I agree.  Most of the polos I see advertised online are $100 or more.  A friend of mine bought a Callaway polo for $40 on sale at TJ Max last and felt it was a good deal.  I have yet to pay over $30 for one not on sale.  I didn't know until tonight about Ben Hogan apparel when I stumbled across the section at Wal-Mart.  Which brings me to my next point, I stocked up on Hogan shorts for $16.97 a pair which beats the heck out of the $60 and $70 shorts I've seen at Kohl's.

Bought a Sun Mountain Teton cart bag this afternoon.  I've been wanting a cart bag since I'm only a rider in the hotter months and may move into walking with a push cart in the early Spring rounds in the future.

In honor of World Whiskey Day, I had some Buffalo Trace with dinner.  Before bed I'll cap off the day with a splash of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.

I had to teach myself how to edit putts on Arcoss to show this one, but I made one of my better putts ever yesterday.  One of my longest and the highlight of my round.  All of my putts were good yesterday, but this was by far the best.  My distance control is absolutely spot on with my putter, but I don't always read the break correctly.

... Being old school I actually prefer the shiny chrome. And the badge serves a purpose so I rally don't care how it looks. Like many others I love a very clean look on an iron but I would compare it to my underwear. As much as I love a certain look and style I don't see them so comfort is my main concern and I would wear purple Barney panties if they were the most comfortable. 🤪  If my irons look great at address and perform for me, that is my only concern. A clean cavity is just icing on the cake but so very rare in 2021.

I purchased a GAPR Mid last year as well.  Mine is also a Global Golf pick up and was rated at Certified Pre-Owned, but looked like it had never been hit.  Same loft, but with a KBS Hybrid graphite shaft and stiff flex.  I assume mine is the stock shaft since the KBS band is the same off green as the GAPR color.
All that aside, you are absolutely right about this club.  It's definitely a great tool for tight fairways off the tee and gives that extra confidence that a driving iron would not.  I'm not very good from the fairway with mine, but that's likely a mental hang up or a mechanical flaw.  There is some great potential for shot shaping as well.  I had to draw a tee shot around trees once last year after the course I normally play moved the white tees about 10 yards to tbe left of the other tees.
The one thing I read repeatedly is that the GAPR is harsh on bad contact and that's absolutely true.  The Speed Foam makes for a wonderful feeling sweet spot, but it does not hide poor contact.

Amidst an ugly first round of the year, I managed to step on the gas on the 8th tee at Greystone this morning and I managed to stripe one through the gap in the trees and end up in the middle of the fairway.  Granted I was back to my usual self right afterwards on the same hole, but I was still smiling.  Arcoss doesn't do this justice because right at the hard left in the fairway, the hole climbs up the hillside to the green.

Thanks for sharing that there are a couple more priest out there. I played baseball and football for years, but needed to upgrade to sports where I won’t blow out my knees and can join my parishioners outside. So, golf and tennis have been the new hobbies of the pandemic.

Hey y’all, I just picked up golfing during the pandemic this past November, 2020 and have been having a great time. I’ve trying to get the handicap down, and it’s hovering around a +10 currently. I’ve enjoyed getting outdoors, honing the craft of a new sport, and it’s been something fun to do since we’ve just moved to town this past Summer.
I’ve really enjoyed the MyGolfSpy articles and reviews, and have been a bit of a review junkie as I’ve been building my bag. I enjoy the tech and science that goes into each club, ball, and even apparel. Thought I might join the forums!
Home Course is Country Club of Jackson, Jackson, MS. Home of the Sanderson Farm Classic!
I’m a parish priest in the diocese, whose found golf to be a great point of connection to many.
Looking forward to meeting more Spies out there!

I am torn, I really like the amt tour white. But I also have a set of the TT new concept tour s300 shafts coming in for a set i am building.  I really lived that shaft in my jpx 919 hot metals, but I did hit them a little high. Not sure if that was shaft m, head or combo of two.
I will probable swap the shafts. Setup the new hot metal pro's i am getting qith the amt tour whites, then put the jpx-919 forged on the tt new concepts,  and see how I like them.been playing the forged with the amt tour white for about last 4 rounds and really like them.
Not sure why I feel compelled to try the hot metal pros.  Its a good thing I do not mind taking these clubs apart and putting them back together.
My gut tells me I will keep the hot metal pros with the amt shafts. And sell the forged with the tour concept shafts.

I was playing th tt new concept tour x! Shafts for a few months and really liked them.
Now I am playing the tour white amt.  I really like the shafts. I picked up my friends wedge for him and it felt so light. Its then I realized how much I like the heavier shafts on the scoring irons.  Tgese shafts are low launch low spin, very stable and my accuracy is better as well as distance and trajectory control. I just feel like I ca. Control shot much better with these tour white amt's

Went to the range for the first time this year.  Man was it embarrassing for the most part.  I made some solid contact at times, but quite a few ugly shots.  Just shows me that I have a ways to go to get back in "form" this year and go back to chasing breaking 100.
I took the Hogans only today and absolutely loved hitting them.  Toe shots weren't as terribly punishing on my hands as I was expecting.  This set has given me the gift of a 4 iron that I can actually hit and that alone made up for the rest of the day.
