Quietest Indoor Practice Balls???

Recommended Posts

IMG_0666.jpeg.c3c785bd9fa3b101988ad82a547b339b.jpegGood morning everyone! I recently just set up a simulator in an small empty spare bedroom on our 3rd floor using a TrueStrike mat, Spornia net, SkyTrak+ launch monitor, and Ipad mirroring to a TV. I have real golf balls and BirdieBall practice balls. I want to start taking swings before my round, but the bedroom is located over our master bedroom and the sound of hitting a real golf ball or birdie ball is pretty loud. Ive tested it with the doors closed and it is pretty loud even 2 floors below the room. I wanted to see if "The Spies" had recommendations about a silent/quiet practice ball that will make minimal noise when striking with the club and minimal noise when hitting the net (the Spornia net is awesome and doesnt make too much noise regardless). I have very limited ball flight of course, so a practice ball flying 100 yards does not matter to me. The noise factor is of the utmost importance. Thanks for any input!!

The only thing I can thing of is foam practice balls like these, they may work.

Thanks! I appreciate the link!! I looked at the foam practice balls and will likely get some. I wanted to see if anyone had experience with a particular brand, with that specific brand hitting into a net off a mat, and the amount of noise they have noticed with those particular practice balls. Hopefully someone is in the same scenario as me and has some experience!!

The only system I know of that works with foam balls is Optishot, since it only measures the clubhead.  Foam balls still are loud, but a different sound than real balls.  Some systems might work with almost golf, but I have no idea what they sound like.

Three, Albatross'

Three Holes in One

Plus, when I was 5 the first ball I ever hit on a golf course went in the hole, so I have that going for me.

My bag is a mish mash of Srixon drivers, cobra and adams fairways, TA1 irons and Hopkins wedges, plus a Cure putter.

Thanks!! I appreciate that input!! Good to know foam balls are still loud. I did not plan to use the foam balls in conjunction with a launch monitor. The foam balls would strictly be for a few early morning swings before the round. I didnt want to wake up the wife and kids, but still wanted to get some real swings in!!

Interested if you found a solution. I've received complaints from neighbors. switched from real ball, to foam ball and still getting complaints.  Going to try SKLZ Limited-Flight Practice Impact Golf Balls next.
