  1. I'll admit I haven't read the full thread as of yet, but wouldn't broom force simply just be another form of resistance training? Much like baseball players putting weights on their bats. That's kinda the only benefits I could see. However a broom weighs a lot more too so chances are it could have some adverse effects in terms of positioning and timing. Just my initial thoughts. After going through the video and such I'll follow up.
  2. There are so many good drivers out there. I had Ping G400 G30 and i25. All were fantastic. I've been on a Callaway train since and really enjoy their drivers. However I do have a new one on route and will add had a lot of success with Cobra drivers as well. I would be interested in doing a member poll like what mgs brand word poll but just for members to see what's in their bags and so on.
  3. I think he was doing pretty well for himself. Plus the PGA has an amazing pension program as well as protection for when players get injured. Just saying.
  4. Shot a 58 on the Aarau 4D minigolf course while my wife shot a 60. I had 2 hole in 1s in the last 3 holes to put the match away. I had Ivan in the carrier as my handicap and had to putt one handed, but overall very satisfied with my performance. Was a fun course with some trippy visuals and one really stupid boat hole that had severe down slope then up slope with I had a max score on. Left every putt short... I'll blame it on the baby as he didn't caddy well for me on that hole!
  5. Likely been said somewhere, but yes I think Putter fittings can be worth it. If not for a new putter itself, but the education of learning what your stroke is like, what the effects of how you are putting is being influenced by putter X or Y and so on. That being said if there was one company I would suggest looking into it is Edel. @GolfSpy MPR had some really cool insights with his. He was (still is?) a putter tinkerer and through many different putters and variations found out after his fitting that he did eventually fit himself into a putter that was beneficial for him, however with the Edel putter he did see some marketable improvements. Of course it could depend on who or where you go, but I certainly believe that they can be beneficial. If not for the specific product, but for the education and knowledge that can be gained through the experience.
  6. That is what we are here for! We all have questions and struggles and thankfully we have a stellar community here that will offer advice as best they can. Let us know how the journey goes and what route you end up taking whether it be new driver or more lessons or both. I did note that you only mentioned older Titleist driver and not what model so maybe a newer one would be more forgiving and just help with some of that confidence. Although not as final as a result as a fitting and such we did have a interesting article on how many buy more used now. Possibly during a lesson your pro can make a suggestion for shaft weight/type and then there could be something on the used market that could help. Say Ping G400 SFT, Cobra F Max (has more offset to help slicers) Cleveland, Rogue draw and several others that are some years old, but still likely good for you as you go through the swing improvements.
  7. I ordered a net from these guys last year for my backyard and was really impressed. They have putting matts too and are UK based so it is worth checking out. https://www.networldsports.co.uk/golf/golf-putting-mats.html
  8. Got the puttout today while at work. We have an event all weekend so i can't really leave, but means i work for a hour have 2 hours off and repeat from 6am-21:00... Long day but lots of practice!
  9. As @cnosil said a new driver likely won't be the be all cure. Glad to hear you are taking lessons as that will be the biggest help. Drivers like the Ping SFT may be the ones to check out as a priority as they are marketed and built more for the issue you are having. They won't be an instant cure, but should aid in the transition. As well it may be good to play your woods but move up a tee? This could help keep you around the same lengths as when you hit driver, but also gain some confidence and not be stuck using long irons all the time.
  10. The job of a fitter should be to get said golfer into the best equipment for them and their game. That includes budget.
  11. A thread i have somehow completely missed. 6 in total. 7 if I put the hybrid in play. Some are staples and have used for years now and others have been new and fun to try. Driver - Aldila Rogue Max Fairways - Fuji stock (forget which exactly) 4 Iron/crossover - Project X Even flow Black Irons - KBS Tour V 90 Black PVD Wedges - Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter - Strokelab
  12. Was going to post my earlier round, but it came nowhere close. I knew it wasn't great, but counted it up today finally. My local course Otelfingen which i posted for last week (81) and this time around was 89 with 1 net birdies. A whopping 3 fairways hit haha and 2 greens in reg. However did have 32 putts and because arccos was on the fritz I didn't get any driving data. Course was drenched so glad I got the second round in later. I will break 80 there someday, but simply just need to find more fairways.
