Anyone else get the feeling his “serious illness” is a bit suspicious given he is back after a month?  Seems more like he needed to hide from people given the backlash.

Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist, but I was thinking the same thing.  If the craziness dies down, he comes back and works on the integration.  If there's too much heat, his illness becomes more serious and he retires (with a nice Saudi-funded going away gift). 

Obviously, I don't have any inside information and this is not even an educated guess!  But if I was in the same situation, I'd seriously be thinking of that escape route.

No joke, but a "Jay Monahan" was the winning caddie for Corpuz at the US Women's Open! Coincidence?  I think NOT!

He snuck away like most snakes do. His lack of backbone is now fully evident. He blew this thing up and then went to hide because his feelings got hurt on social media.  If he did have a health event it was likely self induced due to the stress he created.  
He showed that he isn’t the real power on the PGA Tour, Jimmy Dunn is. Now a month later Randall Stephenson is resigning from the PGA Tour Board.  Why did he wait a month?  My guess is he saw enough of the deal to know it isn’t good for the Tour.
 

Mohnyhan is window dressing.  He also threw everyone of the tour players under the bus.  Why would anyone of them have any respect for him at this point.  The lack of his ability to stand and fight for what you believe in or in his case what he told people he believed in is a chronic issue in society today.  There are no negative consequences for the decision makers.  Moynihan will get his payoff and will be an asterisk in history of golf when the Saudis take it over.

Maybe because the Open Championship was in progress, but it sure has been quiet since his return.

He didn't want to show up in front of any congressional hearings. Was his way to slink away from answering real questions in front of a crowd. It is honestly no surprise LIV got off the ground if that is how weak the PGA players are to allow him to continue to lead their organization. No wonder half of the top players in the world bailed.

Spinajellyfish syndrome.  The timing of the announcement and the sudden illness does seem suspicious and I'm guessing many wondered if it was simply a ruse.  I simply cannot see him staying in his current (or any position) given the very rancid feelings from a large population of the players.  The only option that would be worse is Greg Norman.

Agreed. He has now put Jason Gore in a position to be the front line person so the PGA players can complain to him. Monahan has no backbone and should be sent packing with no package.
