Ready to go today, managed 8 holes in light rain, 9th getting heavier and umbrella up, 10th everything wet, no all weather gloves so packed in since we were at the clubhouse. Need Galway to see if it is any better

Parkland Scotland in the Spring would be an ideal test environment for the Galway rain gear. Horizontal rain, wet long grass, soggy fairways.
Over the years I had accumulated a wide collection of water proofs that now I have lost weight I have sold some of them

At the moment I'm Callaway, I've purloined my son's waterproof trousers which are a really good fit and alternate between a Stormlite and Stormguard top. Stormlite in warm weather and Stormguard when its colder.
For me it is always a trade off between comfort and looks, I hate wearing bad fitting waterproofs they look bad and for me make me play bad.

If you walk Electric Trolleys are the way to go. The market in the UK is pretty much split between Motocaddy and Powakaddy. I've used a Powakaddy for 15 years but recently moved to an Australian company called MGI for my latest. The big upside with the new trolley is battery life, it can easily do 2 rounds and is pretty compact.
With Lithium batteries the trolleys have no problem doing 18 holes on any course. My Powakaddy lasted 8 years with one battery before it packed in, with a cost of £250 to replace the battery I went for a new trolley.
One thing in the test to look for is how the non remote trolleys steer, this is a constant bug bear of mine. You set the trolley on automatic to go 30 yds towards the next tee and it veers violently off line. My experience is the adjustments for this are puny to say the least.

Wait, there's sun in the UK? Just kidding! They seem intriguing. I'll have to check out their site too.
Wish it was, 8'C and cloudy on the course today. Picture was from Tenerife in January.

I'm always on the lookout for good quality, coloured grips to match my bag setup and last. Considering I TRY to play 3 or 4 rounds a week longevity of the grips are normally an issue, especially with my 56' Wedge and Driver
In the past tried
- MCC+: Find they lasted a season due to the cord part showing high wear
- Win DriTac: great in the dry but are like a bar of soap when wet
- Numerous other grips
Was told that due to the dye used in colour grips they wear quicker so at the moment reverted back to Lamkin Crossline.
Be interested in the results of this.
I also marvel at the grips that some of my friends play with, some haven't changed them in 15+ years. I have been known to take hold of a driver of a friend and shame them to get it re-gripped.

Still struggling to do this review justice with my torn calf muscle slowly healing but managed 18 holes yesterday. Played 1st 10.5 holes with the Tour and again I can't really fault it and was pretty confident using the ball all the way round. Lost it on the 11th when trying to do a Seve type shot and cut a half swing 5i round a tree, needless to say it hit the tree and looped 100yds to the left and into the deep under growth, gone for a triple bogey 7. Used the Tour X for the next 3 holes and immediately felt it was flying so much higher than the Tour. In the past using either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x I would struggle to notice any big difference in the flight but for the Maxfli it is definitely noticeable.
I was regularly checking the ball for scuffs after what ST3LTR0 had posted and still didn't notice any major blemishes on the Tour before I lost it. The course at the moment is setup for the Winter with the yardage down to 4800 yds which means I was playing a lot of shots from 130 yds and in, which is a PW, AW, 52 or 56. Recalling back I probably hit 6 full shots with my wedges and 3 half on the 1st 10 holes and the Tour wasn't marked. I'm using an old set of Titleist SM3 wedges thru the Winter which maybe don't have the sharpest groves and I'm probably 10 mph slower but haven't notice anything yet.
Just another data point for the last 3 holes I slipped back to a 2019 ProV1 and at the 17th zipped a wedge in from 60yds ball scuffed on 1 side.
I really want to get out on the range with the launch monitor to see if what I believe I'm seeing on course matches the numbers, If the leg and weather holds then maybe this week.
BTW finished +2 with a 66 net 60. If I taken my punishment and wedged out at the 11th a par round was on the cards. When I'm playing well I think I can play impossible shots, over 45 years of playing golf and still do stupid things!!

Good start to the reviews, all. Going to be interested to see how your opinions stack up to my group from earlier in the year!
I'm trying not to cheat so trying to keep away from the earlier reviews, although curiosity is killing me.

Congratulations. One thing I would like to know is how well the cover stands up over 18 holes.
I've played with the same Maxfli Tour ball for 2 rounds so far and the cover is unblemished even after I hit a birch tree full on with my 5i (circa 110mph ball speed). Good so far.

Managed to get out today, course opened 11 holes, played with the Maxfli Tour for all 11 and was +2. Initial impression
- good feel and sound off the driver
- mid irons flight and length good and similar to my gamer.
- Longer shots seem to lack a distance.
- Seemed a bit unresponsive on the putter
- Only hit one chip because of 2. above
- Durability looks good, 1st hole pushed my drive into the trees, flushed a 5i hoping to hit a gap and ball hit a silver birch square on and was unmarked!
Lots more testing to go but I didn't revert back to my gamer during the round, didn't lose a ball and had 2 birdies.

Weather making up for the dry summer. Still no golf, weekly comp tomorrow at 11am is in jeopardy!

Dick's Sporting Goods website does not allow access outside the US. Can anybody get hold of any brochures or snap shots of the Maxfli Tour and Tour X marketing claims?
Thanks

Look what FedEx just dropped off?
Last week I played 6 consecutive days Monday to Saturday but this week it looks like it will be Thursday before I can try these out.

Shot Scope V5
Posted
Used the V2 for a season and before being selected as one of the original Arccos reviewers at GolfSpy.
Still use Arccos but would like to review how the V5 stacks up and in particular the Data Analysis which was the main reason I dropped it in favour of Arccos.
