whiskey golf
The 5 isn't even that bad, heck if they all looked like the 5 iron, I'd be okay with it. The 7, 8, and 9 have the soles worn to the point that it's hard to make out the iron number. I've NEVER seen Pings worn like this, seriously. That's part of the reason I decided to go Ping, because they're supposed to be bullet proof. Yeah, unless you're using the cart path as a range mat. And to top it off, the 7 and 8 iron's appear to have the little vibration insert epoxied back on to them. It's not dirt, that's for sure. I was going to say I've never seen PING irons in that bad of condition, they keep their looks for the most part even after years of use. I've noticed the i20's don't wear the same as other PING irons but honestly those look really bad. Sorry about the condition of your purchase. I was about to say if this guy did that much battle damage to a set of Pings he would wear out an anvil. One of my playing partners has a set of Ping Zing 2's that look like he has been gardening. It is the last new set he bought and has only changed the grips twice and wiped them down last time during the mid 90's, but his clubs look better than those. He dug a ball out of the water and it accidentally cleaned the club and I looked at it. Not a considerable amount of difference from when they were new. Not that they looked that good new, but they looked the same. RookieBlue7
That's the thing, Pings are hard to destroy. This seller is a high volume seller, but still. I'd be embarrassed to even donate these to a charity for underprivileged kids. I'd be afraid kids would develop bad habits if they used these. TWShoot67
RB7, Where did you buy them? If it's ebay you should talk to the seller as if he's a high volume seller he might have given them the wrong description . I would at least talk to the seller and air out your concern as to condition. If these are supposed to be average wear then you should have no issues getting a full refund! heck I've sold brand New heads to someone on ebay who then shafted the heads up hit them then claimed they were used and ebay sided with the buyer even with all the pics I showed they were BN. ebay almost 100% of the time finds for the buyer. If you bought from a private seller and he has a good rep he should stand by his sale. They are not in good shape. I would just say I want my money back and find a better set elsewhere. RookieBlue7
I ended up calling eBay and having them escalating the case after delivery today. Why? Because the seller still hadn't processed the refund (even after he signed for them and eBay had sent him a message). He did, however, have time to list at least 6 items(lost service inside the building at work, so I couldn't see exactly how many he listed, but I got notifications on 6 of them) AFTER the clubs were signed for. What sucks is I had to pay $32.85 out of my pocket to return them, which is absurd. So in the end, I got back right at $400 of the $438 I sent for them (in essence, technically I spent $470 or so and am getting back the $438 and change). Sucks, but at least I got it escalated... Now to wait between 24 and 72 hours for it to show back up in my paypal account (while they hold it in a float account and draw more interest on it). Hopefully I'll have new clubs by the weekend. RookieBlue7
You just eat it. Sucks, but at least I'm getting the original purchase price back. PayPal came through early. They just deposited my money. And I've bought more irons. And the funny thing, there has been a set in my WITB on here before. They're rare and the guy I bought the last set put up a set he was holding on to for himself. Still in plastic too. Just paid. What are they? One of my biggest regrets ever, and I bought a brand new set of heads again from him.(and saved money). Adams CB2/CB1 combo set. I loved those clubs and regretted selling them. So, it turns out as a good thing. I'm getting some of my favorite heads ever once again. And this time, if I try to sell them, someone tell me I'm an idiot. I did write what club it was on the packaging for easier identification when doing the build. The weight is already on there when I get them.) RookieBlue7
Yeah I'm gonna do the paintfill tonight. Couldn't take outside pics today as the skies decided to open up. An I never should've gotten rid of the first set of these (first post in this thread, lol). They had KBS Tours in them and I think that's why I ended up getting rid of them, because of the flight. I'm a True Temper guy, what can I say? If Kim Braly could recreate the flight of the C-Tapers with the feel of the Tours, it'd be game on and I'd have a stiff competition between that shaft and my favorite DGTI's. But yeah, this iron set, for some reason, just oozes confidence for me. Top lines on the CB1's is just right in the short irons and the long irons are just money on forgiveness with playability. RookieBlue7
Have a new putter inbound and have an XHot driver head on the way. Ordered the double cog TA adapter for it as well as will be hot melting it and installing a Whiteboard. It's 11.5 degrees (much more loft than I normally play). I have a project with it. Deliberately chose an S flex whiteboard that I'll tip to X flex to lower the flex point of the shaft a little more to bring the LA down just right. It's an experiment I've been wanting to try and since I got the head and the shaft for a song, now appears to be an appropriate time.
