Honestly curious on this question...Has there ever been a driver that became a desired collectors item?  Aside from maybe if it was a specific tour players actual driver, I personally can't think of one.  I can think of plenty of putters, and even a few iron sets, but not sure I've ever seen a driver.
So my first instinct would be to game it.  But then I thought about how even Nike realized their clubs were junk and quit making them.  And the biggest increase in overall driver distance on the PGA tour since the Pro v came out was when Nike quit making clubs.  So there is really zero reason to actually game it and the only thing that club is good for is as a wall hanger 🙂  Leave it in the back up bag and just admire it from time to time.

I'm putting it into play!  Take off the wrapper and use it.
I am not a collector of clubs.  I just traded 2 in to get a couple shafts for my current driver.  I don't have but a few extra clubs and they are ones that depending on the course could go in the bag for the round.  No extra putter or driver.  I guess me being the bargain hunter looks at ways to reduce cost each time I want something new.

If it's something you always wanted, then I'd put it in play.  By the time it's finally a collector's item, you'll be living years with all that curiosity and ultimate regret.  Was it really as good as it looked?   You never know until you take that wrapper off and give it a try.

I don’t collect golf clubs;  I buy and trade to get something I can play; most clubs are not investments that will produce a larger return

Just a little post review update.  Round after round these Edel SMS Pro's keep on bringing me back for more.  The feel is just so solid and meaty that they become addicting to hit.
Hit a few 4-irons off the tee where there are forced layups this week:

And here's a tee shot on a par 3 with the 9 iron.

A different hole, but I liked the placement of the tee mark on this one.  Hit flush I'm not sure there could be a better feeling iron.

I currently play those shafts, the lighter weight in the 4 and 5 iron is nice, heavier shafts in the shorter irons doesn't bother me. There doesn't seem to be any loss of accuracy or distance vs my previous set with DGHL's. Ball flight is lower though.

Your probably a better iron player than me, I can get around almost any course without shooting any big numbers and I turn a lot of bogeys into pars etc but I don’t hit full shots very well; tee, approach or otherwise. My body is too fragile and weak lol. Good information on shafts, thanks

They design allows for the same feel thru the set despite the change in weight.
the amt whites as mentioned above are what were the original amt shafts that were released. As someone who has been fit to the s300 the transition when I was fit to the white was seem less.
not a club builder but to my knowledge of building with them but to my understanding nothing special has to be done.

Your game is far better than mine but I'll toss my pennies in, take what you will.  Irons are my bread and butter, and I like hitting irons.
I've been playing the original AMTs for 3 or 4 years now--they are now sold as AMT White (this does make a difference, white will play most like vanilla DG, black and red are designed to play differently).  My AMTs came straight from the Wilson custom shop, and swing weights are all similar.  IDK what they did to keep swing weight in line, so I can't help you there.  But I do prefer to play Dynamic Gold, and to me, AMT White will fit the bill there.
However I have a love/hate  going from mid-iron to long iron.  While it (4 iron/5 iron) still plays like a DG, I find that it loads a little easier than the rest of the set and comes out a little whippy--which doesn't work well for me.  I can be much more aggressive with the heavier and shorter clubs and hit varying shots.  I find that option to decrease with the lighter shafts; as I have to be more deliberate with my delivery.
TL/DR: Ball flight and playability is in line with Dynamic Gold.  Feel is mostly in line with Dynamic Gold--long irons maybe a problem.  But the lighter weight in the long irons is easier to swing late in the round.

    Testers Announced!

    Introduction:
Are you familiar with Sacks Parente Putters? If not, don't worry; you're not alone. I stumbled upon them thanks to a Golfers Digest article discussing the remarkable surge of a putter company's stock on its Wall Street debut, and it piqued my interest.

    Why We're Interested:
At MyGolfSpy Forum, we've made it a goal for 2023 to shine a spotlight on emerging and lesser-known brands in the golfing world. We believe it's crucial to give these companies exposure while providing our members with opportunities to test, experience, and review products they might never have considered before. Sacks Parente fits this mission perfectly, and after initial discussions, they enthusiastically agreed to participate.

    Meet Sacks Parente:
So, who exactly are Sacks Parente? They're primarily a putter manufacturer renowned for their patented Ultra Low Balance Point technology (ULBP), which they claim can naturally enhance your putting stroke. Founded by golf club design and manufacturing pioneer Steve Sacks and Rich Parente, an original co-founder of Callaway, the concept of their ULBP technology was born in 2011. However, it wasn't until 2018 that Sacks Parente officially came into existence.

