  1. What is offputting or the part that you don't like out of curiosity?
  2. I like your thinking! Never a bad thing to have a couple backups just in case something happens along the way or that your swing changes. I will say my tsi3 has really outdone itself in the most recent round. It has been such a dream to not have to worry about hooking it off the planet and still be able to really go after the ball.
  3. Please go through and read this as it should help clarify some of the things you have been asking about or are questioning. https://www.si.com/golf/news/what-will-the-new-pga-tour-look-like-an-analysis-of-the-changes Also note the other elevated events have been announced as this is an older ish article. The top 20 is for PIP. This was previously top 10. Top 20 in PIP gets bonus money however non guaranteed spots in the elevated events as well as they are required to play them (exceptions of course are being made due to injury, absence and potential DP World Tour starts for Ryder Cup eligibility) I will admit I was wrong about that as I thought it was a perk of PIP. Example given is Fowler. The Top 20 in PIP isn't just playing, it is based on a whole level of things which can be seen in some cases as a popularity contest, but is trying to gauge overall value to the tour and what those players are bringing in to the tour and therefore rewards them for that. Bottom line, performance and actually playing well still really matters in the PGA Tour. You must play well in order to earn your money, where its questionable to say that for LIV. Yes, a lot of money on the line for winning, but just look at Perez who has earned way too much for shooting average scores at best due to the team aspect.
  4. From a couple days ago, but worth the shout out for us gear heads. Worth the read and curious what your thoughts are on some of these brands? Have any of you played some of the smaller Japanese brands not named Mizuno? I know there are some Muira users on the forum, but I don't see them around all too often. https://mygolfspy.com/where-did-all-the-japanese-brands-go/
  5. @Golfspy_Lukes Was there anything that stood out to you in the recent TXG Matt fit videos, whether it be his driver, 3 wood or 5 wood? I know Matt has speed a lot of us can only dream of, but curious if there were any take aways that you may have noticed which could be relevant to us on the equipment side or swing side which was pointed out?
  6. Maybe some of it depends on your course that you play. However being able to play driver can give such a good advantage over a long iron in terms of distance. I would say try to overcome your fears of using driver. Get a good fit and see what works well for you and hopefully it will help improve your overall game! Will be curious to find out what route you take and how things go with your game moving forward!
  7. Before I post the photos I will answer these! The main difference for me between the Nippons and KBS are that I can go a little harder at the ball with the KBS than the Nippon and still get a good result. I still think I could play either or easily on any given day and there isnt that big of a difference. However the KBS are just a shade firmer and heavier which is what I was looking for. Feel is still there, comfort level is there and I think the KBS early struggles have made me adjust my swing with a better more reliable spot. Yesterday where I was on some softer turf the v sole was able to get in and out so smooth and quick with these nice brief divots. It is such a stark change from the pings wide sole and certainly took a bit to get use to, but again the results have been exactly what I was looking for. Okay now the photos! 5 Iron 6 Iron 7 Iron 8 Iron 9 Iron Pitch Approach I truly love the look of these and how they have turned out. I have got so many comments on them on both sides. It has been fun to explain the process and so on as well. I will say I never thought it would take so much time to make these irons look like they are old and worn haha The other part I like about how I have gone through this is they are easily polished up a bit and to make a little cleaner. The look is what you want to make of it. However for me with the black shafts this is truly exactly what I wanted. Only downside is the engraving on the back has all but gone away. However not the biggest deal because it can be cleaned up and come right back if I wanted.
  8. Time for an update for the current setup. Driver: TSi3 9* Weight Neutral, B1 setting with fubuki xtc 60 S flex 3 Wood: Cobra Speedzone 3 wood 15.5* with Fujikura S flex 7 Wood: Cobra F7 7 Wood with Fujikura S Flex 4 Crossover: Ping G410 Crossover with Evnflow Black 5-A Wedge: Sub70 659 TC Raw with KBS Tour V 90 Black PVD S Flex 54* Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth with Nippon 105 S flex 58* Ping Glide 2.0 with Nippon 105 S flex Putter: Odyssey Stroke Lab 7 Ball: Vice Tour As for future changes Driver spot is going to go through a big test with a PXG 0211 on the way and the Callaway Max LS still right there. At the end I will of the offseason I will have one winner and play it for the season. 3 Wood- The King SZ head and F7 Head will go head to head as well post driver testing. 7 wood or what else? This spot is always tough for me and I dont often use this club on course so maybe go hybrid? Maybe just ditch it and add a wedge? I don't know, but we will see how the numbers shake out. Happy with the Vice Tour. Not the greatest feeling of golf balls I have used, but round one it performed well in all areas and I was happy with the flight, spin and shots.
