chadmariage
Wondering what YouTube golf folks watch. What is your go to? Guilty pleasure? I have been watching a lot over the past year. My main go tos are Rick Sheils, Grant Horvat, Good Good, BustaJack and Bryan Bros. I like to see equipment reviews with Rick and Peter Finch and the guilty pleasure is definitely Bob Does Sports. BDS is pretty relatable. Would be a lot of fun being on that crew. Something about YouTube golf makes me feel more connected to it. Maybe it is because we get to witness thought processes, be "inside the ropes" in some regards and get closer to the ins and outs of every shot. Curious to hear what others think and to maybe discover new channels. mpatrickriley 1 Quote Driver: Stealth Plus | HZRDUS Black 60g XS Fairway: Stealth 2 3 Wood | Aldila Rogue 110 SFlex Hybrid: GAPR 3 (19degree) | Kuro Kage S Flex Hybrid: Stealth 2 4 Hybrid | Kali 85-S Irons: P790 5-A | Dynamic Gold S300 105 Wedges: MG3 56(down to 55) and 60 | Stock True Temper (DG) Wedge Putter: DF3 | White Accra x LAB | 34" 67 degree Lie Angle Link to comment
Mezz
I must say I thoroughly enjoy YouTube golf. Rick, while he’s in a bit of a rut with his game, actually provided me so much valuable information when I was learning to play a few years back. BDS is definitely a favorite. Those guys are out of control. Bryson’s channel is also really great. When it comes to golf on YouTube, I feel that a VERY underrated channel is 2ndswing’s channel. They have a ton of great, informative content with tons of club testing and reviews from different types of players. I like that world of golf. It’s fun, lighthearted, and relatable. A lot of those content creators are also really good players! Looking for the next good good live streamed event with all the content creators this June/july! chadmariage 1 Quote TM stealth 2+ driver callaway paradigm TD 3 wood mizuno jpx-921 hm pro irons (4-G) mizuno t22 54 degree kirky sig 60 degree odyssey 2-ball Link to comment

I think Luke's solo channel is where you can go to see some actual golf. the GG channel is filled with so many games and gimmicks, it's hard for me to consider it golf. I really like watching Luke and Sean play some incredibly beautiful courses while playing solid golf. If you like Luke, watch his videos with TacoGolf in New Zealand. I know he was just there recently, and I cannot wait to see those videos. Taco and Tooms and crew are hilarious, and the courses they have over there are insane. chadmariage 1 Quote "In fact , we both tend to hold the Midwestern stoic view that genuine problems are solved with action, not pissing and moaning. NickBruski
I started out with Rick Shiels years ago, I found him looking for club reviews. This was the first time I really ever watched YouTube. I was hooked when I saw his reviews, then realized he had other content. This led me to find Peter Finch, Matt Fryer and Andy Carter. This opened a whole new world for me for watching golf. I became a bit obsessed with what I didn't realize at the time was YouTube Golf. I even thought that it was almost exclusively a British thing. I was mostly watching Rick and Peter, and then Rick mentioned Good Good. I had to check them out. I really liked it at first because it was something different and just fun to watch. I am a big kid at heart after all. This eventually led me to find Bryan Bros, Bob Does Sports, Busta Jack, Bryson and many others. I have watched many creators now, but I have settled into some favorites. I like Luke Kwon on his own channel. Watching him and Sean is a lot of fun. I will watch GM golf sometimes, I don't miss anything with Grant Horvat in it, and I always watch BDS. I have a lot of subscriptions so the rest I watch just when something looks like fun to watch pops up. I only watch Micah if he has the group of guys playing on his channel. But yeah, really loving the YouTube golf space. I really don't even watch tournament golf much anymore. chadmariage 1 Quote Grip it, Rip it! Link to comment
jdbeatty
Guys... I've actually benefited a lot by watching "Not a Scratch Golfer". Adam takes you around a course and narrates his thoughts about each shot. He is easy to relate too. As I've been watching his channel, I've learned two major things. 1) Understanding course management and playing smart. This especially from someone who doesn't hit a long way but plays some solid golf. 2) Great scores are achievable, even if you make mistakes. He keeps a positive attitude and knows that he can recover from a bad shot here and there. Go check it out! chadmariage 1 Quote Jeff Beatty Driver TSI2 10 Degree Stiff Tense AV Series 55 G425 5 Wood 17.5 Degree Stiff Alta CB 65 G425 3 Hybrid 19 Degree Stiff Alta CB 70 JPX 921 Hot Metal 3-GW N.S. chadmariage
