  1. A little Wild Turkey Honey Sting over ice, thank you very much!
  2. I don't do anything except clean a club after a shot. My clubs really don't get very dirty. I'm not a digger and the soil is firm and sandy. It's easy to clean grooves after a shot. Periodically, I wipe down the Pure grips with a little soap and water to remove any oil from my hands; they are still in great shape after 2 years. I played in the rain yesterday and after the round I brought my clubs into the house and dried each club, otherwise my SCORs will start rusting when the sand has removed the finish.
  3. I'm on a roll. My game is starting to warm up, as is the weather. It was 60* today with only a 10 mph wind. I was +2 on the front nine due to a double on #9. Then I was +1 on the back nine with a double on #18. A very nice 75. My score was the result of decent drives, good irons, and 6 of 7 up 'n downs. "Everyone likes a good up 'n down." I hope this scoring continues; game tomorrow walking with the guys tomorrow. Edit: My wife and I played behind the last group of a 2-man scramble. We have 5 par 3's on our course. I checked the KP's when we played each one, and my wife and would have won 4 of them!! And they weren't even close!
  4. My wife and I played yesterday with another couple that we play with often. A cool 50* but no wind; it did rain the last 5 holes. I shot 43/37 for an 80. I should have been MUCH better. I lipped out 5 putts; 3 for birdie and 2 for par. I played my MacGregor irons and I have never hit them better. I don't move the ball either way very much on purpose, but on #18, I hit a nice low 4i draw under a tree at the dogleg par 5 with bunker and water tight on the right. I'm close to my first sub-80 round of the year.
  5. YES, I am! 60* with 10-15 mph winds and no rain. Much better than yesterday!

    is Tiger Done?

He can make a reasonable attempt to come back if he listens to Rocco and makes his final swing change to a swing that doesn't stress his back. It can be done, but if he doesn't choose to make the transition, he won't be a factor anymore. Too many good players without injuries to compete against.
  7. Finally got my new water heater installed, so I thought I'd finish off a bottle of Buffalo Trace.
  8. Well trained, I see. It's about time you get some winter. It's finally warming up here; 60's today, but that comes with 25-35 winds with gusts to 45; no golf for me. A better day tomorrow, so my wife and I are playing.
  9. Great... until the water heater broke. Probably the best day to play this week. "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair, and agony on me."
  10. Went out to the garage this morning, headed to the golf course. Puddle of rusty water coming from the room that has the furnace, water heater; water softener. Guess I'm getting a new water heater.
  11. I was supposed to walk with the guys at the club yesterday but 45* with winds 15-30 mph, I got a call that they were canceling. They said Tuesday looked better. OK, it's Tuesday. Temperature is 45* and it's raining. I'm waiting for another call.
  12. Personally, too many angles that seem unnecessary, and for $1800 for 3-pw, they are not cheap.
  13. The local bar I frequent just discontinued Iron Horse Irish Death, a dark smooth ale that is my go-to beverage after golf. It was replaced with an IPA which is not really my cup of hops. No other dark beer on tap.
  14. We played again today, but it was 42* and sunny, with 15-25 mph wind. Shot an absolutely smashing 47 on the front, but came home in 35 to shoot the same score 82 as yesterday. At least a good 9 hole score this year.
  15. My wife and I played on a cloudy, chilly 46* day but we rode in a cart with a cover. Nice being out of the wind. Shot an 82; +6/+4 but doubled #18. First halfway decent round this year. I can't wait for warmer weather.
  16. A few years ago at my old course several of us were playing a fun game. This one guy that I had played with for years reminds me of your slo-mo. On the 3rd hole he was way to the left looking for his ball; second shot into a par 5. The rest of us had hit our second and were about 100 yards down the fairway, and although he found it, he still hadn't hit yet. I yelled "Pick it up!" ... meaning let's go! He pick up his ball and walked into the clubhouse. I never played with him again. I wasn't disappointed!
  17. Yesterday was my first round of the year walking 18 holes. Three of us played; two of us finished; one guy quit after 16 and walked in. Not a good round... 85; man, my legs are tired! I need to do more of this!!
  18. Me too!!!! But I watched Young Frankenstein on TCM.
  19. Truly an art! Many years ago when I worked in a chemistry lab, we had our own glass blower. He could make anything we needed! It was amazing to watch him work.
  20. Sorry to hear about that. Hope you have it whipped now. Get well quickly! Good golf weather is coming.
  21. I'm an engineer, and my wife is an artist. When I say "I'm putting my foot down." She just laughs.
  22. That a pretty high temperature!! Take it easy! Drink plenty of water.
  23. Sweet! Same specs as the Ping Eye 2. Forged in USA! Don't see that anymore.
  24. Today was my walking day with the guys and it's sunny and 54*. However, the winds of March are here today; 25-35 mph with gust to 45. Just got a call from one of the guys saying they postponed until tomorrow. I'm not really disappointed.
