A big 'depends' - But I find most who are north of a 5 index struggle with consistent shots out of greenside bunkers. I would hazard that for most, 8/10 are mediocre at best without a realistic opportunity at a sand save, I would also argue that for most north of a 10 index your % to get up and down from a green side bunker is probably 1/10...
Thoughts?? 

My league does a ‘3 Club’ night once a year and it’s a ton of fun and surprisingly, many play better (Less mind clutter with less clubs to choose from?)…
I typically use 3H, 8i and putter. 3H gives a lot of versatility for longer tee shots, I can do a lot with my 8i surprisingly and the putter, although not obvious, is critical from a scoring perspective.
I’ve seen too many ‘victims’ who think they can putt with other clubs and lose their minds on the greens - A playing partner actually had a 5 putt with his 7i and was almost in tears LOL!

I practice at Doon Jessie - My regular rotation is Innerkip, Elmira, Savannah and Puslinch.

Hey guys I’m Jesse! From Kitchener Ontario. Newbie into the sport, started November of 2022. First ever round was in July of 22’ and chunked about 95% of my shots. Hit a 105 yard approach shot within 20ft and I was hooked. I’m a great natural athlete that played competitive baseball and hockey my entire childhood. Love the game, especially the mental aspect of it.
 
Bought my first set of clubs this past winter and got into the sim multiple times a week. I am fortunate to be decently good and I shoot an avg of 85-92 over the last 20 some rounds. No official hdcp as of yet! 
I love the gamesmanship of golf. I love getting out with my friends in the outdoors and unwinding from a hectic lifestyle. The game helps with my adhd and I’m able to put my focus into the round! 
I’m here for product reviews and to find some other spy’s in my area that like to compete and swing the sticks! 
Fortunately for me kitchener has plenty of options around with a few gems that I routinely play at. Home course would be innerkip highlands on weekends and Riveredge during the week! 
Best part of my area is a fair amount of courses within a half hour drive, only downfall is a major group owns a majority of them and pricing can be steep for the track you get to play!

I'm very jealous! I went to the PGA last year and had an absolute blast. JT is my favorite golfer so I was following him already when he went on the Sunday push to get into the playoff. Hope to make it to next years PGA!

Was out there yesterday and the course was in awesome shape.  Im sure it will be said ad nauseam during the broadcast, but the course underwent a big renovation a few years ago and looks much different than it did in 2013.  Removed hundreds of trees, all the greens were rebuilt, minor tweaks to most holes.  Lots of big names were out there early checking out all the updates.  Should be a fun tournament

I was able to see him play in person at a Senior event in Utah many years ago.  Great swing and a friendly personality.  RIP.

I was there in 2013 and have been lucky enough to play a few rounds there.  Its very walkable (relative to other tournament courses) and you cant go wrong watching from anywhere on the course.  The 13th green runs right up against the clubhouse and is sandwiched between 1 and 10.  Any spot around there, especially when players are being sent off on the front and back, is a good place to spend some time.  There is also a great pocket of holes around 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11 and then 2, 10, 11, 12 that is a good spot to camp out.  14-18 are tucked away in their own corner and are worth going to watch, but do have less fan energy in the early rounds since its a bit more isolated (of course, that changes based on what groups are going through)

I'm a walking 'snob' - For the life of me unless you have physical limitations I can't understand anyone that drives a cart. I'm getting more snobby as time goes on as my mind wanders that the best golfers always walk, and it's the 'hackers' that play less than 10 times a year that cart....
They're always slow, drive the carts where they shouldn't, side-to-side, back and forth, geezus drives me bonkers!!
(PS: Once again, fully understand those that have physical limitations and you are excempt from my rant)

I got Tickets for the Wednesday practice session for 2023. Trying to figure out where to stay without paying an arm and a leg! I will be taking the week off and driving from Chicago but not yet sure if I will be heading up from Florida or not. So where to stay? Aiken? Columbia? Macon?

Staying with buddies at a place near Columbia SC (Lake Murray), our tix are for the first round and we'll be playing in the vicinity before and after our trip to Augusta (Our rental is about an hour away)...

Haven't done too much research into courses in the vicinity where we are staying, but hoping to get some suggestions here.
Also would love any other 'tips and tricks' for those that have been to Augusta.
