  1. The worst feeling putter for me is any putter with a metal face. I prefer putters with a soft insert. Everytime I try a milled or unmilled face putter, I hate it, they all feel too hard/harsh. Some Wilson putter I bought years ago was the worst I ever felt, also tried some Toulons and didn't care for them.
  2. I like Sky Mountain, fun course to play. Last year this time of year all these courses were waterlogged when we tripped to Mesquite and St. George for golf, I think we got one full round in on that trip.
  3. TM sent me a free 4 pack of each ball model, 2 pix 2 regular, I won't be able to test for a couple of months as I am coming off of back surgery, but I am interested in the X for sure.
  4. Personally, I don't miss any of the Liv players. I haven't watched liv and I won't. I enjoy the current PGA tour and new faces along with DP, Champions and LPGA even college golf. If Liv were to completely take over, I would stop watching PGA. Good riddance to those money grubbers with no morals, don't miss them. And for those saying PGA tour has lack of star power, remember Koepka and the rest were nobody's before winning on PGA tour. Koepka played on Asian tour and wasn't even one of the best players on his college team. Anyone can become a star if they start winning.
  5. I think some of these guys are in CYA mode just in case they decide to join Liv at some point. If they stink on the PGA tour, they can run to liv and take the money. At some point Liv will probably want to dump Wolff and will be looking for another replacement.
  6. Bushnell rangefinder, ShotScope V3 and X5, not all that happy with the X5, first one would just quit working in the middle of the round, thought battery was dead but when I plugged it in, plenty of power and it started working, did it three times, they sent me a replacement but haven't used it yet. If I am playing in a cart with GPS, I will always use that. One thing nice about having a GPS watch is if I end up in a cart path only situation, I can use the watch when I am not near a cart or cart path. Too many courses don't have clear markers anymore for distance.
  7. I always tee up or down in this case from the tee box. The only club that I have a tall tee for is my driver, any other club I tee up is set just above the grass so that I don't get any grass between my clubface and ball. Some courses that have short par 3s from the tees I play really allow me to spin the ball from a tee.
  8. I have a pair of FJ's with BOA, they don't seem to get tight enough for me. I have seen some models of golf shoes with 2 BOA tighteners per shoe on them, and it seems like they would tighten up better, but I haven't tried them yet. Most recent purchase of shoes were laced UA and laced Calloway both with replaceable spikes for a trip to Ireland. I do find I slip when wet in my spikeless shoes and I will see how my spiked shoes work in what could be wet Ireland golf in June.
  9. They took the money, Norman lied about what they would have access to, I have no sympathy for Liv, they made their bed of money, they are comfortable sleeping in it. I prefer watching the players on the PGA tour, the young huys are exciting. Liv will have a problem as their old players get older without an infusion of young talent.
  10. Titleist fanboys wet dream, just look at the comments below the video on YT.
  11. I buy a lot of clubs from the Callaway pre owned, they have not only Callaway but some other brands as well. Many mint or like new clubs are in great shape, I have many mint Callaway pre owned that still had the plastic wrap on them when I receive them.. https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com
  12. I saw 10 iron in sets many years ago, 80s and 90s or so, just another name for a PW.
  13. All advice I gave was for RIGHT handers, sorry, throw everything I said previously out the window.
  14. I am playing, OK well not playing because I just had back fusion surgery last Thursday and probably won't swing a club in anger until late May or early June, but bought Maxfli Tour in yellow, also want to try Chrome Tour in yellow and AVX in yellow. Chrome Tour intrigues me since I like the Chrome Soft X ls in yellow as one of my favorite balls.
  15. Pebble and Cypress as I am playing there in October. playing Ballybunion in June and a couple of other courses in Ireland.
  16. Even if they aren't on staff, many will have their own biases. I had one kid tell me I needed a Tensei orange shaft over and over because he played it, I passed because I didn't like the feel of it and didn't think it was correct for me.
  17. I regularly hit clubs at the PGA Tour Superstore near me, the free fitting was a way to see if a stock club fit my eye, sound, look, feel needs. They also have some different shafts available in the free bays you can try, mainly to do with stiff, regular, X-stiff etc. So now that I like a certain club, go get fit to see if it is for me. I have a pretty good idea what shafts I like, but new equipment gets introduced all the time. I do believe the Van fitting is way more comprehensive than the freebie, but freebie gets you warmed up and let's you test what you might be interested in and gives you a start at least. I would probably avoid Club Champion, they always try to up sell you. Golftec usually has a more limited number of options to try. I actually found a fitter in the PGATSS free bays that I really liked, so I would try and visit him, he eventually became the Tour Van fitter and he was better IMO than the guy they had previously. You probably don't have that much time since you are visiting so YMMV. If I still am not sure, I might go to another place a week later, hit the same club especially if it is stock and see how I still feel about it.
  18. Down to a TSR 4wd for long par 5s, I have, 3, 4, 5 Cobra LTDx hybrids that I seem to hit long and straight, along with my 6-P irons. I tend to get more rollout on the courses I play and the hybrids tend to launch a low so it works for me. Having back surgery in a couple of weeks and have no idea how that might impact my swing.
  19. Irons SAFE, ZX5 MKii 6-p,driver safe, Rogue st max LS, Cleveland wedges safe, TSR3 4wd mostly safe, Odyssey Tri hot 5K two putter definitely safe, Cobra 3,4,5, LTDx hybrids mostly safe, the 4 definitely is, jury still out on 3 and 5. There are some other clubs waiting in the wings in case. Back surgery in January could change how I feel about these clubs, all shafts stiff.
  20. https://www.grips4less.com Has deals and usually free shipping.
  21. I watched this video a week or so ago and looked at it, sure enough the numbers seemed to work for my 7i swing speed, but YMMV.
  22. The ball/equipment manufacturers don't want bifurcation because they want the non pros to pay for the costs of their pro sponsorships without them knowing about it. Now the excuse is that they will have to raise the price of the balls for the non pros to pay for the pro only ball, what a load of crap. Non pros already pay for the pros it just isn't as obvious. This is purely about profit, they know creating the pro only ball will cut into their profit since they will have to do additional R and D and have additional manufacturing processes. No way Pro V's should be as expensive as they are, but non pros playing them are just helping Titleist pay for their pro sponsorships.
  23. My wife wonders that all the training aids I have in the basement are for since I can't really train right now due to my back. I thought about a couple over the last few days, but held off buying anymore that I can't use.
  24. I am still liking my Odyssey Tri Hot 5K 2 putter, but went and hit some putts with the new Odyssey AI-ONE #1CH and it felt pretty good, not good enough to knock the Tri-Hot out. The AI-ONE head felt a little bit heavier than my Tri-Hot, the insert felt the same to me and I am an insert person.
  25. Get back fusion surgery to help with my leg pain, be mostly pain free this year so I can at least practice again. Get healthy enough to play golf in Ireland on my June vacation if the above srugery goes well. Try not to buy too many new clubs!
