Puku
Hi ............ all going well there should be four images here .......... I have modelled in CAD the 910 (from Titleist s own patent specification) to understand what it delivers, and does not deliver ........... There has been a progression in adjust-ability over the last 4 years or so ................................... 100 years ____glued head to shaft connection USGA rule change v1.0 ___ Mechanical connection: Callaway iMIX v2.0 ___ dLLFA _ Dependent loft lie face angle adjustment (LINKED): Taylormade R9 and Nike Str8 v2.5 ___ Partially independent loft lie face angle adjustment _ piLLFA; Titleist' s 910 v3.0 ___ Ultimate goal _ iLLFA: True iLLFA (Choose your loft lie and face angle INDEPENDENTLY) : Next ?! I could go into more detail than the attached images but will leave it for others to comment on. In summary the 910 is a clear improvement, but is far short of what can be achieved. Cheers Simon CTO, Puku Ltd, New Zealand Additional Notes (added later) ___Labels: The A1-D4 labels herein are just ones I used, and not the same as the ones Titleist used. However the actual settings herein are correct but not the labels...... for example I think my A2 is Titleist's A3 ___Correction: The face angle variation range is 2.1 not 2.6 as shown in slide 2 ___Comment: In drivers we want more face angle range, and less loft range, and probably no lie angle range at all ............. Unfortunately the T 910 delivers the smallest range in face angle - the one we want the most of .............ah well ........... you can't argue with physics/maths. ____Why?: Titleist have used a 4x4 matrix in the 910 ............ yet both a 3x3 and a 5x5 matrix would have delivered "neutral" settings on the grey horizontal and vertical lines in slide 3 ........................ Personally I can't see a benefit in Titleist not delivering neutral settings.
Matt Saternus
Wow, heckuva first post! I didn't realize that the 910's had separate (though now I know, not totally independent) loft and FA adjustments - that's a very cool feature. Thanks for the great info!
