BlueByGolf
I'm looking to buy a set of irons or a driver. What 2011 irons or driver would you buy?
RookieBlue7
I just got my Tour Issued 9064LS in and shafted it up. Took it to the LM last night and absolutely pounded it. Have Tour Issued Adams CB2/CB1 combo set on the way as well. Those two are great clubs, IMO. Adams makes some high quality stuff, and the 9064LS may, very well, be the best driver since the 9015d. Long Iron Pete
I've just bought Mizuno JPX-800 irons and driver. Very forgiving, oodles of distance and enough workability. I'd recommend proper fitting regardless of what you go for. If money were no object and I was playing off around 10-12 I'd be looking to put together a bag made up from something from the following choices: Driver: TM R11 / i15 / Callaway Lambo-Octane-new composite material / Titleist 910 D2 Fairwy woods: Titleist 910F / R11 / TM Burner / Callaway RAZR Irons: Mizuno JPX-800 Pro / Callaway Razr X / Titlesit AP2 / Nike combo set (3 different club heads across set) Driver: Mizuno JPX-800 10.5 degree; stiff shaft; Golf Pride Multi-Compound 3 Wood: Taylormade R9, stiff shaft (set to NU) Hybrid: Ping G15 17 degree; stiff graphite shaft Irons: Mizuno JPX-800; Project X 5.5; Golf Pride Multi-Compound Wedges: Cleveland CG12 52 (smoked finish), 56 (oilcan finish) & 60 degree (chrome finish) Putter: Odyssey White Ice No. 1; Scotty Cameron Studio Design No. 5 I also play a set of Titleist 1980s Tour Forged Irons with regular shaft. These are excellent for practice, as is the Titliest PT 20 degree 5 wood that accompanies them.
Matt Saternus
Irons: Mizuno MP-53's or JPX-800 Pros. I need to see what the new swing does on grass before I decide. Driver: R11 or 910 D2. Follow me on Twitter: @MattSaternus
Justin66
Whatever YOU want. There's very little difference nowadays... so as long as it sounds and looks good to you and you're properly fit- that's what matters most.
Super Tuna
Driver: 910D2, 9064LS or R11 based on what you're looking for Irons: TM Burner 2.0, Cleveland CG16's, JPX 800's and TM CB's would be on my list (I've been eyeing the 2.0 burners for a bit but would have to reshaft them with some KBS tours. Bleh to 85g shafts) However like the broken record, a fitting is better then fitting yourself unless you know exactly what you're looking for. gsjames
I went with a hybrid set of irons. Believe it or not the cheaper Tour Edge Bazookas were the best for me. Lifetime guarantee and great quality for price. But you have to try out the irons for yourself to match your swing/game. Try the Tour Edge and see if it works for you. Xamilo
If I had the money and had to buy something, I'd go for a Titleist 910D3 or an Adams 9064, and I'd go for Wilson FG Tours for irons.
