  1. No, took a break; the new episode was released today.
  2. First round in 21 and first round in about a month. First hole of the year provided an eagle opportunity and tap in birdie. Ran off 6 straight pars followed by a double and a par to finish the first 9 at +1. The wheels fell off on the second 9 with 1 par, 2 doubles and 6 bogeys. 36/47:83. 7FW, 5 GIR, and 28 putts. Only a few "bad" tee shots and iron play was a bit off. Short game was working on the front 9 but became miserable on the back. Kind of lost focus on the back 9 and think I was trying too hard to play better after a few bad holes. As a bonus, I made it home in time to watch the final Bears game of the season.
  3. The simple answer is probably not; shaft flex won't increase MPH. If you dive deep into this the answer could be maybe. You would need to assess where on the face you hit your current driver; If you don't hit it in the center of the face you are losing distance; finding the ideal shaft specs (length, flex, weight, profile, etc.) will help. A lighter weight shaft may help you swing faster, lighter weight does not mean softer flex. You also need to remember that the faster you swing (and the farther the ball goes) you will probably see a wider dispersion pattern if the face angle at impact variance remains the same. Meaning that if you hit the ball straight and the face is 1* open, you will be farther right at 250 yards than at 200 yards.
  4. What they will teach you in class is to use a digital level that shows slope and practice learning the feel. I have also seen people build ramps that you can set the slope and practice learning the feel at home.. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-10-in-Multi-Function-Standard-Digital-Level-THD9403/205999357
  5. DO IT!!!! Now you can blame it on peer pressure
  6. Hope they help. Didn't post the videos on pace and startline; just the ones that talked about reading greens. The ones that talk about targetting are more about using some visual options as they influence your read. The two part david orr videos go a bit into assessing why you missed. In my mind green reading is about matching everything up. Mathematically a difference course shouldn't matter; Given a green speed, slope, and ball speed the ball will break the same no matter the course. What probably happens is that when you go to another course, the green speeds are different and you haven't built the experience/feel to make the adjustment.
  7. @Kenny BSome more green reading videos @B.Boston a little aimpoint info in these videos
  8. There is some information around, but the community is pretty tight lipped and you really need to take the class. There is aimpoint and aimpoint express. Express is the streamlined version that you see when players are holding up fingers in front of their face. The basics are that you stand behind the ball (and possibly locations between the ball and hole) and you feel the slope of the green and determine if it is 1, 2, 3% slope. This takes time to learn how to actually feel it in your feet/legs. Once you have determined the slope, you use your finger(s) to predict break. If it is 2%, you hold up 2 fingers and that gives you an aimpoint left or right of the hole. The distance you hold your fingers in front of your face is based on green speed. The faster the green the closer you hold your hand to your face.
  9. Phil Kenyon did a few videos during the past lockdowns. Yes, they contain information about his putting school, but they do talk about how to practice green reading. https://www.philkenyonputting.com/gift/79E4E4CD-C593-4351-B248-3F83C9505C2D.aspx https://www.philkenyonputting.com/4-Part-Video-Series/3aa7ca3a.aspx
  10. Sounds like how my discussion may go; eager for my appointment to get here.
  11. 0811 gen 4 is an ugly driver...in my opinion.
  12. Yep, there is another post regard the announcement if the new community manager. https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/42768-2021-community-manager-introduction/
  13. If I look at upper body smooth, but if I focus on feet I would say powerful.
  14. I always liked that putter and it should like it suits you based on the maiden voyage.
  15. Agree 100% the swings look so different in person and are much smoother in person. I wonder how much our perception is influenced by their footwork. Looking at Bryson and long drivers like Kyle Berkshire they put so much energy into their swing that the lower body spins out. I watched some video on Chris Comos Instagram where he had the two of them over to his house and it showed how similar their mechanics are. They showed some overheard shots of Kyle and it is amazing to me how much his left foot moves during the follow through.
  16. It is interesting how swing philosophies change. That was what we used to hear....low and slow on the backswing. Seems like with today’s speed and distance focus that the desire is fast back and through. One of things my instructor has has me doing is swing my wedge extremely fast to try and get about 15 more yards than my normal swing. I asked him what the purpose was and paraphrasing His response was that it helped the sequencing and that it actually improved the normal swing dynamics.

    Nice looking wedges!
  18. Hope you get some good news and it isn’t very serious.
  19. Nope, I have physically seen 2 PXG drivers for 2021. I am pretty sure the one I am referring to is still embargoed
  20. I didn’t look at the model numbers but PXG has always had different models for their drivers. The 0211X and 0221XF stick in my mind as typical naming. Basically a players version and a more forgiving model; just like other manufacturers. The players version is the one that I am referring too.
  21. @thin2win; just wanted to say I have enjoyed the wit and touch of sarcasm in this review. Made me smile which is something I really need to do right now.
  22. Will depend on which model. I know there are two in for driver testing...one looks good, one not so good.
