Yes, I love this driver. But I enjoy trying new things, and who wouldn't want another yard or two they really don't need? That and they're like boobs. Once you've seen one, you pretty much want to see all of the rest of them out there.

Bought another putter, one I've been searching for for about a month now to replace one I had a long time ago.  Finally found another.  Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Tour Lined and Filled Centershaft.  Can't wait, hope it's magic like the last one was.

Alright, the White Hot 2-ball CS is a welcome addition. I counterweighted it with a 3 inch, 74.3 gram Clevis pin and put a Flatso Mid on it. Put it in play for the scramble and putted well. I hit center cup 8 putts in a row. Only 3 dropped, but I'm hitting them dead nuts center of the cup. So that tells me that it's just a little less speed but the ball is rolling well with it.

 

I also bought a set of NOS iron heads that I'm gonna put up for later (though I'm seriously thinking about building them and giving them to the 72 year old in my normal foursome. They're what he's beat the grooves off of for the last 7-8 years we've been playing at least. He's said he doesn't want another set but I'm curious of he'd play them if I built them and presented them to him. Either way, I've bought them to put up for later. If he'll play them I'll tell him to just give them back when he retires them.) they're 2-SW Maxfli Revolution Black Dots. Never been shafted, still in the bubble wrap.

The 2 iron isn't as forgiving as the one I have but the whole set is a pretty good deal, I want to say it was around $80 and they were in pretty decent shape.

I gave $100 for a set of never been shafted heads 2-SW(they're still in the bubble wrap). The multilayer design is possibly the softest feeling cast club I've ever hit. At $10 per head, I kind of felt obligated to buy them. May buy a set of Australian Blades I've found too.

I'm with you there, I thought that they were forged from hitting them, didn't know they were cast. That's a great deal for the heads, hope you like them a lot.

Sloppy time of the year coming up, so what better to do than refinish an old friend of a 56* wedge and try my hand and reproducing the K-grind Miura-san does(and JP did earlier and calls the Santoku grind) and reduce drag?

Got a start on it tonight going freehand with it.

 

 

Still got some fine tuning to do, as well as cleaning everything up and then finishing it out. Thinning out the topline as well.

I just did a torched oil quench finish and redid the face bead blast.

The bag is coming full circle. Played the new R11 driver I bought today with the Talamonti PD70 I purchased. Phil guessed at tipping to match what the V1 was and it's spot on(imagine that). The new wedge is awesome and I stuffed one from the sand and several tight lie shots. I'm thinking about duplicating the grind on the matching CG12 60* I have.

I've had this combo before (that's why I say this bag is coming full circle, lol). I'm gonna play it a few more rounds before I say it'll kick the SFTP 2.0 out. But the SFTP will stay at my house, just in case.

Yep hybrids head shape didn't set up right and the 4 versions of the driver I tried had worse #'s

It's not, I'm gonna pull the shaft and sell the head lol. I've decided in just not a 5 wood guy. I can't find one that doesn't set up closed and is hook city for me. I'm going to try a 16-18 degree hybrid and see if I can find a compromise that fits between my 21* hybrid and 13* fairway.

You're trying to fill the same gap that I am, sort of. I actually picked up a Covert Tour hybrid that's adjusts between 17* and 21*. I have it at 19, but I'm almost considering setting it to 21* to replace a 4 iron to gain some distance and then fill the gap above it with a 5 wood.
