  1. I mostly play Rory McIlroy PGA Tour on the PS4. Haven't touched it in at least a few months at this point. Golf video games get a bit boring for me after a while.
  2. Holy cow I thought maybe you guys were married for like, a couple of years or something. We just celebrated our 22nd anniversary and the whole "hint" thing went out the window before we hit 5 years!
  3. Same - I played both C300s and D300s and I never noticed the topline after my first 2-3 shots after getting the clubs.
  4. Great writeup @edingc! The comments from folks about club appearance at address, especially when it's something like these irons (or recent W/S irons as well) always kinds of confuses me. Maybe because I solely focus on the ball at address and don't even register the clubhead. I love the videos with sounds, you're doing a killer job with those. Keep it up! I think your concerns over the shafts are completely valid. I do wonder how much more of a comfort level you'd have, and short adjustment period, if you had the shafts you were fit into.
  5. "Giving hints" to your wife LOL Complete multi-sentence description, in writing, with links to said potential gifts and images is the only way to go. And it works both ways - my wife is the one that started that with ME and it's worked out just fine. People out here "giving hints" and expecting that to actually work... I'm dying over here.
  6. I go to the Ahead factory clearance every December and pick up $50 polos for $5 each on the last day of their sale when they're trying to get rid of as much stock as possible. That usually sets me up for the coming year plus. Shorts are another story - I've found some really nice ones at BJ's/Sams that usually go for $15-$20 that are extremely comfortable and breathable. I've actually worn them while biking too, so the fact that they can handle double duty helps even more.
  7. He loves playing. His swing definitely is long, but his pro when he played PGA Jr was fine with it and I am too. I’m in no position to teach him anything besides setup issues. His pro was a firm believer in letting kids do what they felt athletically comfortable with and slightly tweak when needed. He’s 14 and out drove me on 2 holes last week. ok granted one of them I hit a tree, but still...
  8. Took my son to the range to hit balls under the lights. Worked on my takeaway and making sure I wasn’t hanging back on the swing, which seems to be happening a lot lately when I get out on the course. My son had never seen ballflight under the lights. He loved it. He did a lot of work with his driver, his ball position was creeping too far back so a few setup reminders and he was hitting bombs. His irons were pretty good too.

    NHL

I watched the Bruins exhibition game the other night, I like what the NHL did to the arena but man the ice was terrible. Hopefully they stay on top of that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Very true. Every time my daughter went on a date, I didn't wonder what base she was getting to, I was wondering if she was going to kick him between the legs for touching her inappropriately. My daughter took self-defense classes for a few years, let me tell you I've never had to worry about her. I've worried about the guys who took her out
  11. I use the iron length one so I can swing it more easily indoors.
  12. I like to play for high steaks too. The more rare, the better. Walking 18 always has me ravenous as soon as we're done.
  13. I don't think it looks too bad, at least not from the pics anyways. Of course, if I was standing over it with the sun directly overhead, my answer might be a bit different!
  14. Listening to my band's new EP that was released today! https://theapathyparade.bandcamp.com/album/over-bridges Just waiting on Spotify to approve it, and it will be streaming over there. Fingers crossed it's ready in another few days, since today's the official release date.
  15. As weird as watching Red Sox games with no fans is, watching the Bruins with no fans when it’s practically August is even weirder. If the ice conditions are going to be like this for all of the playoffs though... woof.
  16. We're iPhone all the way. When smart phones really started coming on strong, my wife and I both got Samsungs running Android. As soon as our contracts were up, we moved to iPhones and haven't looked back. We had way too many issues with app compatibility and performance on Android. Hasn't been an issue at all on the iPhones.
  17. Well. Looks like I have a new podcast to go subscribe to.
  18. I'd be curious to see the IP addresses of all these posters having major issues with the F9 face cutting up balls... dollars to donuts they'd all be exactly the same.
  19. I'm curious as to why making something harder would attract more youth?
  20. On the one hand, I want to bump my score up the leaderboard and maybe even try for a closest to the pin entry (there's no way I'm getting long drive LOL). On the other hand, I really do NOT want to play another entire round hitting those balls! My scores are bad enough as it is, hitting those things just makes it worse
  21. While it's disappointing to read about your initial experience, I'm really glad to see that both companies did their absolute best to make things right. The internet is filled with complaints and negativity (sometimes unwarranted or barely veiled efforts to get free stuff). It's really nice to read about companies who stepped up and left a positive experience.
  22. Hit 'em well and have fun!
  23. 4 is the only one I’ll agree with. I can walk 9 holes for less than $20 at multiple courses near me. I can play 18 with cart from anywhere from $40-$70 and that’s booking direct. Plenty of value out there. Yeah you might need to drive but there are courses you can play at good deals. Equipment can be bought for pennies on the dollar if you buy used or even close out models. No need to have the latest and greatest. Those lower priced courses are usually on the shorter side and nowhere close to tricked out. Lack of play is, in my opinion, due far more to competing interests nowadays. There’s a lot to do. As far as rounds taking too long, yup that’s an issue and always will be one. That’s why I (and many others) prefer to play 9. I still get to go out and have fun and it doesn’t take 5+ hours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