  13. I know you're going to get fit for all of these, but more in the 3 wood (maybe 4 wood) and hybrid would you consider going DTC? Looking forward to the journey as always and will be interested to see what you fit into. Agree that the rogue line is some of the best looking and maybe feeling. I was surprisingly put off by the stealth face, curious on your thoughts there. Enjoy the journey!
  14. Loch = Hole Weiss = White Gelb = Yellow Rot = Red Blau = Blue Herron = Man That should help. I don't think there are any other german words there to trip anyone up.
  15. Literally so many different directions to go with this. I am going to take out the most recent releases for these as I do think they have done a stellar job with their new releases of irons. P790 are an incredible club for so many, p760 are some of my favourites from a size and shape with some tech. Then some irons that really stood out to me at the time for where I was in my golfing game was the RSI series, specifically the RSI 2. I really wanted these irons and are one set that I never ended up owning, but really wish I had. However the set for me that takes the cake are ... drum roll please! Taylormade Tour Preferred MC 2014 - Tony Convey did an article on them way back in the day, however these were irons that just were stellar on all accounts for me and we even had a member review done on them way way back in the day! https://mygolfspy.com/2014-taylormade-tour-preferred-irons/
  16. The additional 4 shots for the course handicap certainly helped! Love how they do that here in Switzerland and makes it clear cut.
  17. As much fun as being on top of the leaderboard is, I am a bit nervous of being knocked out of it. However really hoping we see some more rounds! I won't be playing till next week, but hope we see some weekend rounds get submitted! ... Would love to be the first Mod to win a week!
  18. Count me as a second hand buyer for most things. Although I did get new irons they were sub70 so the price was much cheaper then others. I also normally go with demo drivers and such from courses or proshops as the values are often just too hard to pass up.
  19. I shared this story in the How Did You Play, but it is worth repeating. I have started playing with a guy who just started playing in August and caught the bug hard! We played 18 today at a tough course and because he can hit pretty long he joined us from the Whites (back tees). We played with another guy who was a 24 or so hdcp. It was a good litmus test for him. Anyway the first 7 or 8 holes were pretty good. Of course some horrific shots, but thats golf. The middle holes were a struggle with big curves on his shots, however come 17 and 18 he put it together and made a good bogey on 17 and made his first ever big boy birdie on 18. It's golf, its tough and sucks a lot of the time, but those small good shots and holes keep us coming back for more! (found out he went to his home course and range for 2 hours after to work on his game... guy is all in!) Edit: @Golfspy_TCB I had 4 Net birdies, not 6 sorry! I should have been more clear. Popped on 2 and had 2 other natural birdies.
  20. There is no question we are a much smaller community. Activity here is far lower. That has nearly always been the case. We do hope for forum growth, but it will take time still.
  21. Unfortunately not much we can do about the ads, however the banners you can remove by clicking the little X on the right. That will remove those entirely and the next time you are on the site they will not return.
  22. Best round in 2 years. Didn't quite break 80 (really really should have, but thats golf) and shot an 80. Plus for the first time in goodness knows when I didn't loose my golf ball! Was a tough track and we played from the back tees, but it was still a ton of fun. Played with a buddy of mine who is now using my old i210's and this was his 2nd time on a big boy course (need a official handicap to play on one) and he had a great front 9, but got a little tired on the back. However he got his first ever birdie on 18! Was such a cool moment for him. Hit a solid drive in the middle, went over the tree with a 6 iron and onto the green then sank a downhill 20 foot putt for birdie. The course was in great shape and is a really fun challenge. Lots of variety in the holes and good variety in the par 3 lengths. Greens were stupid fast and everytime I hit one slow it would still be right at the hole. Was good fun and hope to get back maybe for one more before the seasons end and finally crack 80 this season!
  23. I have two rounds to post. First one is from today. Golf Club Oberkirch CR: 72.4 Par 71 Slope 135 Handicap 11 Course Handicap 15 Score 80 Longest Drive 274 2 Actual Birdies and 4 Net
