We are finalizing this, however you will only be able to select golfers limited times. No running back the same 5 guys week over week. However we will make it a generous amount (thinking between 8-10) and this way you have a bit more flexibility, but also a bit more strategy as well. The Prize? This is still tbd on what we can get, last year we were able to provide the winner with a testing opportunity. While we cannot guarantee that we will have something for the year long winner. This will be for the Series total (best of all the divisions), maybe if we are lucky we can get something for the division champs as well. How do you sign up? Well we are going to get interest first, so if you are interested post in this thread and let us know that you want to join. When we have everything finalized we will get everyone split into divisions and then send you a PM for your league invite. Cost: Nothing - just if you are joining please try to make an effort to update your picks weekly. It normally takes about 40 seconds to do. As for the normal fantasy league, that is still TBD however we should have more info on that in the coming week or so. So stay tuned!
  6. New year and did a complete reset on all the irons. I've noticed that the rusting process certainly did make a difference and you can see corrosion in areas and thankfully because I kept the face neutral through all of this it is still super clean. Not sure where I take these next, but was nice to get them back to this state and decide on how I want them to look into a new year.
  7. Not going to lie I was disappointed to see that @GolfSpy_BOS wasn't given an invite.
  8. Fellow lefty here... and sub70 iron owner. I'll give sub 70 another shout out for the 699. Should provide plenty of forgiveness at a price that is suitable. They do have a certified used section as well fwiw. Depending on what you are looking for Mizuno Hot Metal comes to mind as well. I am sure you could find used sets in good condition that would match what you are looking for. Finally Srixon could be another one that is worth checking out. In the end all the companies make some good "forgiving" irons and comes down to how much you want to spend and whether you are going brand new, certified used (callaway preowned for example) or used used (ebay type). Let us know how it works out and what you end up going with!
  9. EDIT: Looks like I am late to the party and you already found the answer, but anyway my response is below if interested. Hzrdus Smoke Yellow is a counter balanced shaft so although 75 grams going to a non counter balanced 80 I believe it is going to feel a lot heavier. At least I think. As for the company accuflex. Can't say I've heard of it and would be nice to find a ei curve, but based on the description on their site it has a unique profile.
  10. There will always be those who are passionate or have strong feelings about a subject (goodness just look at the LIV thread ... Or better don't!) and I am glad you have shared yours. Fwiw I'm in the same camp as you believing it would do more harm than good. Altho i browse on other forums I rarely post and understandably so my focus is here and haven't seen this topic on others (or i simply haven't looked hard enough). I do kinda wonder where this idea originated...
  11. Have to thank MGS HQ for giving us access to post these! All taken by them, I'm just the lucky one to post them.
  12. Well since you guys are a little curious... lets get some photos up of these! A shoutout to Srixon for just making a clean iron to look at and one that is underrated, but should appeal to many when they actually get them in their hands!
  13. The subject which was asked is one I am sure many are curious about and it is good that it was asked. Often earlier threads on this topic and others will get lost in the weeds of thousands of posts and threads so bringing this back to light is well worth while to have the discussion. Even if it has been discussed before... that is okay! Another thing for all of us to remember is that there are many new to the forum and finding new things (such as yourself) and we want you as well as anyone else to feel comfortable asking whatever question you have. Of course we encourage reading prior threads, but sometimes they can be harder to find as mentioned or maybe old enough that they aren't as relevant. I am glad you found answers or responses that are useful on both sides to help you with the entire though process. In addition with golf being such a unique game for each individual all will have different thoughts, methods or strategies on how to improve. It is a big reason why we are all here to discuss them even if we feel passionate about one method vs another. I can only hope that we have many more of these questions asked from new members that help bring more conversation and eyes to the forum to help them find the answers they are looking for (good or bad) with such a wealth of experience and knowledge we have amongst all of our existing members and members to come!
  14. I have also liked your comment to hopefully allow you to replicate the issue so we can help resolve it.
  15. https://mygolfspy.com/srixon-zx-mk-ii-irons/ Not to be forgotten our MGS article came out on these and is as always expertly written. Also one of my favorite part about John's articles is he gives you the quick hit key takeaways right away. SRIXON ZX MK II IRONS – KEY TAKEAWAYS Updates to ZX7, ZX5 and ZX4 models and utility irons Designed for combo sets—all toplines the same width New Z-Forged blades also part of the release $1,199 for a 7-piece set; Utility irons $239.99 Available Jan 20; blades April 19 Hopefully going to be able to find a set of these to test this season!
  16. Awesome write up! So did you get any real work done today? Hehe
  17. I wonder how it would compare to drive to survive as that is the model they were kinda following.
  18. Can you send screenshots? Not sure I entirely understand and should be able to find a solution.
  19. I am really thinking about adding a Evnroll putter to the bag this year. Also may change out my most lofted wedge which may end going the Mizuno route which would add another brand to the bag. As an update Titleist Cobra Ping Sub70 Odyssey Right now... lets see what 2023 holds though.
  20. Pretty sure this is where I settled. I have such limited time even before baby number 2 that spending all that extra time driving is no fun. Plus I have really enjoyed those that I played with at this closer course. Not a lot of elevation and it is pretty straightforward, but still a solid course that is worth playing regularly. Appreciate the response! Also no need to be sorry! These threads often get buried... in other good news they have a artificial putting green for kids to practice on and my wife is interesting in trying to play a bit this year so hoping we can make it a bit of a family thing. Plus with this particular membership it does not include weekends so I can make sure I have those open and free for family time and not have the temptation of going to sneak in a round when I should be home haha
  21. Been a bit jealous of you guys that have been playing. Courses are open here, but I simply just haven't had the time to make it work to get out yet. Maybe February will be my month!
