I love our golfer diy ingenuity on this forum!  Nicely done!  How many shafts have you pulled with it?

I just pulled an entire set of iron shafts using this method.  I wanted to say thank you so much for sharing.  Saved me $100s and let me save my graphite shafts time toss on eBay.

i ended up melting the ferrule first and sliding it down under the brake spreader to use as a “padding” so I didn’t scratch the shafts as it was being pulled.  Not sure if that makes sense but it helped.

I made a cheap DIY golf shaft puller/Pusher for £15 all in. The only equipment needed besides the ones described below are a bench mounted vice and a hand grinder with steel slotting disc plus some sharp HSS drills to 9mm.

Buy a disc pad spreader - I used the Neilson one off ebay £10
A golf shaft rubber vice clamp (£3 off ebay)

You will need some sharp HSS drills up to 9mm and a steel slotting disc on a hand grinder to make the slots for the shaft, the spreader steel is hardened so sharp drills needed. Ensure all edges of slots are deburred to avoid scratching your precious shafts
See pic below of completed mods to spreader
See pic below of device in place ready to push shaft off

You don't need a lot of heat to soften the epoxy holding the shaft in. Works 100% and will last a lifetime

Nice job, how wide does the caliper open? Or did you change the bolt for a longer one, I bought the crow bar which is fine for steel shafts but problematic with Graphite.

I’m a hacker who loves nothing more than to change how I play, be that grips shafts and heads its all fair game lol…
