The Evian Championship Preview, Pairings, and More

This week the LPGA moves to France for the playing of the Evian Championship. Angela Stanford will be trying to defend the title she won last year when she came out victorious by one stroke over four players.

Delta Airlines lost Danielle Kang's golf clubs.  They were found and returned today, a day before a major championship.  British Airways lost Ryan O'Toole's golf bag as well.  The funny part to this story is, the British Airways attendant asked O'Toole, "can't you just use a rental set!"

Going out on a limb and suggesting that attendant is NOT a golfer!

any info on how long they took on each round? I ask as I was watching near the end and on 18 they seemed to take forever to play that hole, I went away for 5 minutes after they were all on the green, came back and only 1 had putted out, looked painfully slow.

Stacey Lewis said in a tweet on Friday... "I will never understand 5 hours and 50 minutes to play a round of golf!  It's not fun for us players, can't be fun to watch!"

I always like watching the ladies play, but I tried to watch some of it and it didn't hold my interest.  It's a recurring theme, but the LPGA is glacially slow now.  Slow players have learned not to think about a shot until it's their turn, so the pace can be whatever it is, and they adapt.  Faster players are in effect, being penalized.  

It's a problem across all tours, but it's one that nobody in charge wants to address.  Maybe they will when it hurts their pocketbooks.

nearly 6 hours! give me strength!!! Stacey is spot on, really really dull to watch and I only caught a couple of holes.

This week the LPGA travels to England for the playing of the AIG Women's British Open. Georgia Hall (pictured below) will be trying to defend the title she won last year by two strokes over runner-up Pornanong Phatlum.
