  1. Did not play Oak Island GC, but played two of the four courses in St James. Very nice area- Southport is a quaint town, and Oak Island is a south facing barrier island, which, at certain points during the year, provides the impression that the sun is setting into the Atlantic- very cool, and what hooked my wife, a California Girl at heart. attachicon.gifsunset2.jpg

i vacation there twice a year. I do have a soft spot for that place. I have been going there since I was around 8/9 years old. I haven't played st James yet. Thought it was pretty private.

  2. Walk. Sun Mountain Speed Cart with made for it Sync bag. They are great together and I really play better walking. I feel like a slug riding when walking is available. 85-95% of my rounds are walked

  3. I am and will for a long time be a Snell golfer. But I found a Kirkland at the edge of the lake the other day when one of my soldiers went for a swim.

The next hole I decided to give it a go and pass it around to my playing partners.

Off the driver it was clicky, but long enough. I hit a seven iron square, at least I thought so anyway. 25 years short. It was uphill and a blind landing so we all thought I was going to be within 10 feet. Nope, super short. Again a bit clicky off the putter.

My partners thought it felt like a Pro-V. Which is their ball of choice. Suckers! (They won't play one of my snells).

I went directly back to my MTB and shan't go near anything else anytime soon.

the seven iron was subject to strike of course, but I really thought I caught it well.
