  1. MGS headquarters tests are primarily focused on golf products any consumer can buy at retail today. The blind test balls don’t fall into that category.
  2. The new posts from that area of the forum show up in the unread lists. The topics that don’t show up are the 2021 tests that were moved to a new area and are functionally different than the rest of the forum. Those tests are listed here https://forum.mygolfspy.com/tests/
  3. I don't believe they have done a hitting mat test in the past. It might be on the table for this year; when I was at headquarters a few weeks ago they had a net setup and a bunch of mats scattered around. unfortunately I can't verify that is what they were testing or when the results would be released.
  4. But they were nice and gave you the tag anyway
  5. Strokes gained is not about the clubs you hit, but how many strokes it takes to get in the hole from a particular distance and shot condition (tee, fairway, rough, green, etc) On the PGA tour, strokes gained is a comparison to the other golfers on the same course. We don't have the luxury so it is generic. Some systems; like ARCCOS, will separate out by handicap so you can compare to various handicap levels. From a learning perspective the comparison doesn't really matter as you are able to identify strengths and weaknesses versus any level of golfer including professionals.
  6. 75 for practice round and 115 for tournament round.
  7. It’s official, got my email this morning ….. another rejection.
  8. This is why I stopped using 18 birdies; I just hated having to pull my phone out for every shot.
  9. I am leaning toward focus. I don't generally change read or believe I have the wrong read. Could be the result of making the wrong backswing, but to me that is related to my focus and not my commitment to how far I want to roll the putt. Been rolling putts at home and find that I am a little more accurate when I focus on the club hitting the back of the ball; basically quiet eye approach.
  10. It is definitely progress. Swing is coming around and I am happy with impact and ball flight. Just finished hybrid most wanted testing today and have hitting the ball really well during driving iron and hybrid testing. At a point where I just want to go out and play golf and work on my game; unfortunately work gets in the way.
  11. I am sure I will get rejected, but I haven’t gotten an email yet and I am not logging in until I get my email……prolong the inevitable
  12. Progress on my game continues; while my low end of my scoring hasn’t improved, I feel like my high end has come down. Full swing is more under control and toe strikes have been drastically reduced. The changes to the full swing seem to have improved the short game swings as well. Going to focus a bit more on my mid distance putting and putting focus. I am going to work on focus because it is becoming apparent that when hitting the mid range putts I am making too many bad swings. I have lots of confidence in my distance control, but occasionally I make really bad strokes that leave the putts significantly short. This leads to a bit of frustration as I try to make the next putt. Going to work on enhancing the pre-putt routine to make sure I am mentally prepared to make the stroke. I have also noticed a little bit of a face control issue on the mid length putts. Been spending time recently on face control drills and am finding that this issue seems to tie back to the focus issue.
  13. The types of material Used to construct the shaft as well as where and how the material is applied to the shaft,
  14. This isn’t where you apply; you can find the application threads here: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/tests/
  15. I guess it is how the system handles the multiple copies. If one of the copies was dropped, then all the copies are locked up.
  16. Okay, someone explain this to me. Waivers ran last night and based on what I know only players dropped yesterday should still be in a status where they have to go through tomorrows waiver wire. I am looking at Charl Schwartzel who is owned by no one and the last owner dropped him last week. Why am I unable to pick him up now and I have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get him.
  17. congrats on the lucky shot!
  18. Overall pretty happy with todays round. Ball striking was solid; putting could have been a little better. Feel like I am making good progress with my full and short game swings. Not sure what is going on with the putting, thinking it is mental lapses regarding how to swing the putter which causes me to hit horrible putts. 39/40:79 13/14 FW 11 GIR with 3 more that were just off the green. 36 putt (4 three putts)
  19. Curious why your fitters say they are not an option for you.
  20. Per the MPF they are SGI type clubs. During that era Tommy Armour clubs were solid and well designed clubs. There are some models that are still considered desirable to play. https://www.golfworks.com/images/art/MPF_TOMMYARMOUR.pdf
  21. Google search will give you lots of information. cast, 2003ish release, nothing really wrong with them. What do you want to know?
  22. I quoted your post and the original post. Some businesses and courses have chosen to go the extra mile and provide a memento for your getting a hole in one and there is nothing wrong with that. The OP felt slighted that the course didn't do anything for him; I personally read the word "free" into yours and the original post. If the course offers a plaque that you have to purchase is that an acceptable option to recognize the customers achievement? This is the approach I have seen at courses near me. A friend of mine got a hole in one and when reporting it to the clubhouse he could purchase a custom plaque to signify the experience. While I have never had a hole in one I wouldn't feel slighted or disappointed if the course didn't offer anything; no matter how high end of a course I was playing. Keep the signed witnessed scorecard and the ball and you have everything you need to remember the occasion. Again, just my opinion.
  23. when I started the post I figured you were not from the US, then I saw your location, then I got to your amendment US announcers are horrible, IMO
  24. I think the contests being referred to at the ones on social media; lots of individuals and companies give away all kinds of merchandise. There aren't many contests other than fantasy sports and major event pick-ems.
  25. Sorry about the accident; glad everyone is okay and hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.
