I live in Oregon... and I'd be willing to test it out at Bandon in the wind and rain if necessary! I'll take one for the team!

This would definitely make just hitting into the net to work on consistency so much better. With 2 daughters at home, my net gets more use than actually seeing 18 on the regular. Whoever gets the chance to test this out, I look forward to seeing your experience with it!
Thank you MGS for all these amazing opportunities to test out some amazing products!

Thanks for the response. So, you utilized it with an additional camera ie Tablet or cellphone?
I was using the original MLM which required the phone (or tablet) to be set on the radar to help with the data capture. The facetime camera on the front would record the swing and the ball tracer. I think it helped with capturing the launch angle and the club data as well. But that club data could be skewed if your angle behind the monitor was off. Other than that it was very accurate compared to a trackman whenever I was able to get on one of those.

I researched this unit a few months ago. It seems that it would be beneficial especially with the live view. How was your experience with the MLM?
It was good, it did not do a great job with direction IMO, it was very contingent on the the angle behind the ball. But the other data seems very accurate and it helps with figuring out distances and trends. I got too obsessed with the video and how my swing looked to I decided to go with just the PRGR for now. I do miss the data capture though.

I had the original Rapsodo MLM for several years and loved it. This would be nice to test to compare the two. I currently use the PRGR but find the accuracy with my wedges is poor. I switched to the PRGR primarily due to redundancy of having both and I was using the PRGR for swing speed training. Now my practice is more focused on distance control and accuracy with my iron's so this monitor would be nice to test, both on the range and in the garage.

There is a balance between newer members who have been active and contribute and veteran testers who we know what we can expect from...who are also active and engaged in the community. We have had 180ish testers this season and 80ish have been first time testers. That doesnt necessarily mean brand new to the forum, but first time testing.
There are reasons we make our selections and a process we go through. We look at a range of details when selecting members for testing that align with what the OEM may prefer or request (handicaps, geographic requests, availability and others). As well as a members post activity, posting locations, login frequency and other data which helps determine who we feel would be best for a test.
The final point which is extremely important is no one forum staff member determines who is selected. It is a group effort and we all make suggestions and provide input to decide as a group who is selected. Sometimes it is really easy, other times it is not, but we all in the end have to agree on the selections.
If you have specific questions feel free to send me a pm and I would be happy to answer or discuss them with you.
That's why it's hard to bribe them! You have to catch them all! Just kidding, I've been selected several times as a tester and the first time was when I was newer and very active on the site. I've been a member for a number of years but haven't been as active recently due to changes in my work schedule and just lack of golfing recently. Thus I haven't been selected this year; but I haven't even applied for most of the tests because I knew I wasn't able to fairly fulfill the requirements and give the test it's proper attention. Testing isn't a giveaway. It's a lot of work and you can tell that the people on here who do a good job. They are thorough get frequent opportunities because of the value they bring to the site for the rest of the members. The moderators do a wonderful job of selecting the right people in my opinion to where the products that are tested get really good review so the rest of us can get a really good sense of the product. I personally am interested in the Lamkin UTX test because I would like to switch to that style of grip but will see how others review them before making a purchase.

You want to try it out? I'm not using it anytime soon plus I have the Sim 2 in the bag right now.

Still getting used to the 849 Pro. Definitely enjoying it. My ball flight has changed to a reasonably consistent high gentle draw. I got into trouble a few times during my last round by taking the wrong line. Starting left edge of the fairway to allow for the fade doesn't work with the draw! 20 mph wind from the right didn't help either. Getting good distance, and continue to be impressed with how it performs into strong wind. Spin must be low, as I'm yet to see any hint of ballooning.
I had the same change! Ball flight is lower and with a draw vs my normal fade. I haven’t been able to get out for a month due to my shoulder but should get back into after the new year