Luke now gone from GG. They seem to have lost a bit of momentum and are in a bit of a content rut. I have skipped to the end of some of their latest videos. GM golf solo content is even a little better right now. Golf2Much
Besides MyGolfSpy of course! I've been a fan of AJ on Elite Fit Golf. Initially his channel was Mobile Clubmaker, but he expanded his club building topics to fitting when he expanded into a bigger facility. His content blends reviews of various clubs, shafts and grips, demonstrates performance impacts on various club tweaks and lists a bunch of "how to" club building videos. His video inspired me to build on his concept for a limited space gripping station concept. With limited space and no basements in Key West, the concept built around a 2x6 and a clamping vise is easy to store (sits above my small shed window) and bring out when needed. I improved the design by adding a sliding club support, the catch tray for recycling solvent, and level laser to help with alignment. chadmariage 1 Quote Ping G430 Max driver 10.5 degrees with an Alta Quick45 gram senior shaft Callaway Epic 3 wood, Project X Evenflow Green 45 gram senior shaft Callaway GBB Epic Heavenwood, with a Mitsubishi Diamana 50 gram senior shaft Ping G 20.5 degree 7 wood, with a stock Alta 65 gram senior shaft Ping G 26 degree hybrid, stock Alta 65 gram senior shaft Callaway Paradym X irons, 7-AW with Aldila Ascent Blue 50 graphite shafts Edison wedges: 50, 55 and 60 degree, KBS Tour Graphite A flex shafts Putters: L.A.B. vandyland
Great article up on the main site from Sean Fairholm -- https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/our-top-20-favorite-golf-youtube-channels/ I think he got everything I watch in there EXCEPT Golf Liberty (Matt Blois -- formerly of TXG). He piqued my interest on Iona Stephen's channel. I agree NLU puts out really great content but I have stopped watching their stuff lately and I am not sure why. They have amazing production value and have inspired me to play better golf courses. I think some of the personalities wear on me eventually (Tron, for some reason, really irritates me). Don't care for Good Good (bro-y morons), Random Golf Club (too indie and I really dislike EAL) or Bob Does Sports (I don't like watching average golfers, Fat Perez is good but I need him in small doses) but I get why those appeal to people. Proud of sean for not putting any of the scantily clad women golfers on here, not sure how sustainable that model is. chadmariage 1 Quote STZ 230 9.5* / Pro Fli-Hi 21* MALTBY TS1-IM 5-GW Equalizer II 54* / Carnoustie 60* L.A.B. Gusset
It's hard to make a short list. Peter Finch, Rick Shiels, Brian Bros are some of the ones that I watch pretty much everything. Iona, Gabby, Grant, and Bryson get some time also (I'm one of the 'used to not care for him before seeing his YT vids' Bryson fans). Not A Scratch Golfer and Golf Sidekick are great for average golfer course management (but with completely different vibes). On the lesser known side, gotta give a shout out to Mistah Short Hitter. Not quite 10k subscribers yet, a bit on the low budget side, doesn't play the sexy courses or play from the tips, but a good golfer who doesn't pipe it 300 or hit 200+ with a 5 iron. He puts out a good variety of content. Maybe the most down to earth, relatable golf channel I spend time on. Also, the rap video he made for his "Playin' At The Druff" was strangely appealing to this classic rock fan (who generally can't stand rap). Brooky03
Good Good is my go-to. I used to watch equipment reviews a lot when I first got into Youtube golf. Rick Shiels, Mark Crossfield, Peter Finch. I've moved away from those guys as I've moved away from being interested in Youtube golf equipment reviews; they don't have what I'm looking for in terms of entertainment for the non-review stuff. I like some of Borgmeier's stuff. I've started getting into Bob Does Sports a bit more. Me and My Golf is my resource for swing tips. One channel that I've always enjoyed but it just never gained the traction it deserved is Fried Eggs Golf (NOT Fried Egg Golf). There is/was some genuinely interesting and creative content on there.
