  1. I would love to see the fine point details in these contacts. Questions i have are. Minimum events to play? Salary of pay guarantees, social media and speaking clauses, out clauses for both sides, top players even in name guaranteed no relegation? Other guarantees outside of the money. Ownership stakes? So much more. Unfortunately until someone gets the boot or leaves i don't we will see any of it. The fact guys are signing 5 year deals means this this isn't going to go away anytime soon and with it's steep growth curve there must be done finer details in the contract that work one way or another.
  2. Going to follow up on this with a question... what is a paid member of Mygolfspy? I know they accept donations, but that doesn't grant any special membership. Yes they have the donor raffle, however that is entirely seperate and they do a donation drive prior so it is know that only donors are selected. No paid memberships here on the forum so unfortunately so much wrong with this statement.
  3. Give a big shout out to @Golfspy_CG2 for all of the Major giveaways and the Cobra irons. He has been the sole provider for those and done all the background work to get those to the forum. Wouldn't have been possible or a thing without him. The testing comes staright from HQ so those opportunities are provided by them. Hearing murmors of a certain big ticket item coming later in August. Thanks to some stellar reviews given so far... maybe I've said too much? haha The giveaways on the main site are soley from them and it has been good that they announce them more often. I'm not on twitter as much so I often miss seeing it. I know seeing "winners will be announced" is wording that it will be shown to the public (which as the above photo shows they do) if they didn't do a tweet or IG post about it I would believe they would pick the wording of "winners will be contacted"
  4. Need to check out Sub70. They are what I think are the best for availability of LH options across their whole lineup.
  5. Sucks to see but also not a big surprise. IMHO this is what I'd like to see with the Hogan brand... I would love to see a company like Cobra or Callaway or another OEM purchase the naming rights and do a special edition Ben Hogan series ever 3 or so years. Callaway may make the most sense as they were the ones who kept the Hogan original apex iron name, but just maybe for Cobra it could be a cost too and add a touch more Heritage to the brand. Anyway just a thought. Outside of old old Hogan irons i never had a chance to hit any. Being a lefty there often weren't a ton of options.
  6. Yeah I think they still classified the Chromoly as a forging. That is what I mean though you can take about half the irons in the market and they have some sort of "forged" part. A true forged full iron head will always "feel" better then one with just a forged face, but I guess on a technical level they are still both forged clubs. Forgiveness again can be so subjective. Forgiveness left to right or front to back or even different flight windows or consistency in spin... or simply overall? Most immediately think left to right, but for me I would be more concerned with front to back and spin.
  7. As mentioned many different things at play. Also again ball speed could very well be that strikes are just better. 92 mph is by no means slow. Shafts are very subjective and it is more then just speed, but tempo, length of swing and more. These swing characteristics can make different shafts load differently or react in ways that either help or hurt how the club is delivered at impact.
  8. Hard becuase it truly is so subjective. Added in to what type of forging and if it is a pieced forging like the i500 the feel isn't that of a forged iron so begs the question why forging matters? Mizuno Hot Metal is likely going to be up there as the most forged, but many found the boron to not feel super forged. Cobra and their Forged Tec would be another one, but again that is piece forged not full body and typically has a "clicky" feeling. Those are the top couple that come to mind, but with companies like Sub70 having new forged options and more there are bound to be others that are "more forgiving" in the end very person dependent.
  9. I have to edge towards @russtopherb opinion. Maybe cut down the driver as it is a older club, but the irons aren't going to go bad and as they are a semi game improvement type club they could be amazing for his first "real set" add in having mizuno irons and a Scotty putter as his first real clubs he would be one lucky kid! I can still remember my first real club was a P wedge from Jazz golf... I would as I said maybe cut down the driver, but that still makes the weighting all weird and such, but keep them for when he gets a bit older or to a point where he could mayble play them a inch short and have them cut down a bit and regripped. Hopefully there are plenty of other good youth sets around that can make do for the time. Who knows mabe the wedges are short enough he could possible use them or even the putter?
  10. Do I also deserve something new and shiny in the form of golf equipment?
  11. Outside of FedEx cup playoffs for fantasy now my watching golf is pretty much done. Even FedEx cup I'm unlikely to watch. I love watching golf for heritage and legacy over money... Sadly it just seems to be for money most all the time now.
  12. Two holes, two different days. Just goes to show that sometimes I do actually know what I'm doing out there on the golf course! What amazes me about my game this year is my putting. I have played 5 different courses here now all with differentish greens and speeds, yet arccos has me gaining between 3-4 strokes a round on the greens. I may have had one 3 putt and had a wonderful cozy 2 putt from 94 feet. Now if I could get my tee game consistent I could truly feel comfortable in reaching my potential.
  13. As mentioned its on the fence, but I get where you are coming from which is why we kept the thread open and no message was sent. We want proper golf discussion and so far that is whats happening here so we can continue on.
  14. Also as this is more of an advertisement which we don't allow as they are not an official sponsor of MGS, this topic as a whole is on the fence. However given the discussion point has been productive we have let it continue.
  15. Sadly the exact head I wanted was on backorder for another couple months, so rather then waiting I've gone forward with a different finish which will be built next week/sent out shortly after and hopefully here for early August. Could be worse and in the mean time the i210 will get some more play!
  16. Forgot to mention the last of us part 1 and 2. Basically anything from naughty dog is truly amazing.
  17. I won't disagree with Halo being a great game, but Xbox missed 2 of my favorite games/series ever in horizon and uncharted.
  18. @GolfSpy_BOS and I have opposing views on this. He said don't bother with this topic because we have LIV thread for contentious debate... I say let's see what or who is the real winner
  19. I love arccos and it has helped so much but my goodness is it bad on Android.
  20. Why both before the draft or college, outbid the college teams and have them straight from High School.
