Guys!! @aerospace_ray turned me on to John Morgan shirts and they are the real deal! As good as Peter Millar for half the price (or less, on sale!)
They are long cut so they will stay tucked in during swings and active movements, soft enough (mostly cotton) to not want to take them off as soon as your round is done, performance oriented enough to meet the needs on the golf course or warm summer days, stylish enough to wear anywhere.
I've become a huge fan and have already started stocking my closet with them.

My son and I have done a lot of putting down the center aisle. I can attribute Kirke's touch from 40' to our church aisle length:

Yep. I pastor a small church in Michigan. Having the building to my self during the week has some perks.

I emailed my putting instructor last night and he said there is a
lot of social media discussion on the use of the trail hand in putting. It does play a role, but at this point those who are promoting are trying to fit you into a particular putting approach and More work needs to be done to completely understand. In one of the videos he talked about the claw grip; which is designed to take the right hand out of the stroke and is left side powered. Meaning the the role of the right hand is passive and the fundamentally there are lots of ways to grip and swing the putter

I also asked about the radial vs linear approach David Edel was talking about in the videos he posts . My coach said that that style works best with the toe up Edel putters but it is a difficult pattern to repeat.

Someone asked Phil Kenyon this question on Instagram. Will be interesting to see his response. The comment was in reference to a post about people trying multiple grips.

My instructor has been helping me with full swing based on Mike Adams approaches.  To me it makes perfect sense that the different grips that Mike discusses would apply to putting as well.  I am a side on golfer and my grip is pretty close to what David is indicated a side on golfer should do.

For anyone considering changing out the stock KBS shaft with a Stability shaft and are considering doing it themselves, two things based on my experience from today:
If you use the method of installing the Stability shaft where you cut off part of the old shaft, the stock KBS shaft is heavily tipped. Stability shaft says to cut 8.25" above the putter head, but if you measure the diameter of the stock KBS shaft in the Stability shaft, it is above 0.400" which won't fit into any of the Stability shaft adapters
If you want to use the method where you put in a full Stability shaft including the straight in tip that comes with it, this one is not easy either. Some of the older versions of the DF 2.1 (I think Matt said March and earlier), uses an interference fit (i.e. not just putting the epoxy on the tip, but pounding the shaft into the head for a super tight fit). LAB does not recommend pulling the shaft on the versions with the interference fit, but I did it anyway. Even with a lot of heat, its not as easy as pulling an iron or putter with a steel shaft. I had to keep twisting with all of my strength to get that thing out. Got it out successfully though, and then put in the new tip that comes with the Stability shaft by putting on epoxy and pounding it in with a rubber mallet.

I got an update today on the Ping G710 irons.
The holdup is and has been the Recoil Shafts and should ship end of October.
I can live w that if everything is what I wanted.
My birthday is end of the month so would be fitting if they came in then.

I ordered G710 irons a little more than 10 weeks ago. Original promise date was 3 weeks. I’m not upset yet, we’re dealing w unprecedented times.

I golfed with a few people using new Wishon sets this year and they really like them. It's really all about the fitting and trying them out. Wishon's hybrids and players irons seem to be the favorites among his lineup. I too have read his book and liked it. I would say keep your mind open about golf equipment. I wouldn't necessarily limit my search to strictly Wishon but they may be a good starting place. Wishon clubs are good and are probably cheaper now than what the big OEMs would get for a set of clubs. Regarding technology, I don't think a properly fit set of Wishon's would be inferior to any other popular clubs.
I have yet to hear or see anything that can specifically debunk his or Maltby's methods. Their methods are logical and simple and also rely on hard data like any other method. The only thing that has changed since he wrote his last book is iron lofts have gotten strong and iron faces continue to get hotter. However, none of the changes in golf equipment over the last decade have changed any of the fundamental characteristics of a proper fitting.

Been less than active around here lately for several reasons, none of which having to do with any of you.
I herniated the space between L4&L5 and haven’t been able to golf since early August.  Just a bummer since this is the absolute best time to play on the NE.  Team that up with a  constant cycle of vitriol everywhere you look and I can say without reserve that this past week has been the best in months.
My wife, daughter and I took our first vacation since December to Lake Placid.  That was good for the happy thread 😊

You will have to pull the grip to find out with the increased weight if the oversized grip there may not be a weight in the shaft.

