  1. Going to be 60 today but drop back into the 30s and rain starting again tomorrow. Too wet to play golf; when I walked outside this morning I noticed that my front lawn is completely saturated from the rain we have had.

Like DaveP043, usually get a stretch of weather that prevents me from playing. I have only played once since mid December due to weather and other circumstances and am ready to get back out and playing.
  3. Her points are valid about getting better. Equipment gets you to a point but there is lots more to advance. Even with fit equipment, you can still play poorly. Part of golf is about managing and understanding expectations. I’ll look at my game as an example. I can hit the ball well, I can putt well, and I can hit short game shots well. I can also do those things very poorly. Let’s look at perfectionism. In golf what does perfect mean? I’ll use an 8 foot putt as an example. What is your expectation from that distance? That is the 50% mark for professionals. Maybe you can do slightly better, but you won’t be perfect. Also remember There are many things outside your control that impact a golf shot. Also stop listening to golf commentary about pros. They say things because they are on television and need to generate ratings. Players have pretty big shot patterns and are far from perfect. As for having fun, some people like to play new equipment and that is part of their enjoyment in golf. Are you tinkering for fun or are you trying to achieve something?
  4. I think there are really two parts to this question. I update my equipment whenever the mood strikes. Some clubs stay in the bag for years; I may try others a couple of times a year. Part two is how much money out of pocket. The answer to that is generally $0; total out of pocket for equipment each year is probably less than $100. I usually trade clubs and/or sell clubs. Whatever I sell builds up my PayPal account for purchases without trade. I also get gift cards to a local store or Amazon as gifts.
  5. He explained in the post above yours that is it based on the layout of his yard
  6. this just makes me feel a little bit better
  7. It is because they are making a mockery of the course, that isn't the way the course designer intended the hole to be played.
  8. More rain; at least I am out of the snow/ice that is hitting about an hour from here. Rain is expected to continue for the next week. really want to get out and play but I think it will be a muddy mess for a while. Since most wanted driver testing is done, maybe I can get some time in on the GC Quad after putter sessions.
  9. Beautiful putter love the hosel! Custom made for you since I see it has a welded neck?
  10. I think you could clean up the area and get some work in. Here's an example:
  11. Yep a Strantz course; meaning blind shots galore and you need to have played the course to really understand where to play. He has a second course in Williamsburg too that just reopened..... Stonehouse. I haven't played that course since early 2000s but it was a fun course back then. While both GH courses are nice, definitely pick the Gold over Green.
  12. The distance range you list is interesting to me; that is the exact yardages my coach suggests avoiding. The finesse wedges are generally good up to about 40 and the transition to distance wedges starts at about the 65 yard range. Could be different for different people, but those are really hard distances to master.
  13. Mother in law gets her first shot next week. Virginia has been a mess with distribution and the state department of health has taken control back from the localities and gotten the pharmacies involved. Some areas have done well, but my area the vaccine was sent to the hospitals and they only took appointments from people that had primary care doctors that were part of the hospital. The phase system is confusing as well; On the department of health site I am in one group, but if I try to register with the pharmacy it tells me I am in another group. At least I am computer literate and can maneuver through the nightmare of setting up an online appointment.
  14. I had one of the 1st Production Cobalt putters. I love the putters he has been making recently; probably should have bought one on the used marketplace when there were more available. Since puttertalk went away, I don't see many of them available any more. I follow his instagram and he is still pumping them out.
  15. Those doubles really kill your round. Just like you if I could turn the doubles into bogies, I would feel so much better.
  16. You are getting into the specifics of the simulator and the system it uses to read balls. Some require the balls be marked up in a specific way and even placed on the ground in a specific way to get accurate results. If you really want to know the answer, try calling or sending a question to the sim manufacturer and see if they will answer your question.
  17. Good luck on your quest. Hope you find the putter that works for you and your stroke. Just remember that the putter is only part of the puzzle; you need to work on the skills to get better Look forward to reading all the details.
  18. System shouldn't work that way. If the player is on 5 rosters, you can't create a claim even if someone has a transaction to potentially drop the player.
  19. That doesn't make sense. How do you know it won't be processed until Wed? I haven't seen a data on waiver claims but haven't looked either.
  20. Don't think so, but I might be wrong. I know Any player dropped on Tuesday also goes on waivers until the Wednesday waivers. Players dropped on wednesday don't come off waivers until Thursday.
  21. Which Tad Moore? Great putters; have been thinking about getting one.
  22. Was the player recently dropped? I think if a player is dropped it he goes on waivers for 24 hours from when he was dropped. So if the player is dropped on Monday, he wouldn't come off wavers until Wednesday.
  23. I don’t need to justify anything. He works for himself and can do whatever he wants. He has no allegiance to play any tournament. Do you believe that American players that play other tours are also a sellout?