Oh man I am not sure that is a question I can answer. All unique and different while being in the same location.
Trails has the most elevation change and not squarely on the ocean and still has great views.
Dunes has the best greens IMO. might be the easier of the four. I say that and it was my worst round of the 4, terrible day chipping and didn't capitalize when I had the chances. 18 I was pin high in 2 just off the green. Chunked my chip and 2 putted from 20' for a par.
Pacific IMO is the easily the prettiest and maybe the hardest of the 4 but very very playable. I left a lot of shots on this course.
Sheep ranch WOW what a great fun course to play. Don't be afraid to grip it and rip if your having less then stellar day with the driver. Greens need to mature but still in great shape.
If someone has never been, I would put it on your bucket list and go.
I’m an old Mac guy personally, love that place and sheep ranch was amazing, but I played it in 30 mph winds! But I agree it’s hard to pick a favorite. They’re all amazing! And yes it’s definitely a bucket trip. I’m dreaming of my return already. Just need these kids to get more self sufficient!

Back from Bandon Dunes, man what a trip and great group of guys. 16 in total ranging from +1 to 23 handicaps playing a Ryder Cup style. I won't bore you guys with un-wanted/needed details, but man did we luck out with weather. Shorts everyday and short sleeve shirts on 3 of the 4 days.
Onto putting, I personally was not good. one round I had 40 putts. Constantly leaving the ball 3'-4' from the cup and I did not make all of them and I expect to. That was my singles match that I lost 1 down. 4 putted from 120', yes it was all on the green. I didn't count anything that was off since I did use my putter A LOT from off the green. A lot of lag putts ending up within 4' was great.
Sorry to hear about your putting woah’s but I feel like those greens are just so different from the valley, it’s a tough adjustment to make. Also, let’s try to get a round in soon.

I will get to that with indoor testing I am doing. I am not a fan of the MLM dispersion since lining it up is difficult. I also have to stop a session in MLM when I switch drivers or it will average both my gamer and the Sub70...
you’re more detailed than me lol, I just track how many I hit with each then plug them into the spreadsheet! Also I agree with you on the mlm dispersion, not a great tool to track that

Got all my testing complete.... When I made tried the Dimana S Limited Shaft I saw a little bump in ball speed but mainly the launch came down where I would like it. I officially am off the Cobra driver due to this test, but I have introduced the SIM into the equation and I haven't compliled the data with that club, but it's a closer match to what the Sub70 does IMO. Look for the full review to drop this weekend!

Testing is complete. I was unable to get the trackman/foresight testing I wanted to get to, mainly due to time and my shoulder injury. But I got a full breath of data comparing a few clubs to this driver and after some tinkering with the weights. Looking forward to sharing the raw data with you all.

the carry distance seems a little low with a club head speed of 108. Weather here in OR hasn't been the best so I am wondering if that's what is keeping the numbers down. Depends on where you what range you were at as well. I know Tualatin island greens are a couple years old.
I was at Salem Golf Club and it was a cold day with some really crap balls lol. I was getting good contact in the face and the launch and direction were great. When I played in Bend last month I didn’t have a drive under 265, so I’m not too concerned.

Got the two shafts back today, but didn’t have time to hit them. I was able to get to the range for a “mental health hour” during work today. Had a good session with the driver. I’ve had to limit my full swings due to the shoulder injury but I was happy with the numbers. Only have one poor strike in the bunch.
I’ve been tinkering with the weights and loft. I’ve got it turned down to 7.5* and have the ball coming out at a better window and getting more carry than with the 9* setting.ball speed/club speed/ carry distance

@twyatt700 i really want to do the same thing! Are you buying them from sub70 or just using getting a tips to put on other shafts?
I bought a couple adapters from them and are putting them on other shafts I've picked up. Should be able to pick those up this week and maybe the shoulder will hold up for a range session this weekend.

So I don’t know if this against the rules but I am getting two other shafts built to test with the head, not sure if the riptide is the best shaft for me… I’ll let you all know when I can test them all out.