    Wide Range of Designs:
Sacks Parente offers an extensive array of golf putter designs catering to the preferences of most golfers. Whether you favor mallet or blade putters, there's a design that's bound to catch your eye. What sets Sacks Parente apart is their inclusion of matching Ultra-Low Balance Point putter shafts and grips with their putters. These components work harmoniously to, as they claim, help you sink more putts. With a growing presence on the PGA Tour of Champions, they're steadily gaining recognition – a development that has us at MyGolfSpy Forum excited to introduce to our forum members.
Please welcome and congratulate our testers!

srooch2 reacted to Swood1994 in Mizuno Long Game - 2023 Forum Review
It's been a while since I've posted on this thread (and the forum in general). i decided to take some time to myself to focus on family/work. none the less I played all 3 days this past weekend. Friday was a Ryder Cup style practice round leading up to My wife's family reunion golf tournament which has been going on for 29 years! Moving into Sunday my brother-in-law were able to play at his dad's private club, one of my favorites in our area.
The Mizuno's performed flawlessly all weekend and I had some pretty incredible shots I have to say. The Paradym is officially staying in the bag due to a few reasons but I am a lot more comfortable with it. I have been having my FIL hit the Mizuno ST-X when he is up at the club and got some notes from his perspective.
    - Loves the look of the driver (similarly to me and the rest of the testers). He found good dispersion with the ST-X. As a natural drawer of the ball he mentioned the club still sat neutral at address even for a draw-biased club, which he was concerned about.
    - He played 9 with it and hit 4/6 fairways with one missing just right in the first cut of rough.
    - distance was tough to measure as the course was wet and soft and they just verticut the fairways cutting the roll out. He mentioned having a few spots the ball end up 2-5 yards from the landing spot.

Now onto the Hybrid & 3-Wood from this past weekend:
    - We were playing into some pretty strong winds gusting to ~20 MPH at times. Both clubs were able to be flighted and shaped to help work shots into the wind.
    - I had one top off the deck with the 3-wood but I have to take the good with the bad. This was also a buttery 260 yard cut to the corner on a par 5, still made birdie!
    - Hybrid from 228 severe ball above my feet lie. Hit a slinging draw (thanks lie) up against the wind and ended up rolling just off the back of the green on a par 5 in 2.
Both clubs continue to impress me and I'm learning more and more how to play them better. They have a very solid position in my bag currently.

Well, just want to reiterate the headline of my Driver review: This is a driver that you can hit most anywhere on the face and it comes out relatively straight and retains ball speed.
I swear I almost missed the clubhead with a driver swing this weekend (like hit the HEEL of the heel) and it still went 275 yds. Amazing stuff. Love love this driver and I would have NEVER tried it out if not for Mizuno's test. Should be in the rotation for anyone that wants consistency of distance and control over total ball speed.
It makes me want to hit the new Mizuno ST-G just to see if it is any faster. Am I a Mizuno fan boy now?
Also, I am starting to think that the shaft in my utility iron is the problem but that could be an expensive test. Might just try to find a Fli Hi with a different shaft to test out.

Here's hoping that with the humidity reduced there now, you have much better success than in the summer months.
A tip for when installing some grips with air versus solvent, sometimes you may need to apply an extra layer of tape on the shaft to ensure that the grip has enough of a diameter on the shaft to properly adhere without solvent.

I’m getting ready to put mine back on, humidity is pretty much over here, at least the extreme. I’m gonna install mine using traditional double sided tape and adhere them on. I did experience some twisting when they were on with air recently. I had it back on one club trying it out. I don’t think this is too big of a negative but something to look out for. I’ve seen this before and for whatever reason, some grips are better than others with this method. I will do a follow soon with how I’m getting along with them, should be a big change.

    srooch2 reacted to Thin2win in unofficial: Srixon ZX7 / ZX5 combo Irons
    Hello.
First, I'd like to thanks Srixon for this very awesome opportunity. Second, the MGS forums for giving me a spot to discuss it.

The opportunity started a couple of days ago when my wife came to me saying she was thinking she wanted a new set off irons. Being the supportive husband,  we immediately got in the car to go to the local golf store. After some time on a launch monitor comparing her existing set to some options,  we walked out the door with a set of Cobra TRails for her, and a combo set of Srixons ordered for me.

It turns out Srixon was running a fathers day special open to all forum members and all humans world wide( maybe not lefties). I was able to pay full retail price and will now be waiting 2-3 weeks for delivery.

