btbgolf4
Would this create more stability and/or control of the clubhead? I cant think of any other reason they would put that there. Justin66
Nice to see something different, but I am not sure I understand what is going on. Unless that "fin" moves, I don't see it doing anything other than sitting there. If you miss-hit a shot on the toe or heel, the head rotates about it's CG location horizontally... the fin doesn't look like it's in a place to be of any help. There also doesn't look like there's enough there to effect loft or lie. It's also tough to really ascertain anything from a 2D drawing... The cynic in me says they'll try to make people think it's a rudder, cutting through the air and giving us all more distance than those other bum's (especially Titleist and Taylormade) normal hosels. Sandy Koufax
Interesting, wasn't it the recent FT-9 from Callaway that was actually a hosel-less design? The Germans are only dead, when the coffin is nailed shut
TWShoot67
That looks strange indeed. Not sure about the flange looking thing if thats for loft changing or what? Puku
A new design patent got issued today from Callaway. An interesting hosel design to say the least. via: Golf-Patents.com Hi We develop, file, licence and sell patents, including two deals in golf so far, so can add a bit of info/insight here ........... This is a design patent - protects the visual form. As such it has no specification or claims. It is not an adjustable hosel patent and my call is it is an aerodynamics angle .................. What have Callaway been up to in the adjustable space _ Here are some recent applications http://www.freepaten...n&search=Search http://www.freepaten...010/0292018.pdf - looks like a new patent war with TM looming? http://www.freepaten...011/0034266.pdf - same old same old imix? http://www.freepaten...011/0039637.pdf _ sole detail http://www.freepaten...011/0039637.pdf _ sole face and weight adjustable parts Got to say _ none of these look particularly inspiring .............. but I have not studied them

I agree with the none too inspiring comment. The sole plate looks like an absolute rip-off of the TMaG plate in 2D... unless TMaG's coming up with something different? The picture of the I-MIX looks a little like the new Fuz-Fit adaptor from Club Connex... it allows you to use the adapter without having to tip-trim the shaft. Very curious, indeed!
