My post on the subject has been deleted so I'll try again.
The USGA has succeeded in making itself totally irrelevant to me.
My gang plays everything as a lateral.  We don't want to slow up play.
We take preferred lies as we play mostly scrambles lately.
Many of us have groove sharpening tools which eventually gouge the grooves out of conformity.
I have enough current model Pro V1s to last me until I die.
And, to put a cherry on top, I have a fifteen slot cart bag.
The USGA and R&A, the latter assuming the role of lapdog since giving up the 1.62" ball,
are the recognized sanctioning bodies; I suppose nothing will change that.
They don't pay our golf expenses, though,  so they're not going to diminish my enjoyment of the game.

... One of my 36yr old playin' pards has used ProV1x's since high school. I gave him a sleeve of Maxfli Tour X and he switched. He qualified for the AZ State Am and we had just received 2 dozen ProV1's each as an outing prize and I asked if he was gonna use them for the Am. He said no, he is used to the Maxfli Tour X and with something so important on the line he didn't wanna change. Can't get a better endorsement than that. 

I have tried several different balls this year and I finally settled on, drum roll please, prov1 x. Some of the balls like the tour response have no feedback, they sound like your hitting a sponge. The prov1x sounds great off the club and goes farther than any of the other balls. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning all on this beautiful Saturday morning, no golf this weekend. I think playing Monday through Friday is good enough for me. Have 2 trips coming up, next month in Cleveland and Augusta in October. Play well everyone and have fun.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I tried the bridgestone b rx, a titleist prov 1x, a prov 1, a tour soft, a taylor made tp5 and the tp5x. The thing that really makes it a hard decision is every time I try a different ball I have a really good round with it. I have even used every ball during a single round trying to see if one ball really stands out from the others, and I am still confused. Wish me luck.

Shot 42 this morning, 6 bogeys and 3 pars. Missed 2 putts played too much break, missed 4 yesterday the same way and shot 43. Play well all.

A lovely good morning to you all on this sunny Saturday morning. I’m so proud of my wife. She took up golf 5 years ago and has improved dramatically every year. Her stated goal this year is to “Whup my ass at golf” and she is getting oh so close. Yesterday she recorded her first hole in one.  Something, I must add, I have yet to do.  She hit a lovely fairway wood from the tee with the ball landing softly on the green and rolling straight into the hole.  She was ecstatic jumping up and down and then turned to me and said “Top that”. I had no comeback. All it cost me after the round was a tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream. So, it’s only a matter of time before she beats me. So this old boy has to keep improving.