So arriving in the next few weeks will be a combo set of ZX7s (PW-7i) and ZX5s (6-5i). They are coming with steelfiber i95s in stiff.
My golf season this year has been the first  where on average,  I'm just worse than I've been before. Basically, Justin Thomas and I are taking 2023 to refocus,  and re-commit ourselves to our relationships with golf.
My iron play has been particularly poor. In my last 3 rounds,  I've hit 3 of 12 par 3s. 2 of those were the same 100y par 3( I did birdie it both times), the other was a 175y hole that I hit driver on... my iron play was so bad during that round that on the 12th hole I made the very sane choice to continue using only driver. Which I used to par 3 holes in a row, including winning the KP on the par 3. So maybe that is my best strategy going forward....
Things I'll be eager to see once these arrive: do they include a Brooks Keopka temporary tattoo? Can I hit a par 3 with them? Will they successfully find a spot next to my driver as the only club in my bag right now? Will I find them so good looking that I give up on life, put sweatpants on and buy iron covers for them? Is there a real yardage gap between the 7i/6i split?
I could have gone full ZX7, or full ZX5. They both were great in the magical confines of a store hitting bay. The feel and consistency on them was so good, they are probably illegally in 13 states. But the feels on the ZX7....

Follow along or not,  I'll still give grades and some feedback.  More to come.

The Official Unofficial review or Maybe is it is an Unofficial Official review:
Just like a holiday Trifle, there are a few layers to this review. The Grip, shaft, ZX5 and ZX7 heads.

First, PURE grips. I won't say you are wrong if you haven't tried them. But really, you should try them. They are like the Iomic Sticky and the Golfpride Tour Velvet had a fun night in Havana. Taking the best parts of both to make something much better than either could achieve. I'm all in on them. They don't wear out, they don't get slick, they aren't overtly abrasive or soft. They are basically the best golf grip made, and I love being able to use an air compressor to put them on in less than a minute.
    PURE grips: 10/10
Next, the Steelfiber i95 Shafts. They are really boring. They don't feel explosive, or dynamic. They just deliver the clubhead where I expect them to and how I want them to every single time. Compared to my former Recoils, they are less active and feel more stable. Some where in the combination of them and the clubheads I can't imagine what else I would want them to be(okay, maybe a limited edition black color). They are an older technology, but Aerotech and their Steelfiber shafts look to be used by 7 of the top 10 LPGA players on the planet. That is a solid endorsement from the group of golfers I play the same Swing Speeds as.
    SteelFiber i95: 9.5/10
Srixon ZX5 MKII heads: I will say you are wrong if you haven't tried these. They might not be the right club for you, but you would just be silly to buy something on the market without giving these some swings. They did things in the MGS Most Wanted testing, https://mygolfspy.com/buyers-guides/irons/best-players-distance-irons-2023/
Somehow in the last 3 weeks my 5i has become a club that I look forward to hitting. That isn't a feeling I've had before. I've used my 5i more in the last few rounds than I might have all of last year because I have so much confidence in it. I missed 1 green with it on my last round, a pull to the left. But used it 5 other times, tee shots, lay ups, and approaches and every time I got exactly the shot I wanted. The pull to the left was still pin high and I was able to get the up and down for the par. They aren't the softest more pure feeling club I have ever hit(see below), but they are really close. And they have magical launch properties attached to supermodel good looks. I feel like most OEMs are putting out lots of really good products, but these are a product that puts a gap on the field.
    ZX5 MKII's: 10/10
Lastly, the ZX7 MKII heads. I don't have Brooks Koepka's ball striking. I don't even know that I have the ball striking of a D3 player. But they were on the rack, and I asked to test them.
And that was that. My last 9 holes of golf, a personal best of 2 under. More has to happen than just iron play to get a good score. You need to do all the other things too. But hitting every approach to the distance you need on the line you want sure makes it easy. I had 3 birdies on the back, 5 on the round and hard lipped 2 more from about 8'. On the 18th hole I had 140y, over a creek, uphill to the pin. I was sitting at 2 under, which I was aware of. My playing partners who were playing for skins were also aware and decided that this was the moment that they needed to remind me that I was 2 under, hitting over a creek and hadn't mishit a shot yet on the round. What are friends for? 😃  Stuffed a 9i to 7' and smiled.
The ZX7 MKIIs are the best feeling(subjective), most consistent(subjective) and best looking(fact) clubs on the market. They let you, and enable you to hit any shot you want. Low pull cut, high push draw, stinger, or just standard pin seeking darts. They have more spin, and a little lower launch than the ZX5s for me, but the right amount more and less. With the ZX5s I'm trying to hit the green, or the center of a fairway, and they are great. With the ZX7s I'm trying to hit a quadrant of the green, and they are exceptional. I'm glad that I have the split set, I think the 5s do what they should do and the 7s do what they should. Also, the main blog tested the MKII 7s, they did okay there too: https://mygolfspy.com/buyers-guides/irons/best-players-irons-2023/
    Srixon ZX7 MKIIs: 10/10
    Buyers Remorse: 0/10