  9. Played a course for the second time yesterday. It is an alpine course that isn't too long, but has a lot of challenges in terms of slopes and OB on a lot of holes. It has fairways that cross each other, water on plenty of holes and height variations that make it a very challenging course. The first time around I played okay, but a struggling driver lead to a woeful score of 93. New driver in hand, renewed confidence and some course knowledge I was ready to take on the course again and put up a solid score. The first hole was a disaster triple on a par 3. Couldn't help but laugh it off and move on. Which worked as I got a birdie! However today was not the day to go low as for the first time in forever my putting was just awful. My most reliable skill golfing turned to a struggle on every hole. We tee'd off early morning and the pace of the greens dramatically changed as they were super wet and slow to start and as they dried off the speed made such a climb and I wasn't able to adjust. On holes 9,10, 12,16,17,18 I was on the green in reg and left with longer ish putts, but ones I was comfortable with and ended up with bogies. It was just annoying more than anything. So with a good 6 shots dropped there and my triple on 1 I still managed to shoot 82 on a par 71. Had two nice birdies on 2 and 11 to salvage the round. As a whole I was happy. I had a ton of fun and felt like I got some redemption on the course from my first time. I had good drives, didn't loose a ball all round for the second time in the last 3 rounds and for the most part managed my distances well with my irons. I do need to work on par 3s and simply just getting on the green, but it is good to feel as though things are turning around and the confidence is growing. Here are some photos from the day/course.
  10. In this week's set of photos we are showing off Taylormade's Hi-Toe Wedge. We recently had a zoom call with Phillip at MGS Blog about wedges where a whole host of questions were asked and answered. So what better time to show off some sleek maybe polarizing looking wedges from Taylormade. I love these and think they are fantastic looking wedges, even if I don't game them and prefer my Pings, however what do you guys think? Are full face wedges what you like or prefer? What about the high toe? Is this just a fad or have you seen performance benefits from this style of wedge?
  11. I'll have mine posted first thing with the score card. Score was 82 Course Rating: 69.3 Slope: 131 Par 71 Hdcp has gone to an 10! Closer to my single digits Long drive was 278. Net birdies have to check, but had 2 real ones!! .
  12. If you are an apple user i think Arccos is great. If you are an Android user then the experience leaves some to be desired and there is a performance gap. At least this is what I have found in my experience. Due to this i think this may be my last year with arccos.
  13. Think so? At least from my thinking the t400 is aimed at a specific set of golfers who are loosing distance and want to regain or retain some. As long as they still fly high it really shouldn't matter what the lofts are. It would likely make a combo set harder to work, but with tech going as far as it has its pretty much shown that lofts can be super strong and we still see similar launch conditions as more modern lofts.
  14. It is similar here in Switzerland needing a handicap. Thankfully there is a company called Migro that owns 7 courses which are more reasonable and open to public. Really cool that you play year round. Japan is on my bucket list as I was supposed to go a few years back. Would love to see photos of the courses you play and can't wait to hear about the clubs in play on grass!
  15. Exciting opportunity! Should be a lot of fun and a good having experience.
  16. Yeah the funny thing is he took them in the day light and just with the camera and lighting that was what he was able to produce. Photography has always interested me so it is cool to have someone who actually knows what they are doing talking me through the ins and outs of it.
  17. Kicked out of what? If any may be a limited field event (like the masters) than fewer will make it,but it will still be 72+ in the event. https://english.stadiumastro.com/sports-others/pga-tour-announces-four-new-elevated-events-2023-season-combat-liv-golf-222665 The top 20 is simply just a guarantee into those elevated events. It does not preclude others from being able to enter our earn their way in those events as they would any other PGA tour event.
  18. Huh? https://www.owgr.com/ https://www.pgatour.com/fedexcup/official-standings.html It's not a selection like LIV. You earn your spot in the top 20, 30, 60, 125 and so on in the PGA tour. It isn't an invitational like LIV.
  19. mens length. Just a difference in flex. Even the grip is a good size.
  20. I like what you're saying about finding clubs in the woods at a course and using them during the round. Sounds like a fun albeit unrealistic challenge to me! Every 4-6 holes find some new clubs to use till the next ones.
  21. I am a browser user and will continue to be. I was happy we brought back Tapatalk function to the forum though. We have seen that there are several which have decided to use it. The only function that Taptalk is missing at the moment is testing signup and AMA. Everything else is able to be viewed. It isn't my favorite, but we are happy to be able to provide another way for those who wish to view and engage in the forum via Taptalk.
  22. I posted it in the what have you bought recently thread, but I have a ladies flex for a 3 wood. Although not a Otto Phlex Driver will be interesting to see in terms of 3 wood. It has a arccos grip to so I can more easily gauge performance.
