  1. Took my son out to play 9 yesterday. I am sitting at 2 over going into #9. I split the fairway on 9 and leave myself 158 from the pin. That is the closest I've ever been to the green on this hole. I chunk a 6 iron 55 yards, blade a 48 degree wedge 125 over the hole into a cemetery, blade the chip going back to the hole, chilly dip the chip to the green. Decided to putt the last two for a triple and a 41. But 6/7 fairways and 13 putts.
  2. Nice, we can play Valley any time then. I hate to take the boys away from their computers for too long though.
  3. I do draw a line at some point and that is it.
  4. I play hybrid irons, you think I care about the ball I play?
  5. Looks like Friday or Sunday are the days to play. If any one of you three beat me I'll hook you up in RI when it's allowed.
  6. Okay, here we go! I may even game a Top Flite ball to make you guys feel worse when it's all over.
  7. That is good to hear. I really need to focus on practice with my home set up and not screwing around all the time.
  8. We need to get you, Stroker, Boston and I together for 18. Name the time and place and I'll be there. Still can't get you guys into RI but I can play is Mass.
  9. I'd want something to hold on to but I get your point. I'm curious how it is going up and downhill on grass. Sounds fun!
  10. Do you carry clubs on this or use a push cart?
  11. I’ll be your friend to support your efforts. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. Yeah, you’ve nailed it. Never deliver to your home guys. Send to office, your buddies, wherever but never your home unless it’s for your wife or significant other. I go in my wife’s closet and there are like 15 packages in there at any given time, I don’t say anything in case I trip up at some point so I have leverage. We need focus here! 13. You should have signed up for the Bag Boy Chiller review. It's like getting paid to test beer! But I wish all you guys luck and it's fun watching all of you sweat it out just to be made fun of for a minimum of 8 weeks.
  14. Got the new Garmin Approach G62. Played the first three rounds with it and had 49% battery life remaining after the 3 rounds. Huge improvement over the Approach S60 in terms of battery. Caddie feature was cool until it started telling me to use a hybrid off every tee because the driver was so bad. I didn't think the wind function would be a big deal but it is nice. Scrolling thru hazards is a major improvement. Also nice to see heart rate as you go. I've got ice in my veins.
  15. I tested this last night and found the opposite to be true. There is a thread about it but I’m on my iPad and can’t link it right now. For me matte balls were more consistent in wet conditions. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  16. I haven't really paid attention to be honest which tells me it isn't noticeable. The 14 way dividers help space them out nicely so clubs behind don't bang into the clubs in front of them on the cart. Clubs side-by-side to tend to rattle as they rotate sideways in the bag.
  17. I’m really glad I did this test so thanks for the topic and idea. I will now plan accordingly based on conditions. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  18. Tested the Wilson Duo Professional glossy vs. Wilson Duo Professional matte finish in dry and wet comparison. I hit 12 shots with each scenario using my 9 iron. In the wet conditions I sprayed the ball before each shot with the sprayer then dried after each shot. For wet with club I sprayed the ball and club face then dried both after each shot. I was pretty dialed in and only had to kick out 2 shots and they were 2 of my last 4. Garage golf is more fun when it’s 40 degrees outside than when it is upper 70s so I was pooping out. Comparing balls on SkyTrak can be difficult so you need to understand the key to each club but remember I only hit the 9 iron: 4 iron = matte ball wet ball and wet club face 5 iron = matte ball wet ball only 6 iron = matte ball dry 7 iron = glossy ball wet ball wet club face 8 iron = glossy ball wet ball only 9 iron = glossy ball dry It is also important to note that SkyTrak only measures ball speed, launch, back spin and left/right spin. Everything else is a calculation. Without diving into the data too much at first brush over the matte ball seems more consistent in wet and dry conditions. If it is completely dry then I’d say the glossy finish is the way to go. I’m sure MGS will provide much more in depth info but here is a preview. Any questions let me know? 19. Alright I’m going in. Will report back in the next couple of hours. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Okay, I will dig up a spray bottle and spray the balls and do a dozen good shots with each and see what I get.
  21. Here is what I will do: 1. Dry ball glossy 2. Wet ball glossy 3. Wet ball and wet wedge glossy 4. Dry matte ball 5. Wet matte ball 6. Wet ball and wet wedge matte Let me know if more needs to be done?
  22. I will test the wet matte ball theory tonight on SkyTrak. I have Wilson Professions in both glossy and matte in stock at home. Not Maxfli but at least will give everyone an idea of any differences between glossy and matte. Any suggestions for testing? I plan to just hit them dry then soak them in water and repeat. I'm not going thru the entire bag but will hit full wedges.
  23. I wrapped up 5 straight days of golf today and rain got me the last two days. More of just spitting today but same results. Nothing wet inside the bag either day so no need to empty everything to dry it out. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  24. I’ve played 4 straight days at my club and I’ve got to say the rules in place for playing during the pandemic have made it more enjoyable for me. To name a few: 1. All four rounds, walking foursomes, under 3:23, normal round at 4 hours 2. Pins in for everyone 3. No raking bunkers, lift and place and a quick once over with your foot 4. Everyone gets their own carts that rides 5. 10 minutes between tee times All of these help pace of play and something I hope our club considers longer term. You guys have anything to add? 25. As a walker the cooler is great since they don’t offer water jugs on the course. I usually fill my Yeti at the house with ice water and can refill it on the course. Not an option nowadays so I put a few extra bottles in the cooler. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
