    7 woods

I currently have a Srixon X355 7 wood on the bench. I was never particularly consistent with it. But it occasionally gets dropped back in the bag.
  2. I am trying hybrids (again) this time I picked up a 19° 3 hybrid and put my 22° 4 back in the bag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I currently have the Evenflow Blue in my PXG Gen 1 0811X driver. It is a nice shaft. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The GOST is definitely a better shaft than the original. If anything I need to replace the head and keep the shaft.
  5. It probably never mattered, but that’s how most people shopped for clubs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It definitely depends on the course and the weather. I wouldn’t try to walk a really hilly course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I just ordered a Maltby KE4 Tour TC 3 hybrid. Golfworks has a 20% off deal for their custom shop clubs. Couldn’t resist. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. If it wasn’t for my local par 3 9 hole course ( they actually have 2 par 4 holes) I wouldn’t play nearly as much golf as I do now. Not because I prefer them, but because of the time commitment. 1.5 to 2 hours I can do a couple of times a week easily. 5 hours plus from the time I leave home until I return is just not an option every week. Maybe twice a month most of the time. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  9. I just switched up my weights for a more draw biased ball flight. We’ll see how that goes. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  10. Back n the late 80s I played Cougar golf balls from Roger Dunn. I was just starting out and didn’t know any better. You know it’s bad when Top Flite XL is a step UP from your gamer. Fast forward to 2018, and the worst ball I played recently was the Cut Red. Totally un- playable. I replaced one after two holes and never looked back. The rest of the Cut balls that I have tried are decent though. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  11. I seem to play better when I walk. It forces me to slow myself down between shots, which helps with my tempo, I think. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. Weather was in the high 90s yesterday, and over 90 today. Went to the range after work for about an hour. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  13. Range day today. It’s been difficult getting the hybrid in play on my weekly one or two rounds since the pandemic hit. So I get the most work with it on the range. Most rounds I may have one or two chances to use it. And at least one will be a grounder to short. The good news is that in spite of that I am still seeing much better results than I did with my original shaft. My shots are pretty straight. No severe hooks or slices. But still a fairly low trajectory. Still, when I hit it flush, and sometimes even when I do not, I am getting 165-175 yards distance. That is exactly what I need this club for. Liking the feel of the stiffer shaft. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  14. I bought a Birdicorn divot tool to replace the one I got as a gift, which I lost last weekend. Lost the new one today - first time using it. [emoji35] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I still prefer OnCore and Snell over nearly everything else (at their price point). Played the Cut matte white ball yesterday and I didn’t like it, but I’ll give them another try before writing them off. If I decide to spend a few extra bucks on a premium ball I will probably go with Callaway. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I hit the hybrid once today. #2 hole at Brea Creek. The ball flight and distance were exactly what I was expecting. Although my trajectory is still lower than I would like it is a big improvement over my original shaft. This is a view from the #2 tee box. The green is across the creek on the right. 17. Cut matte white balls. I also got a couple of really sweet Charlie Sifford logo hats last week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. In spite of the fact that I don’t NEED any more golf balls for quite a while, I pulled the trigger on a dozen Cut matte white balls with the free dozen USA balls for Memorial day. I guess I’ll lose those for the next month or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I only had one opportunity to use my 3h today, and I shanked it badly. I won’t blame that on the shaft though, it was all me. [emoji37] I’ll try to put it in play a bit more later this week. I should be able to get out either Thursday or Friday in the afternoon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I didn’t buy it myself, but my wife bought me a laser rangefinder for my birthday. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. So far so good with the GOST. I have worked it out at the range a few times already and on the course fo just a couple of rounds. Today I used it exclusively off the tee on several holes and hit the ball decently each time. Prior to the shaft swap I had no confidence hitting the same 3h head off the tee, or anywhere else. The stiffer shaft seems to suit me better with a hybrid. Still need more opportunities to use it from the deck to really get a good gauge of how I am doing. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  22. I am a fan of Bender Gloves for their light weight synthetic gloves with the leather palm and fingers. My hand tends to get hot so usually all leather gloves are too uncomfortable. However, for the last 6 months or so I have only used the Costco K-Sig leather gloves and they are not only a great value but very comfortable and durable.
  23. +1 on Golfworks. I would also recommend taking a look at Gigagolf for a custom set on a budget. For a package set give Tour Edge a look, however you probably won't be able to customize them.
