  1. I've spent the last 2 years improving Swing A. There's a difference between swinging fast and swinging hard. Keep control, square the ball, and watch it go. Take Dead Aim
  2. I am keeping a spreadsheet as well. I track compression, launch & spin characteristics, and true price vs. Retail. I then split the balls into categories based on this data, which reflect my preferences. I really only use the MGS app, so I can tell you the quick reference table is difficult to read. Maybe just post the links and sort the balls into groupings - such as - Tour Urethane, Non-Tour Urethane, and Non-Urethane (or value/distance etc.) Or rank them by True Price percentages. Take Dead Aim
  3. Thanks! This ball lab is a fantastic source of information, I look forward to it every week. How do you decide what ball gets tested next? Looking forward to seeing the Srixon Z-Star XV and Bridgestone Tour B X come though. Take Dead Aim
  4. Make sure you are clear with that point with your fitter. They are going to want to fit you into the 2021 driver, not last year's model. You may be paying for a fitting then hunting on ebay. Take Dead Aim
  5. There's a brand on Amazon called Falari. Tons of color options. Get the belts for around $15. Take Dead Aim
  6. At Firestone, one of the last years it was WGC, got to follow Justin Rose for a few holes. Not a big crowd but him and his caddy both chatted with the small group in between shots. Really chill guy. At the same practice round I saw Fowler standing in the same place for about 3 hours signing for kids and taking pictures. It was central between the first tee and range, so we kept walking past. Take Dead Aim
  7. Thanks! I thought you've mentioned you took the drive to windmill from CIC, a bit closer for me. I had a different fitter, but Ive heard Trent's name. I was fit for my driver there and it was great, still my gamer. My fitter spent over an hour with me just on that club. Good to know there's a second for Windmill. I liked it because they had trackman set up on the range, not just hitting into a screen. Take Dead Aim
  8. Who is your fitter Tony? I've been to Windmill Golf Center in Macedonia for a driver and was happy with the results. I'm debating about doing a full bag fitting in the spring. Would like to know if you know another good option in the area. Thanks! Take Dead Aim
  9. I am set at B4, which is .75 flat and 1.5 extra loft. I was hitting a big hook at the start of the fitting and that gave me good dispersion. Probably not a lot in that setting. Take Dead Aim
  10. I would probably grab the Titleist Velocity and have some fun. Hawk for good balls when I had the chance. Take Dead Aim
  11. Couch, Weller, TV, in bed before midnight. Take Dead Aim
  12. Fitted into Titleist 915D3 driver. Now playing the Srixon Z-Star ball. Take Dead Aim
  13. That's what I was trying not to do, focus on numbers. I put the driver away as that was the only club that was way off. I don't want to ingrain bad habits over the winter. And unfortunately I don't have access to portable, or any other monitors. Take Dead Aim Yes when I did finally get the draw on the sim, it was a big hook. Take Dead Aim
  14. So this year I decided to try and keep the swing going over the winter. Tired of seeing my scores shoot up for April & May. Anyways, first time hitting inside in a few years, a local tennis club has a handful of simulators. So I was hitting, irons were fine, about a club less on some of them. But no big deal, haven't hit in 6 weeks + range balls. The dispersion was correct. But the driver....it took everything I had to get it to 230. I've done a trackman fitting so I know my numbers. I should be 265-275. The clubhead speed was correct today. Also, I hit draws so I try to swing out to the 12:30 position (inside-out) swing path for that shot. The machine consistently read this as an open face push fade. Why do they do this? To get the draw I had to really overdo it. Partial shots went nowhere, and anything the slightest bit thin was read as a cold top. So this is the most convenient place. Do I just hit irons this winter? Very frustrated when the shot result is not close to what's known. This is why I stopped hitting inside years ago. Take Dead Aim
  15. No line or anything. I actually turn my ball to a plain side. I find that thinking about anything other than the ball in the cup is a distraction. Take Dead Aim
  16. I know you're up on your stuff Dave. Where can I find the numbers about eliminating one side? I don't think it can or should be eliminated, but I do think one can work to improve shot shape and dispersion to cut down their misses on the side they don't want to be on. I happy to pound draws all day everyday, but even on my home course I know there's 3 or 4 holes I need to peel off that fade. Take Dead Aim
  17. Any public of the public access courses that have hosted tournaments - Pebble, Torry, Bethpage, Pinehurst, Erin Hills etc. I think most, if not all, of the British rota is public too. At least I can play Pebble on the sim tomorrow[emoji3] Oh and anything by Donald Ross. Take Dead Aim
  18. I used to hit a fade. I spent a year on the range learning to hit a draw, and I've stuck with it since. If I get fast it's a hook, and the occasional push. Take Dead Aim
  19. About a dozen balls Pink tees Custom ballmarkers (Bad Motherf***er) Misc markers & divot tools Pencils Green & red sharpies Range finder Water bottles Cigar cutter Lighter & matches Band-aids Athletic tape Take Dead Aim
  20. Isn't this gift usually 2 dozen Top Flite XL or have we moved beyond that? Take Dead Aim
  21. Anything at my normal distance (260+) with an unobstructed second shot. I'm not playing tour level rough on my local courses so fairway is indifferent. I hit about 30% of fairways, but almost 80% of my drives are good by this standard. Take Dead Aim
  22. Loved Asics, best shoe when I was on my feet all day in retail. I haven't heard much about the golf shoes, but I hope they're good. Take Dead Aim
  23. I have a pair, they are nice. Now my only spiked shoe. Take Dead Aim
  24. A second for Sketchers. That's the most comfortable I've found. Take Dead Aim
