Flv02 Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Hey Guys, So I was on Facebook the other day and an ad for this app appeared. I decided to give it a try and it looks pretty cool. It was released in June, and it's got a bunch of cool features. I was wondering if anybody has used this yet, because I could not find any other threads about this app from my search through the forum. I'm flying down to Myrtle Beach later today, and I'll be using it for my round tomorrow morning. I'll tell you guys how it is. The 30 days left in the trial is for the $30 annual subscription to get all of the features. If this works as well as it looks, then I might be getting that. It has full club tracking , including distance and accuracy. Caddie recommendations on each hole. You can set it to safe or aggressive. It adapts to how accurate you are with each club. 3D flyovers for every hole with the caddie's recommendation. Full stat tracking. Yes, I've been given the nickname Fancy by the guys I play with. It unfortunately has stuck haha Now, you download the course maps before hand (it syncs courses by state), so it shouldn't use that much data for your cell phone plans. Apparently, GPS and data are separate things altogether. I sent them an e-mail asking about data anyway, and I'll let you know what they say. So what do you all think? Best to give it a run through before you go onto the course as navigating the app is a little different than most others (swipe through screens rather than clicking on a button). Plus, I liked adding notes to each hole, just to remind me of things for next time. My question is this: If you don't get the subscription, what do you get with it? Just an aerial view of the hole and the ability to view the distance to everything based on where you touch on the screen? I would think that the basic app just gives you distance to the green from your current location. I don't need club reccomendations, however the distance is nice just cuz I don't have to grab the laser from my bag. I haven't used any of the paid features of it; I just view the layout of the hole and use it for yardages. My scores from Golfshot were displayed on Tour Caddie. So the free version is only score, handicap and statistics? No distances, no thanks! I'll stay with Golfshot!
