  1. + or - 7.5% seems like a pretty generous range to me. If you are building heads that close to the edge it’s on you (meaning Callaway) if one of your heads fails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So far I have had good luck playing custom made clubs from Gigagolf, and I am also considering Maltby for my next set of irons. At my skill level I think my clubs are just fine. They do a basic static fitting online that got me started. Most likely I will get a true fitting before I buy any more clubs, but I will still probably go the custom/online route. 3. It’s not a random test if you test everyone. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I was wondering also. I am saving my last sleeve for the home stretch (back 9?). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I only played a few holes with the MTBx today but my tee shots were very good with it. Today I opted for the OnCore Elixr until I lost them all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have one sleeve left and 2 or 3 that have been in play for a few rounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I played 9 yesterday with the MTBx. I certainly like it better now than when I started my evaluation. But not enough to choose it over the Snell Get Sum or Srixon Soft Feel. Both are adequate for my game and budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The Callaway Truvis won today, but it wasn’t exactly a fair fight. I played the front 9 with some scuffed up MTBx’s but the Callaways were practically new. I wasn’t hitting the ball well at all today. But I did a bit better after I switched to the Callaways on the back 9. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I will continue my evaluation tomorrow at Mountain Meadows GC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I played my local par 59 course today with the MTBx. I have to admit it wasn’t the ball that was the problem, but the Baller (me). No more slices. A slight adjustment to my stance has me no longer slicing. Today I hit some of my longest driver shots on that course. All with the MTBx. Not a significant difference in distance off the tee with irons. But definitely with driver. At this rate I may be changing my mind about my regular gamer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I am liking these a little better now. Not as noticeable a difference in feel as in the previous 2 weeks. Plus I did not slice at all today. So it’s possible that it was me more than the ball when I was slicing them off the fairway. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I ended up also getting a #4 Bazooka Platinum Iron-Wood that replaced my 5 iron. Much easier to hit, and more accurate too. With TE just announcing the HL4 line is coming in August I am seriously looking at the driver. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  15. I was wondering if I would run out before the testing is over also. I should probably order another dz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Today I worked on short game and played the MTBx along side the KSig 3 piece and Callaway Chromesoft Truvis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. My testing so far has been on course, usually playing two balls. Last week it was against the Snell Get Sum. I will match it with something else next week. My local range has a short game area, so I will try some in depth testing there if I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I haven’t scrutinized them up close and personal like Shankster had. But I’ll do that for stage 2. They do seem to wear very well. A couple of balls lasted several 9 hole rounds until I sacrificed them to the creek. They had minimal scuffs even when I was in trees, sand and on cart paths. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I am the exact opposite. I always use the alignment aid on the tee and never on the green. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Once again thanks to MGS for this opportunity. It was fun, enlightening and actually got me to work on my game. Below is my stage 2 analysis with my ratings. Looks & Durability (14 out of 15 points) Describe the following: Appearance/graphics/packaging - 2.5 I like the logo and the packaging is okay. straight forward, no frills Short term/long term durability - 3 I played several rounds with the same 1 or 2 balls. Except for a few slight scuffs they were pretty durable Other unique details (ie. dimple pattern, alignment aid, etc) - 3 I use the
  21. MGS - Thank you so much for this opportunity. I am excited to be part of the Snell MTBx testers team. What’s your story? The basics: My name is Larry Brown and I am from Anaheim, CA. But my hometown is NYC where I grew up in Brooklyn and the Bronx. (And in case you're wondering, I knew nothing about golf growing up in the city. That all came later.) I got into golf in the late ’80’s here in SoCal after my Navy days, and was obsessed for about 10 years. Then life got in the way and I stopped playing entirely until 2 years ago. But now I am back with a vengeance. In fact, as
