  1. I could say I am a bit in the same boat. I much prefer my 54 or 50 in a lot of situations vs my 58. However I also if I can like to play for a bit of roll out and feel I have more predictable control with those clubs vs the 58. This means that I have a variety of different swings (lengths) with those clubs. I still use my 58 fairly often, however rarely ever on full shots. Its mainly out of bunkers and that sort of play where it gets the majority of its use.
  2. I think this also has something to do with Pings irons being cast vs forged. The i210's I had were used for a good 5 years and hundreds of rounds, but looked in near new condition still. Forged irons seem to show and wear their nicks a lot sooner so for those who like their clubs looking brand new well it can show both ways...
  3. I have a 2 and 4 in the G410 and they are great clubs. I have evenflow black shafts in both. A couple things that intrigued me about the new ones is they made them a bit shorter than previous versions for more control and can say that this could be something that would be good to do with mine. The 4 in particular feels a shade long. Anyway they seem to be underrated or lesser reviewed and seemingly good value with the new adjustability and so on.
  4. There is something to these new non bland steel putter shafts. From the Fuji one we have our evnroll testers use, Odyssey strokelab and now these as well as I am sure many others I definitely believe they make a huge difference and with the upgrade charge being so little it is a no brainer in my books.
  5. Now just make those temps C° and you're set!
  6. I would love it just for the experience. Altho i am more likely going to end up on the far right fairway than the water haha
  7. Brought on by another member in their thread, but he managed to play 14 different courses this year! How many different courses did you play and what was your favorite of the season? I know many of you have time left in your seasons and some of you already have snow or the courses are shut down. For me I played 8 different courses. Otelfingen Championship 18 Oberkirch Panorama 18 Schloss Goldenberg 18 Gonten 18 Holzhäusen 18 Weggen 9 Moossee 6 hole course (3 times haha) Limpachtal 9 hole I may still yet get another couple on my list here, however given the conditions I have experienced the last couple rounds I would say I am going to call it a season. Love golfing, but with it being so wet and muddy it really isn't a whole lot of fun. So what courses did you play? How many would be your goal for next year?
  8. So many courses! That's awesome. Have any you are itching to get back to next season?
  9. WIth Harry headed off to Wilson what better time to give Wilson Staff a little boost and show off their D9 Forged Irons. Wilson irons are criminally underrated and everyone I've talked to who has put them in their hands and tried them has loved them. Maybe it is the value they bring in a forged iron for a cheaper price or it is the name and the history of the brand, but there is no doubt the irons are seriously good. Have you played Wilson irons before? What was your favorite set or have you kinda forgotten about Wilson Staff altogether?
  10. A large part of it comes from golf being very exclusive, it only in the last X number of years is becoming a lot more accessible. It is still pretty expensive and is growing largely due to the migro courses (larger company which owns several). The other part is Swiss people like to be very good at things. I noticed this with English where many are hesitant to speak English for fear it is not that good, when in reality it is much better than they believe. Even where I work at the curling Hall I have several seniors who take private lessons to get better and do this several times a week. This is unheard of in Canada. Courses often have 5 to 10 pros that work for lessons and getting times with them can be difficult. As for the laws well I can really only speak to visas and that as I've had to go through that. The rest is pretty simple and here Cantons (states for the US) largely are independent and have their own things. There is your swiss lesson for your Monday morning coffee!
  11. Huge congrats and thanks for sharing. That's awesome and cool you have a friend who is enjoying the game like he is. Great to hear about your round and looking forward to hearing more about future rounds! Again big congrats! 37 is s big deal for sure and hopefully will be a boost for your game moving forward.
  12. I am based in Switzerland so Florida is certainly easier to get to, however I do have Bandon on my to do list as well. However with a growing family that will have to wait a few years. I am thinking doing it for my 40th or something like that.
  13. Made a little putting practice with the fetch. Dialed in the length of shaft and got a feel for the weight. I still prefer the overall swing feel of the Strokelab how we much prefer the face of the ping. Still wondering if i could do a Swap...
  14. I know it's not but I'm imagining all the plaster marks in the ceiling as areas a Club or Ball has hit and been patched Keep up the great work!
  15. Enjoyed this video and felt like it is what I have been doing and going through over the last number of years. What one was your favorite of the bunch or did he leave any out that you would put in?
  16. https://golf.com/instruction/rules/10-lefty-golfer-struggles/ I can't say I agree with any of these.
  17. I believe most have a small LH on them or another method of determining if it is LH vs RH. I got tricked by Cobra with this with my fly Z+. Titleist has one for all with the charts being different. Callaway has LH listed as well. I am curious the percentage of LH golfers in different countries. Canada is high and it was super easy to find gear. Switzerland sucks for it! I have only played with 2 other LH golfers since moving here too.
  18. Certainly an interesting take. I would suggest that there has been a good amount of progression in a variety of areas for putters. Sure it could be seen as more subtle, however here are some examples. Evnroll grooves Stability Shaft and Strokelab Shaft Edel fitting system (alignment, mechanics and visuals) LAB putters and their hole system SIK Putter Face Cobra 3D Printed putters and much more There have also been banned or controversial changes such as the broomstick putter or arm lock. I think there will always a part with putters where looks and preference play a larger part in a golfers perception of how good a putter is (I know the shapes and designs I like or have had more success with). I would suggest that golfers in general feel they should make more putts then the statistics would actual be and this could lead them down a path of having a desire for a new flat stick. Also I am not sure how many have done a proper putter fitting? While many will automatically do a driver fitting. A putter is a easier OTR purchase in general. That being said I am curious where you feel they could do a lot better in terms of performance. Not saying at all there isn't room for improvement, but curious where you believe the most glaring weaknesses are?
  19. Considering I wanted the black originally this was more of the look I was going for. The other part of this whole thing is it is so easy to go back to basically standard with a little steel wool and work. The faces I've kept original and untouched so the playability has no change.
  20. I'll fully admit I have had way too much fun with these irons as a side project and getting the look I prefer. I have what I wish would be the final look on the A-6 iron. However I think that the finish will wear... which is fine! These are fantastic irons and regardless of how they look or wear I will continue to game them for the forseeable future. I meant to update as well, but I have used the A wedge more for around the greens and it has been stellar. Predictable, good feel and decent check. I just have fun using these irons and my confidence is certainly growing with them. I am loosing some left, however that is largely due to my swing changes and getting rid of the trappy hook. With that here is a photo dump. And yes I put a small amount of clear coat on them to hopefully help reserve the finish. Sorry some of the pictures are a bit blurry. My phone camera is well not great and waiting to get the new Pixel... other story though.
  21. When I lived in Canada I had purchased a decent amount of Clubs through eBay, however later on I didn't find great deals. I checked them out recently and it was much of the same. I've found for used clubs places like Facebook marketplace or other used BST sites better. Including ours here. However clubs4cash UK is also great. What sites do you use? How are selections? Is rockbottom still one of the better sites in the US?
  22. Won a bid on one of my favorite putters that I've never owned. OG Ping Fetch Pick up is tomorrow morning!
