  1. I have definitely used it without the sensors, especially on new to me courses. It is a little bit more work as you have to manually advance it hole to hole but works just fine. But I will add it was just for the GPS features and not to track shots.
  2. I think most people struggle with this. The feel of fast is often associated with hard. I have to conscioulsy think about fast not hard prior to my speed swings. As far as the balance, on max intent swings I wouldn't worry too much as you are training your body to overswing. And falling forwards is ideal as that would indicate you are using the ground to push up, and through.
  3. Jan update. 116 115 114 115 average. Probably didn't take enough break in between swings but a solid update regardless. Encouraging considering I took a 10 day hiatus due to a bug that zapped my energy. Stack numbers going up also!
  4. Happy Birthday Guys!! Enjoy your day!! @DaveP043 I hope you are playing today as you are allowed to throw the rules out on you B-day!
  5. I have won club championships, I placed well in competitive amatuer events, I even won a couple of events with other Club pro's when I was an assistant, I have also completely embarrassed myself in all of those type of events. Competitive events definetly expose parts of your game that are not where they should be. And no matter what you will be faced with some adversity that just doesn't show up in normal rounds. If you are struggling in these types of events you have to determine what is causing it. For the majority of players I would say it is the mental aspect that gets exposed. However there are other things that factor in as well. My normal group of guys I play with have zero chance in a competitive arena, gimmies, bad strategy and trying things they really are not capable of is normal for them. You can't just flip the switch when a torunament starts and expect a better or even the same result if you are not doing those things in normal rounds.
  6. Timing is solely based on invitations going out this week.
  7. Mike Carrol has an excersise that will help heal golfers elbow.
  8. Had a nice jump in some of the heavier weights on stack last night. Really focusing on lower body sequencing and pushing up through the ground. Hopefully it sticks, 195 weight didn't see much of a jump though. Only 1 mph. I expect my end of the month check in will be a significant jump. At least that's my hope.
  9. Have you asked your instructor for a playing lesson? He/She may not do them however I believe a lot of gains can be made with just 1 playing lesson.
  10. Make sure to add the ZX7's to your list. Most underrated iron out there.
  11. No nominations for the LIV thread...I'm shocked...
  12. I hate cold weather, I am eternally cold unless its 90 or higher. However for whatever reason on Saturday I had enough clothes on to stay warm and still be able to move. I will admit if I had to play in that weather frequently I would be a bowler.
  13. Blowing steady 15-20 with gusts up to 30, spitting rain, 50* and a lot of fun. Other than off the tee I didn't hit a "normal" shot all day, and even tee balls were aimed at different spots than normal. 3 6 irons on different holes from 205, 147, and 165 all different shapes and height range from 90' to 20', was just a lot of fun. Stood on a par 3 with 3 wood in my hand and told my playing partners, this is a shot you never practice, punch 3 wood. Did hit a shot on the 18th hole that there are probably only 3 people I have ever played with could hit. Luckily it was lift clean and place so I was able to put the ball on a perfect lie. Hybrid from 236 that had to go almost straight up over a tree and left to right about 30 yards. Saw it take off and then didn't see it again until I got to the green, 35 feet for eagle, easy 2 putt to win the day. Doesn't matter that I shot 77, was just enjoyable to play hitting so many different shots.
  14. I have learned over the years that my eyes don't work real well when judging yardages, not just slope but even flat land. It's not unusual for me to laser a flag 30 yards away. May look funny but I know that at least my yardage is correct.
  15. I did a warm up, then probably 10 fast swings to get primed prior to the 3 swings. Then I jumped straight to stack and strength training after.
  16. For some reason I have always had the additional speed at times and have never been able to figure out why. My playing partner jokes with me all the time, I'll hit 13 drives the same distance and 1 will be 20-30 yards longer. No idea. I used to have it with my irons as well, which was terrible, however that hasn't happened in a few years.
  17. Monthly check in, with some extremes. 107 114 107 AVG 109.33 I did do a 4th swing to see what was going on as a 7 mph difference seems very extreme IMO. It was 111 so there is a certain move that allows me to swing much faster. Will be working on pinpointing that.
  18. The best part of "Tiger Proofing" was he benefitted the most.
  19. I think 1* ~3 yards so will you really be hitting 1 club different? Best guess is probably not. Dynamic loft is vastly more important than static loft. Full disclosure mine are 1* stronger.
  20. Finally jumped into my training yesterday, after an embarrasing display during the club championship. Started with fit for golf off season program and the stack full speed spectrum. Yes I can feel it today. The stack started me with a progress check and one thing was super interesting to me. Without a ball I was 110-111 cruising. With a ball 107-108. Probably normal for most people however in my past Stack sessions I was always the opposite. I did have an epidural for my bulging disc's about a month ago and for the first time in over 4 years I can actually move!! Truly believe 115 will be easy and may make a push towards 120.
  21. It's the same thing that happened in 1997-1998. We have 2 choices we can post on a forum complaining about them or we can help them just like I am sure we were all helped when we started. My club, which is private, has implemented a new "onboarding" policy for new and existing members. You wouldn't think it would be necessary at a private club however it is.
  22. Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your day!!!
  23. Talk to the PRO he/she will find someone to sponsor you. Shouldn't be much of an issue. Wasn't often but did happen when I worked at a private club.
