  1. Callaway was just at our club for a demo day and I WAS slated to try one, but changed my mind at the last minute to try the irons instead. I’ve heard good things from the guys who did hit one that day. My complaint with demo day has and always be, that I can’t play a complete round with the clubs. And aside from demo day, can’t even hit anything in the ProShop that is shrink wrapped. I would absolutely love to play with a SMOKE for a few months. Good luck people.

  2. I like the features on this bag. While I currently use a cart bag, it is worthless on the range. It’s too heavy to carry up to the range tee so I only take a hand full of clubs. I’d like a stand bag and would use it on the range, if they had as much room as cart bag … as this one appears to have. But the best feature I read about is the fully sectioned club sleeves. I have a LAB putter with a large grip, and my wedge constantly hits the putter grip when putting it back in the bag, damaging the grip over the course of a season. I’m looking forward to reading the reviews.

  3. I catch so many jokes because of the size of my DF2.1. A league member even started a complaint that I was using an illegal putter … it’s not. But I would like to try the 3.1 because I have a problem focussing on the large 2.1 head instead of the ball … I guess trying to achieve center hits … which isn’t necessary because of the moi of the ENTIRE face. Point is, I tend to over hit the 2.1 and would love to see if a smaller version of the same putter would make a difference. Whether I get this review or not, people are gonna love LAB putters.

  4. (Golf for Life) The quality of the equipments is top notch. My question to u is did u follow their exercise programs? I did not, because as with most any commercial exercise program, they do not consider whether the end user has any limitations … they are always geared toward young people with great mobility. I can’t get on my knees, and right off the bat there were exercises I could not do. Also, I’m old school … I want to work a different body area each day, and consistently. I think their approach was to mix up all exercises to keep it fresh for users and possibly keep them more engaged … I like doing the same stuff and simply increase resistance as I progress. But I like the product & use it … just doing my own thing … I’m TPI certified, so I know a little about what I want to accomplish.

  5. Great timing. I am just starting my winter, pre-next-season fitness program, including swing training using Golf Forever. It would be great to pair that with a FlightScope Mevo+. Whether selected or not, I look forward to seeing the reviews.

  6. The price of golf shirts is ridiculous. I’ve bookmarked companies with polos I want: Bill Murray, Sunday Swagger, Rhoback, USuckatGolf, RSVLTS, Footjoy … I like all of their shirts … I put them into a shopping cart … but I ultimately balk at the price. I look forward to seeing an affordable, good looking, golf polo. AND on top of that, I want to see golf polos on big men. Not skinny athletes.

  7. Is this an off season test for us above the year-round golf climate? Because I’m going to be working on my swing speed / strength from Nov thru March. But I could start sooner. I’m around 98-100 with no real advantage in S v R flexes. I would like to get to 104, where an S would help me more.

  8. We have a creek on the first hole, and on a good day I can hit into the creek. But I want to hit over it. I’ve bounced over it, but never carried over. I hit 220 yds … I just want 10 more yards. At my age I’m supposed to be getting slower. I want to see if I can get faster. I have Golf for Life, but that’s not speed training. One way or another, I’m looking forward to the results of this test.

  9. Sad to say my LAB DF2 is in the putter barrel at the pro shop along with all the new 2023 putters. Buying season doesn’t really start till May when members are active again. I really want a new driver, but $600 is ridiculous. So selling LAB & old driver to pay for it.

That said, I still love the DF2. I’m playing my old Spider X, and even tho I hit it on line, I was so much more confident of my alignment with the LAB, and I really like the feel as well. I’m asking $500 but will settle for $400 … the pro just laughs at me. But I’ll keep it and use it before I give it away. Heck I’ve got a 45 yr old Louisville Golf wooden mallet that I break out from time to time, so if I keep the LAB, I will eventually get back to it.

Hell, I’ll be in the middle of the back 9, and have the impulse to dash into the pro shop & reclaim it. So it’s all up to fate.

  10. I play Cobra RadSpeed One Length irons. I originally bought them for the express purpose of taking a bit of stress off my back bend, but have fallen in love with the consistency of the ball position. I read criticism that Cobra is not known for the feel of their irons, but I’ve gotta say I love the ball coming off the center of the face. While I would welcome an opportunity to test a one length set, I would love testing a standard Aerojet set as well.

My OL RadSpeed set is 4H, 3-GW. I also play a 10* Titleist TSi3 driver, 13.5* 3W, and 15* H, use a Callaway 56* PM grind wedge, and a Taylormade Spider X Navy. I would readily put them all in the back of the garage in order to use a full set of Cobra’s. Thx for the opportunity.

I couldn’t roll it from off the green down here, and living where I do that’s very important for someone with my level of short game.

