I do like the allbirds for running errands though. But, it’s my brooks that I comfortably walked all over Switzerland with. I must have tried 12-15 different shoes before settling on the brooks ghosts as my travel shoes. While recommendations are helpful, it's so important to try out different shoes to see what is most comfortable for your feet. I have always valued comfort over style when it comes to shoes. I'm still all on for allbirds. However it's because of the water resistant nature and warmth. I spend half my day Walking on ice for work and need something that is warm, water resistant and provides grip on ice. I have yet to find a better shoe then allbirds for this. Plus the durability has been great. I still have the pair I first bought in 2019 and they are in good condition. sirchunksalot and unccross 2 Quote as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout! ctg44
I'll try to keep this short and simple. Looking for recommendations on a new golf shoe. I currently own a pair of FJ Freestyles and a pair of cheap Pumas. Neither are comfortable for me to walk in. The Pumas don't have enough cushion to be comfortable for 18 holes and they aren't waterproof (water-resistant for you special people). The FJ's no longer keep water out and something about them causes pain in my big toe on my right foot. Anyway, I'm looking for something that will be comfortable for 18 or even 36 holes and does a good job keeping water out. Spiked or spikeless doesn't really matter. Just looking for a good comfortable shoe. The best shoe I had previously was the FJ GreenJoys from a couple years ago. Anything like that would be great! I have seriously been eyeing the TRUE Original, but I'm worried about the wide toe box - their description says up to EEE for that section of the shoe. I'm worried that would allow too much movement for my foot. For reference, I'm perfectly suited to a US Men's 10.5 D... Thanks!I have been exclusively wearing Sqairz spiked shoes for about 12 months straight and for another year off and on before that. I'm fully convinced that they're the best shoes for MY feet, but that's always going to be my answer for these types of footwear questions. There's no way you can take what works for me and say for sure it will work for you unless you know you have the same shape of foot I do (and I pity you if you do). My feet are so stupidly shaped I have to buy custom ice skates to play and officiate hockey, which comes at about a $200 premium on what is already a $1000+ purchase. What the vast majority of other people have to say on footwear is useless for me, since I don't think many people have a AA width (i.e. narrower than a teenage girl) heel with a slightly wider than normal, so DD or E forefoot...oh, and my right foot is a 13 3/8 and the left is a 13 3/4...yeah...At any rate, thanks for tolerating my little rant here and I hope you have found something that works for you. unccross 1 Quote Callaway Epic Flash Tour Certified - 8.5° with MCA Tensei Raw AV White 70 Gram Tour X - Tipped 1" - Set to N / -1 Callaway AiSmoke Triple Diamond - 15* 3-wood - Project X Denali 6.5 flex shaft - Set to N/S Titleist TS2 Hybrid (18°) with MCA Tensei White AV 80X shaft - C1 setting Taylormade P7MC (2020) Irons - 4-9 (Standard L/L) with Tour Issue X100 Shafts at +5/8" Taylormade MG4 48.09SB TI X100 and 52.09SB / 56.12SB / 60.07LBV wedges with DG TI Onyx Black X100 Shafts at +5/8" Golf Pride ZGRIP Plus2 on irons and wedges (plus fairway) / Lamkin ST Hybrid Midsize on Driver / Hybrid Sik DW (2.0) C Series Putter in black finish (36") with Sik Golf Black Pistol Balls: Mostly Maxfli Tour
unccross
I’m on my feet at work a lot, so I wear cushioned running shoes like brooks glycerin, Hoka bondi, or on monster clouds. I wish someone would make a golf shoe with that amount of cushioning for walking. I assume it doesn’t make for a stable platform while swinging or something or someone would already be making them. ChiefMikeOfficer
Someone liked my old post, so had to go back and check it for accuracy -- still stand by the New Balance recommendation for walking, but there's a new leader in the clubhouse: Olukai. They're phenomenal. When I initially looked at them, I was worried about the support because of some of their non traditional features, but that has not been an issue in any way. I now have them in 4 different style/color combinations. Mark Evans
Adidas Codechaos and Ecco Biom are my favorites. Ecco's are a bit heavier than most shoes but offer the best arch support out of the box IMO. I usually put an insert called Superfeet into all my other shoes at the recommendation of a podiatrist for support. Quote MJEinSA

I have 4 different color pairs I rotate and 3 new in the box reserve Biom's. Although 75% of my rounds are walked in the white ones hence the reserves. If you pay close attention to the Ecco website they often have some great sales. There is also an Ecco store at the Premium Outlet not too far from my home where I bought two pair. $199 full price but I paid under $100 for every pair. Dpalos
I bought a pair of Footjoy Hyperflex Carbon around the new year. I've played a round just about every week in them and feel like they're easily the best golf shoe purchase I've ever made. The waterproof membrane is top tier. Haven't had a wet foot on any dewy or misty morning. Super comfortable, flexible mesh on the upper. Every time they slide on is like an "Ahh" moment, lol. The sole is a little more sturdy and great for stability on shots. It can feel a little stiff since it has that carbon plate right between the arch and heel, but I don't ever feel it or think about it. After four months of wear, I don't see any of those funky creases that can happen right around the toe area. Solid durability. I really like the side moulding that holds the laces. When you tie the shoes it feels extra supportive on the sides of my foot, kind of what I think Ironman feels when the suit goes on. I'm constantly on my feet. I work in construction, and used to be a chef for 12 years before that, so comfort while moving around has always been a top priority. At $200, I think they're a little on the pricey end. Totally worth it as I don't really buy many golf shoes. I pretty much buy whatever MGS tells me is the highest performing, so I bought them online without trying on! They definitely got this one right Edited Thursday at 12:11 AM by Dpalos Quote Tsi3 9* - Tensei AV Raw White 65s Tsi2 15* - Tensei AV Raw White 75s C721 19* HZRDUS Smoke RDX 80s JPX921 Tour - KBS $-Taper 120 4-pw T22 50*, 54*, 58* DG Tour Issue M-Craft V mallet Golf Pride MCC +4 grips
DerekB54 Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:38 AM I walked over 200 rounds last year. I LOVE my True shoes. I have many different versions, but the best for walking when it’s wet is probably the OG 1.2. I do love the Lux Sport as well, but they do lose their waterproofing after awhile. As for the wide toe box, you will be fine. Especially if you wear inserts, your feet will probably appreciate the extra room in width. True makes some great shoes and they are all I buy. If you’re not sold, I’ve heard that Ecco makes some incredible golf shoes, but I don’t own any of them. I walked over 200 rounds last year. I LOVE my True shoes. DerekB54 Posted yesterday at 03:42 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:42 AM I think there was a glitch, so if this already posted, I’m sorry. I walked over 200 rounds last year wearing exclusively True shoes, granted switching between pairs. My favorite for waterproofing is the OG 1.2. I love the Lux Sport as well, though they did lose their waterproofing after many rounds (like 100). The wide toe box shouldn’t be a problem for you. Your feet might actually appreciate the extra width, especially if you wear insoles. if you’re truly concerned, I’ve heard Ecco makes great golf shoes, though I’ve never owned a paid.
