  1. Carry one at work. Never thought a water bottle would be so special but I get the hype.

Nice and easy tonight. Cuppa burgers and a red & white hot.
  3. Congrats fellas! Good luck with the new gig!

Made ribs last shift at work. This was the first time I tried a new recipe and it ended up being my favorite I've made. Run them lightly with yellow mustard after removing silver skin. Then its sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and chili powder. Cover in a pan with two cans of coke for 3 hours at 275. Finish on the grill with some sweet baby. Yum.
  5. I really, really like this combo... The 7-X Blue was definitely the best fit for me in a 3 wood. It flies high but doesn't balloon. It's not the smoothest or the softest feeling shaft but it is the most stable I have played. That feeling when you make a bad swing and you look up and realize you got away with one, that's what's happening. What I am seeing more often than not is that this is a long club. I was hoping for a 260 club and I am between 275-290 depending on firmness of the ground. Still a fan.
  6. Here’s what I like. You’re vulnerable and playing your game regardless of where your ball lands. This was fun and refreshing to watch. Really well done.
  7. @edingc You're a real one dude. This is so good.
  8. Thanks Sam My father is my greatest coach and told me a long time ago “Steve, if you’re angry that’s fine but don’t blame yourself for poor play if you don’t practice.” It’s an adjustment to manage those expectations as you mentioned. What I decided was how I frame all of this. Sure it wasn’t the score I wanted but I spent 4 hours on the course while my daughter was at school. It’s a day outdoors and it’s time well spent.
  9. Just not as good as I wanted to. I was swatting at the ball on the front and after three holes or just poor contact I said front 9 is no score and we’ll keep score on the back. Made a 9’ for birdie on 9 and shot +4 40 on the back with a 2 putt birdie on 18. There is a lot of work left for me and that work is centered around me trusting mechanics. Truth is I hit the ball best when I just told myself to swing through and stay balanced. This was my tee ball on 16. 416 from the back, I had 122 into the green. FullSizeRender.mov
  10. Sound and feel go together like smell & taste. When I was fit for my 3wood I took 10 swings with my 400 and I was mid 160’s, low 2’s for spin and that right there told me I was just about maxed. It was nice validation knowing it’s in its fourth season.
  11. I wouldn't fight back...Jewelry doesn't depreciate...golf clubs on the other hand...
  12. TXG talking it up is good enough for me. And if my wife asks...well this one was $900, I bought the one that was $400
  13. Bonus! Which shaft did you end up with?

I'm not really sure to be honest. Florida looked pretty packed but I couldn't tell from the brief highlight.
  15. I don't know why but something about the MIzuno ST-Z Driver caught my eye. Maybe it was Keith Mitchell last week who knows but $400 for a driver with some of those shaft upgrades for $0 is Reeeeeaaaallllly tempting...

Raleigh has done an amazing job of putting some top quality hockey in that region. Almost like Nashville where Detroit Ex-Pats migrated to as GM & Ford began to close I think a lot of the northerners living in NC have been receptive to hockey in Carolina.
  17. Honestly dude. We get to choose where and how high to tee it up, I get excited when I can hit some bombs.
  18. I'll always be a driver kid. When people say "play it safe" and hit a shorter tee shot I'll always feel most confident with the 1W. It doesn't scare me on the tee and I love hitting it. Everything else, I would find a way to make it work.
  19. I'll choose positive more than negative and say the PGA Championship and now the Senior have both become recurring events in Rochester at Oak Hill CC, 5 minutes from home and 1 minute from work. 2003, 2013 & 2023 mean opportunity / opportunities to volunteer and or do a standby on a fire engine and watch some pretty darn good golf for a day or 7! The opportunity to have a major event only a short walk away is a bigger pro than any con I could fail to shed.