That’s an issue I have too. Everyone looks at me like I’m squirrelly cuz I chip from the apron … I can’t putt from the apron. I thought it was me. However, in a recent 3-man low ball, my team ganged up on me because I was not gonna putt a ball less than 2’ off the green. I finally said, “fine, if u don’t care whether we lose the hole or not, I’ll do it.” I made the putt for a birdie, and we won by 1.  Hey I practice those chips … I’ve made 6 apron-chip-ins this year. But no, I don’t like putting from off the green with this putter … it’s always short.  Go figure.

  12. I really want one of the new Titleist  TSR3 drivers, but can’t justify the outlay in cash … so I worked out a deal with our pro to sell my DF2.1 for me. Sept & Oct I couldn’t buy a putt using it. Believe it or not, I pulled out my old Wilson Staff blade from 1980 & was having moderate success with it. But the day in Nov I took the DF2.1 out to the pro shop, I decided to play with it one more time … Damn! I had 3 birdies and several good 1-putts ... couldn’t miss. I fell back in love with it. So I guess I’m not getting a new driver next year!!!

  13. I’m on my second year, but recently discovered gps issues due to old old satellite maps. My course maps show sand in our bunkers … they turned them into grass bunkers almost 10 yrs ago. So my sand trap stats are bogus … and sometimes I’m putting from off the green. Issue lies with both google maps & Apple gps updating our course map. I will say Arccos has been as helpful as they possibly can … offered me my money back. But I’ll hang on a bit longer.

    I have this same issue…

I was listening to a great podcast the other day, golf SMARTER - Clear Key Golf with Our Grand Dad of the Mental Game, Cary Mumford, and I began to realize that Clear Key Golf should be applied to my putting stroke, too. I hope to test the theory this week.

  15. I’ve been struggling with the DF-2.1 lately. Not enough to ditch it, but enough to question my review. I swear I couldn’t miss with it the first month I used it … I’m pushing everything. So I went back to my putting mat & did some putting thru a track, forcing me to stay square. It helped. But what I’ve come to realize is that I fall back on the same error when my shot making struggles … I focus on mechanics instead of my target. And maybe that’s what confidence is … pulling the trigger without thinking. So putting is better. Not killer like it was. But I still love this putter.

  16. For the first 3 weeks I had the Direct Force, I putted lights out. Then weather and family issues kept me off the course for a week, and when I returned my putting had gone to hell. I was at a loss to explain it, but eventually determined that I had resorted to an older hand grip … I was pushing everything. Getting both thumbs down the big grip, and weakening my right hand, brought back my success. Turns out, when looking at the meme I posted at the end of my review, verifies that I have gotten back to what was originally working. Go figure.

  17. When you get fit for a driver, they fit it to your swing, flaws and all. It's the exact same thing here. I sent flawed data and they matched it. They had no way of knowing that I screwed up. As someone mentioned earlier, lots of people putt with the toe in the air. It was my fault, and I addressed it in my "Good/Bad" section. That does not mean however, that I think remote fitting works for putters. It's such an intuitive club, I truly want to know how it feels to me before I drop serious cash on it. ... Hey, I think I just wrote the beginning of my conclusion.

I know we spoke about this (the group) at the beginning, but it would be FASCINATING to go get an in-person fitting somewhere using their adjustable neck to see what we're fitted into to see how accurate the video fitting system is.

They had originally suggested 67° but I wanted closer. They thought 2° would be enough so I ordered 69°. I wish I had known that my Spider was 72° ... that's what I would have gone with.

Did anyone catch what the owner said in the fitting video tutorial? Paraphrasing: Grab a putter from the garage. He didn't say to use ur favorite putter. He didn't say to use ur current putter. He implied that ANY putter would be sufficient to properly find ur perfect lie angle. That bothered me.

And YES!!!! I want to physically try different lie angles. I wanted an in-person fitting. That also bothered me from the beginning.

I think putting second in a scramble is one of the hardest things if your partner can’t hit the line.

I played in a 4-man scramble a while back and I always like to go either first or last. I had picked a line and spot to putt to, and we all agreed on it ... a small spec of dried grass laying on the surface. First 2 guys missed the spot and the putt. Then the guy before me hit that spec of grass, dead on line, but left it short. Turned out, his damn ball picked up the blade of grass, removing it altogether. It blew my mind ... I had the line and then it was gone. It threw me off so much, I felt numb and my putt was just a stab in the dark, which missed, of course. So never choose a blade of grass as your spot.

Yes, I used the Odyssey. I always felt something was off with my fitting, as everyone had their results before me. I got concerned about that and called their CS.

You can measure ur lie angle with a protractor app, BUT that doesn't mean you are holding ur club at the proper angle. I measured my LAB lie angle with this method ... 68-69°, but when I measured the angle I actually held it at address it came out to approx 66-67°. I was shocked to see that my Spider is 72° but I'm holding it in my fitting video at 67°. I can see that the toe is up a bit. All this tells me that online fitting is a guessing game. So as much as I like this DF-2.1, the question arises, would I like it more at a different lie angle? I'm going in circles over this. Can't decide what to say.
