TBS got a reaction from Undershooter in Liv Golf Central Thread: Events and News
@RickyBobby_PR is exactly right.
OWGR has to be black and white on their requirements. LIV isn't the only new tour to apply to get points, other tours have applied, were told no points, made the necessary changes and were then awarded points. It can't make changes in criteria for a small tour (LIV). Making changes just based on strength of field (the main argument I've seen - "how can you not give points to DJ and Cam bc they are beating these other pros..." can quickly become a slippery slope. The JP McManus should get points. Seminole pro/member should get points. Bear's Club in Jupiter club championship should get points.

Great OWGR drama today - if you haven't read the letter, please do yourself a favor and read this.

There are so many bad arguments here but it simply comes down to not meeting established criteria, which has been set before LIV was ever created.

Speculating here but I wouldn't put it past Greg and his gang to use View Bots to boost those numbers.
Would be hilarious if a network bought their rights but then went full Elon Musk and backed out last minute due to bots.

Heard peak viewership was all of 90k ppl... That is half of what is was last even when they had the whole weekend to themselves with no NFL or anything else.
Big picture that is so few people turning on to watch. They made need to find a better platform to stream on, because going to weird timezones are certainly not going to help those number improve.
The broadcast even made a joke about it when it happened...

Congrats @Golfspy_Lukes and @Golfspy_TCB!
As your initiation (hazing), I suggest a Q and A! Here are my top three questions-
1. Should you put $$$ into new clubs or lessons?
2. Should equipment be rolled back?
3. Share your personal feelings on the politics surrounding Saudi Arabia/LIV

Trying to get us into trouble the 2nd day on the job TBS!
My responses:
It depends on what you want for your $$$. Lessons will improve your overall game faster than new clubs (assuming you aren't playing gutta perchas and niblicks). Having said that... I love getting new clubs!! Not for amateur golfers, and maybe not for pro golfers. I will not. @Golfspy_TCB

So true! I thought PGA Tour U events were entertaining midweek golf. Show more college content. Get the golf obsessed bought into a person's career when they are young. I love the USGA Men and Women Ams.

Pretty smart - especially if there is an equipment rollback (which is expected), this could highlight some really cool golf shots. Where shows like Holy Moly feel like they dumb down golf too much and Long Drive is too niche, a combination of quality golf shots plus a fun competition could really bridge golf viewership.

Well- I think Jay needs to really be clear where this money is coming from. He didnt just meet with the CFO and say find the extra millions that we have hidden. This has been years long play when they renegotiated TV contracts long before LIV. So the tour is doing exactly what its setup to do pay the players as much as possible.

I don't know. I think it might provide a clearer path for Korn Ferry Tour guys. The proposal is purposefully vague so the Tour could implement something that has tiers on the Korn Ferry Tour, too. Think about the possibility of having a clear up for promotion 30 KFT guys. It would make it much easier to follow developmental tours for the average fans. May even increase attendance at "elevated" KFT events when you know this group is fighting for their card.
All of this would still need to be worked out, but the possibility is there.

I’m actually in on this. If it’s going to be a 54 hole exhibition for winnings taken out of signing bonus, at least make it entertaining.
They should be able to bet some of their signing bonus too.

The little names are irrelevant to the Tour's success other than ensuring the young up-and-comers have an avenue to play on the Tour while they develop and become big names.

Nothing against James Hahn, but his criticisms miss the point. The PGA MUST keep their stars from defecting to LIV, by paying them more and taking steps to showcase them all together more often. Legacy, tradition and or morality are factors, but money will trump them in the long run for many. [There are undoubtedly some PGA players who are watching and may move to LIV after more is settled, legal and PGA changes] The mission is to make the marquee PGA players happy, not the James Hahns of the world. While some no names have signed with LIV, that was only to fill out their initial 48 player roster - the bottom players are already being pushed out as better players sign with LIV, 5 players didn't even make it to the second LIV tournament. LIV is even less interested in James Hahn than the PGA in the long run, so maybe he should reconsider. So I guess Hahns POV is sour grapes as much as anything.
