Would you make the change

These guys look talented.

Not sure I'd turn my back on some less-talented players trying this...

I will probably try this next chance I get.

After retiring from the PGA of America, I did some demo days and club fitting for TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Cobra, Srixon and Mizuno.

I think a better idea is to add a slight pause (check point) at the top of the backswing. I’ve sorta done this for years with my partial shots. I get to the point that I want slight pause (thinking is that right?) then swing.

I recently added this to my full swing. The beauty of this is that from a dead stop, in order to get speed, I must sequence the downswing properly. Accuracy and consistency are much better. Distance, well that depends on how you measure it. Best shot to best shot it is perhaps a little shorter, worst to worst it is longer.

For me, my worst swings were when I start the downswing before I finished the backswing. I feel twisted and come over the top. Hit anywhere but the middle of the face.
