Syks7 Posted April 7, 2023 Share Posted April 7, 2023 I recognize that the board is a little on the older side of the coin, and video games may not be everyone's thing, but I was curious as to whether anyone else purchased. It officially released today I've had early access and have put a few hours into futzing around with it and from a physics perspective it might be one of the most accurate to life golf games I've seen outside a simulator. They built the physics package based on PGA shotlink, trackman data, LIDAR scans, on course observations, and conversations with supers and caddies and it shows. The ball reacts the way I would expect it to react if I were actually playing. I played zero of the courses they currently have in game & 1 that they will be adding later (LACC North) so I can't say exactly how accurate. That said I've probably spent at least 8 hours in the last two years standing by the green at #4 at Riv during Genesis and I can say that the ball appears to do exactly the same thing it does in game as it does when the pros play the hole. (You can't hold that green on a low pin if you hit the green, and it hangs up in the rough above the green or in front of it) It also uses dispersion circles for aiming so gone are the days of hitting repeatable lasers in game. I find it much more enjoyable and in a funny way, because of the dispersion circles and accuracy, I think it's going to be a hugely helpful from a course management perspective for me. After playing it Monday evening I found the dispersion circle much easier to visualize when I was playing Rustic on Tuesday. Especially off the tee where I made adjustments to may aim based on trying to keep that full circle in play. It was effectively decade foundations with an imaginary visual aid. Beyond that, its pretty cool to have such accurate representations of courses I'll never set foot on as a player... Tara Iti, Augusta National, The Countryclub. My work computer (my own company) has software I need to function as an Architect that requires a lot of ram, processing power, and a mid level graphics card. Its basically a mid tier gaming laptop. Kind of a no brainier to add the game, but it along with the masters have destroyed work productivity this week. . I will say my favorite thing so far is that they have the Masters Honorary Starters when you play in the Masters in Career Mode and it was super cool. They had their walk, their swing, the Gary Player leg kick. CSiders12 Posted April 22, 2023 Share Posted April 22, 2023 I've played the game for about 10 hours now and I'm starting to really like it. At first, I wasn't fully impressed, but now as I have learned the mechanics of the game, I think it is a really really solid game. The career mode is challenging, yet rewarding. I also really like the sponsor challenges and pro challenges. I think the more they improve the game with bug fixes, it will be one of the best golf games to be made. Also, I haven't played Augusta digitally for years. Thats a big selling point for me.