Much appreciated. Got a couple of rounds to play this week and then I'll have a few days to mess with it. Great putter though, isn't it? Smooth roll, great weight balance...nevermind the dummy swinging it!!

I've been down this road and although it can be done, it's not the easiest procedure if you want to keep the stock weight.  You can fairly easily get out the backweight once you take off the grip by heating the weight for a brief time with a micro torch (you don't need to heat the shaft itself, just the weight so that it heats from the inside) and grab the lip of the weight with some pliers and gently pull it out.  It can take a few sessions of heating but it'll come out.
As others have mentioned, if you extend the shaft using an extension, the weight may not fit all the way in due to it being longer than 1".  You can extend the putter slightly longer if you want and just have some shaft above your hands if you want to go that route which is the way counterbalanced putters used to be made anyway.
If you want to keep it just 1" over stock length then you can install the extension and use one of the Tour Lock counterweights that matches the weight of the stock weight (stock weight is 30-40g).  Keep in mind that the stock Odyssey grip only weighs approx. 65-75g so if you replace it with a much heavier putter grip, you may not have to add any back-weight.  The goal is to try and match approx. 100g total between the grip and back weight.  If your grip is already over 100g then you are all set with just the grip.

I have the TT #10. The weight under my original grip was not epoxied, it popped right out. I  replaced it with a larger Super Stroke grip with a heavier counter core weight. The butt end of the shaft should just be measured and a the correct size extension put in. My only concern might would be the lie angle change (probably greater risk pending how much extension you add) and if that affects anything for you (i.e your setup position, ball coming off the face/directional, etc).

I was having trouble with my three wood off the deck until I tried my friend's Callaway Mavrik Max. I actually hit it better that the Taylormade 2017 M2 three high launch (16.5*). So i bought the three and the five. I've only played twice but my success rate was very high. As we move into cooler weather I'll have more fairway woods into our long par fours. Hopefully, they continue to perform well.

Did you have a normal grip initially or an oversized? I'm weirdly anal about checking the loft/lie on my putter, so I always respect when someone makes that a point. Appreciate it!

Got some input on some wedge data I recently captured.  Some of the patterns that were found:
need steeper angle of attack. need more shaft lean  tow down at impact closed face at impact goal is to lower the launch window;  I am at about 33*, to flight the wedges down and get a little higher smash factor.   this is obtained by club position and rotation   Should generate a bit more spin and help with distance control.
The toe down at impact kind of counteracts the closed face.   Work on face at impact and then evaluate if we need to make the wedges more upright.
Looking forward to getting back on a GC Quad to see what I can come up with.  We also discussed setting up a mark on a net or driveway markers with a pool noodle to ensure I am launching the wedges below 27*.    The basic math is that at 6 feet away the ball should launch under a 3 foot high mark.  Then based on working on swing length/speed, I can evaluate distance and shots without having access to a launch monitor.  Or I can get a launch monitor and build the distance translation between GC Quad,  personal launch monitor, and on course.

In an effort to work on my short game and to also see how a different strategy would work, I hit driver on all the non par 3 holes. Since the general thought is distance is more important than fairways. The decision to hit driver was based on doing a google earth review of each hole and seeing that the fairways were wide enough to accommodate the dispersion pattern. Basically why give up 20-40 yards trying to be “safe” when I could hit to a shorter distance and theoretically get closer to the hole on the approach shot.

Hit 2 bad tee shots on the front that resulted in lost balls off the tee and scores of double. After having practiced distance wedges I was more comfortable with hitting those shots. Prior to this round My swing length was too short for the distance I was trying to achieve. Shot 42/35:77 for the round.

While I knew this was common strategy now, I never actually put it into play. Guess I just felt more comfortable with that lay back and put the ball into the fairway mentality. After this round if there is space hit the driver I am going to hit it even if I end up in the rough.
