JFish350
ZERO workouts for this week. It's just been one of those where it feels like if something could go wrong it will. PDIDDYMARSH
What was interesting over the weekend was a video of Joaquin Niemann's workout and how simple it actually was, I've always done workouts since graduating university, I lost 4 stone straight after graduating as it was no longer drink and party everyday. Ever since it's always been little cardio and just weights. I have now made it more of a priority to do more mobility work prior to weights. I have already noticed a difference in how much I can rotate. My goals moving forward are to train areas to increase my swing speed and power in specific areas. Sorry for your loss, but wow, very cool that you're running a marathon in honor of your late brother! I love that you're using that as motivation to stay in shape and keep pushing because that's what a marathon is all about. I ran a marathon in 2016 and it was fun, but tough! Thanks for letting us know your plans and keep us up-to-date on your progress and how the 1/2 marathon goes in 10 days! My unrequested advice is to keep your pace at the beginning. It can be hard to not go full tilt out of the gates, especially in some of the bigger races where there is a lot of energy. I've completed the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon 5 times and there is always a lot of energy. There's also usually between 20-25k people running. This one will have about 5k people. She is meeting with a physical therapist to try to figure out a plan to recover and still run in the race. It would be her first marathon as well. She ran the half with me in 2019. MCunderpar
Great topic! Three years ago I made a commitment to get my mid 50s out of shape body going. Along with better eating habits, I make sure I’m active every day. One day is strength training and the next aerobic. During the golf season, I play 2-3 times per week and walk every time. I work with a trainer about once a month to keep me going and fresh. I’ve dropped about 30 pounds and kept it off. I look forward to see what people are doing and picking up good tips.
